A horrible adaptation of the wonderful book

Warning: Spoilers
The book "A Ring of Endless Light" by Madeleine L'Engle is one of my favorite books. When I heard that there was going to be a movie made about it I was excited because I always thought it would make a good movie. The story in the book is about a girl named Vicky who is basically being fought over by three different guys who all have different things to offer her. Adam has his experiment with the dolphins, Zachary is rich and mysterious, and Leo is a kind and trustworthy friend. Vicky also has to deal with the fact that her younger sister, Suzy, is jealous of all the attention she's getting, and she has to help her mother to take care of her ***SPOILER***dying grandfather***SPOILER OVER***.

Disney managed to take a touching story about life and growing up into a cliche story about trying to rescue dolphins from evil fishermen. By changing the names of the characters and taking out the one or two lines that are actually taken from the book, nobody would ever know that this was not an original story. I would have hoped that whoever was going to make this book into a movie would have done it well.
