Cleopatra was going to be a six hour epic. Then the idea of two movies. The story of Cleopatra and Caesar (with Richard Burton only seen for seven minutes. And the story of Cleopatra and Anthony. It had to be cut by demand. It was cut down to under four hours. Then another demand to cut it further to 3 hours and 14 minutes. These lost scenes are franticly trying to be found and some have for future restoration to bring it back to it's full six hour length.
