Review of Undiscovered

Undiscovered (2005)
7/10
A lot better than I expected!

We have all seen this movie before in one love story or another. The plot is comfortable not inventive, it is there to hold the movie together. The story was how a pair of strangers get through the first infatuation, false expectations, and get to the point that they can learn who the other person really is. The Music is great, pulls you in and sets the next bit up. I consider Undiscoverede a musical of the MTV variety. Nobody breaks into song in the middle of a conversation, but the music is doing a lot of the storytelling. The supporting cast is doing a lot of the character development / exposition for the main characters. Is this because they are a couple of control freaks or played by bad actors? My bet is on competent actors doing what the story required. Character interaction is where this movie works. The music is where it lives. A sweet movie about a couple of nice kids. The dog was my favorite character. High Fidelity is my favorite movie in this genre.
