Instant Star (2004–2008)

Instant Star is a show that gives nothing positive for children to look up to. The frequent making-out scenes with various characters trading boyfriends is sad. This show glorifies being a shallow, vacuous, airhead. This show glorifies cheating and moving ahead based on who you know, not what you know. I don't think that a single episode has shown anyone trying to do their homework, going to school, or doing anything that has to do with education. It is all about the characters getting their relationship grooves on.

The few scenes that show anyone working on their music in the studio are always set up so that ten seconds later one of the girls is making out with her producer or someone from the band. The other time-waster is the characters complaining about how unhappy they are, or talking about their relationships. Not to mention that the woman who plays Jude is supposed to be 15 years old but she looks about 35. Most of the other so-called teens look way into their twenties. Maybe Noggin was concerned that this show would get banned if they used actual teenagers? That this show is marketed towards teenagers is pathetic, especially since it is on Noggin, which presumably is not supposed to greedily exploit the curiosity of young people who are the target audience of this horrible show.
