Half-Life 2 (2004 Video Game)
10/10
Its not the best PC-Game ever but it is good.

I did not take a particular liking to Half-Life-1 except in Counter Strike. It was an above average game with good productional values and very balanced gameplay but it was nothing that would make one jump out of his chair. A lot of other people did and given how well made Half-Life-2 is, their impressions are bound to elevate it to something like the "Best PC-Game ever" but its far from that.

You've probably already heard about all the good things in this game so we'll just get into the things you should not expect from it,

1. Story - Pretty much nonexistent. Whatever little you wind yourself in is an excuse to shoot through a level. There is no real story on the lines of Undying for example.

2. Big Bosses - There's only one medium sized boss. No Gonarch, Gargantua, Nihilanth etc The final battle is more like a puzzle.

3. New weapons - Very few new weapons. Emphasis is on extensive use of the Gravity Gun.

4. No attitude, Voice, general coolness (ala Duke).

5. No cutscenes, cinematics and the ending is idiotic.

Its sad because if this game had actually had any of the above, even it may seem trivial to some, a wider audience might as well have found it the best game ever.
