Review of Gata salvaje

Gata salvaje (2002–2003)
Gata Salvaje is a Fun Show
25 March 2004
I have never enjoyed a soap opera more than Gata Salvaje. Unlike the dull, repeated melodrama of most soaps, Gata actually mixes comedy into the lives of its characters. The characters are original, like Panchita, who is funny because she is over-the-top. Anyone who doesn't see that soap-spoofy fun is part of the intention of the show-makers and part of quality of the show is missing the point. This includes almost weekly "catfights" between attractive women:) The show also contains serious subject matter like soap operas often do. Characters like Karina provide a serious side as she struggles with leukemia. Other serious issues like crime, drugs, and alcohol are addressed in a way that promotes responsibility. In all, the show is fun, original, and more rewarding than any other soap opera.
