Luther (2003)
5/10
Too Flattering
25 June 2005
I admit that I was forced to go. Although I follow the Lutheran religion, I would by no means glorify Martin Luther this much. The movie leaves out the fact that he was an alcoholic and antisemitic, making him not much better than his Catholic counterparts. The movie was slow and boring. I only stayed awake because and elderly woman kept yelling at the screen and Joseph Fiennes good looks and acting made it tolerable. Honestly, it was a story that could have been told in ten minutes, much like it was in Sunday School, and left at that. It actually made me want to be a Roman Catholic, at least their scandals are interesting.
