The X-Files: The Calusari (1995)
Season 2, Episode 21

Who's gonna clean this yellow goo off the walls?
8 May 2006
The Calusari is a chilling tell of a boy who appears to have evil in him. Deaths occur around him when he become upsets. The mystery and suspense stay at a high level during this episode. You're not exactly sure what to think of the boy and his grandmother's treatment of him. It's hard to believe the actor who played Charlie Holvey is the same boy who played Kevin Morris from season one's 'Conduit'. He does a fine job as the disturbed young boy. One thing that makes this episode fun is the introduction of Dr. Chuck Burks. He helps Mulder and Scully out from time to time with his expertise in unusual phenomenon. Chuck is a fun character. It's a shame we don't see him in more episodes. I also like the use of church bells in Mark Snow's music. It helped give it an ominous religious feel. This episode has a terrifying conclusion that might have you calling the Calusari over to your house.
