Flipper-esque
21 February 2004
This was released in Australia in Oct 1964 on a double feature

with KISSIN COUSINS the Elvis Hillbilly musical. The duo did pretty

fab biz because Elvis films were all the go here, and FLIPPER was

in release, and The Beatles feature HARD DAYS NIGHT was on

every other week. In fact these films basically alternated in

cinemas everywhere, week after week. In between HOOTNANNY

HOOT and BYE BYE BIRDIE we had a lovely time with all these

films...TIKO is a shark version of Flipper. Charming in a native Jay

North kinda way. Some cinemas also ran RHINO just to spice up

the international flavour. That is, if they weren't screening HATARI,

or SAMMY GOING SOUTH.....all in release here at the same time. I

think you could shuffle reels among all these films and still get the

same result. Great fun for 10 year olds. Did someone also say

FASTEST GUITAR ALIVE or THE OUTLAWS IS COMING too? maybe MAYA or even HOLD ON? TOBY TYLER? This seemed to

be the 1964 movie diet here.
