I saw this film with my parochial school in the late 1950's and I have never forgotten it. Went to school one day and the nun said we were going to see a movie. All the students in our school went. The movie petrified me at the time. I saw a portion of the film broadcast on a religious television station last year. After all these years the crucifix of Jesus coming to life has been a memory I have never forgotten. The film was handled beautifully although the ending was a bit unexpected. I didn't remember Jesus taking Marcelino, but the scene was handled very well. This is a gentle, family film. Maybe we need more films like this one and less of the sex and violence genre. I will let the negative reviews pass.
