Thrillseekers (1973–1974)
5/10
A low budget show ahead of it's time.
10 November 2006
The show was produced by Four Star, which also produced another Chuck Conners show, The Rifelman. The Thrillseekers was low budget and shot in 16mm for the TV syndication market. As a result, it was not shown on network TV. The Federal mandated prime time access rule created an extra half hour of prime time programing for local stations to fill. A number of TV production and syndication companies like Four Star rushed shows into production to fill the newly available, post evening news time slot. Most of these new shows failed to garner enough station clearance or ratings to stay on the air. After one season, Four Star stopped production on The Thrillseekers. Today, with many cable channels, it might have survived longer.
