My Uncle Silas (2001–2003)
10/10
Marvelously charming, bittersweet comedy.
15 February 2003
In a time of space invaders and dashing new technologies, this kind of television takes you back to a quieter and simpler existence of life in the old countryside when adult innocence often included a childish approach. A rare gem among modern programming, fluid in every way throughout its presentation. Not too tart, not too sweet, rather just right. Albert Finney's character is as enchanting as it is brilliant, all delivered with the innocence of a puppy and the integrity of an old master.
