My Sweet Fat Valentina (2002–2007)
Well, I just love it
18 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
It's the best telenovela from Venezuela I've ever seen. There are playing with the clichés in a way that make me laugh every day. The names are so good chosen: the queen Olimpia Mercury (the mountain Olimpus and the god Mercury) with the four kids Orestes, Pandora, Ariadna and Aquiles; even the servants Helena, Ninfa and Nereida; Pandora(Marianela Gonzalez or Nela) and Jordi(Hugo Vasquez) who masked like the journalist Hugo and the psychologist Nela; Jessica Lopez also known as J.Lo. and others. The plot is similar to many telenovelas: in the center as always is a girl(Valentina) who falls in love with the son(Orestes) of the woman(Olimpia) who ruined her life, a woman who is evil itself; there is also the girlfriend(La Chiqui) of the son who does everything to keep him and they even marry. But this time the girl is fat, the son is a superhero(el Lirio del Plata), the girlfriend finds her soul-mate(Franklin), and well, the evil woman is an evil woman. There are the secondary characters: the aunt Tza Tza, who is in love with both the men of Olimpia(Huan Angel and JoseMa), my favorite couple the cop Jordi and the closed in herself rich girl Pandora, the rich son Aquiles and the servant Ninfa who fall in love, the make-up artist Beatris and the HIV positive model Alejandro, the bandit Roman(Luciano D'Alessandro is perfect), the alter-ego Bella, the Robin Hood-like Lirio de Plata, .... They are all so lovely. And in the end they find their happiness. Maybe not with the ones they expected and not the way they expected but their Happiness and live happily ever-after.
