Review of Sarkar

Sarkar (2005)
7/10
RGV + Big B + Abhishek = Magic!
15 August 2005
One of the most talented filmmakers of India, Ram Gopal Varma, finally stops insisting people to watch Antra Mali and decides to work with superstars and how! No one can make a underworld/gangster film as beautifully as RGV. Amitabh, as we all know, can play any role to perfection with Sarkar just being another feather on his cap. Amitabh plays Subhash Nagre, a man with power, a man with principles, and a man who will stop at nothing to ensure justice--a very interesting character indeed. Where all branches of government are falling apart through corruption, Nagre becomes the new Sarkar. Abhishek, "the new superstar," as RGV aptly puts it, plays Nagre's son, who is caught in the midst of a political turmoil where his dad is at stake. Father and son created magic on the screen making it difficult to decide who did a better job. Let's see how the sequel turns out!
