The MonsterVerse keeps getting bigger and bigger, with the TV series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" landing a second season on Apple TV+ (along with multiple other spin-offs in the works) and "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" becoming the highest grossing Godzilla movie ever. (In case you missed it, you can check out our review of the latest monster mash right here.) The film takes place after Godzilla and Kong -- having joined forces for their battle against Mechagodzilla in "Godzilla vs. Kong" -- divide the planet between them. Godzilla stays on the surface, sleeping on the Roman Colosseum like a cat, while Kong goes on a little bachelor adventure in Hollow Earth.
However, things get complicated when Kong encounters a civilization of giant apes and winds up in a fight with their leader, Skar King. This leads to a larger battle against an army of giant apes and a...

Since its release, "Krampus" has become a Christmas favorite of mine. "Rare Exports" and "A Christmas Horror Story" are often listed among the best adaptations of the Germanic legend, but I believe director Michael Doughtery's 2015 holiday horror flick has done the best job at bringing the titular mischief-maker to the screen. The story about a household being overtaken by Krampus and his adorable holiday minions introduces the centuries-old legend in a concise, hilarious, and thrilling way that only the filmmaker behind the influential "Trick 'r Treat" could have pulled off.
"Krampus" features a pretty spectacular ensemble with Emjay Anthony, Toni Collette, Conchata Ferrell, David Koechner, Adam Scott, Krista Stadler, and Alison Tolman. On top of all of that, the film nestles in quite nicely alongside "Gremlins" as a wonderful piece of holiday gateway horror. That's pretty much what the legend is, anyways.

It's hard to believe, but it's been 11 years since Michael Doughtery's landmark horror anthology Trick 'r Treat was released. It's been almost as long as that since I've seen the film, and it's always interesting to reflect on how much I've changed or have stayed the same as a viewer. Personal growth can mean that something you once revered could lose its shine, whether that's a little or a lot is a sliding scale. For instance, Trick 'r Treat is a really fun film, excecuted adeptly with beautiful lighting and very good perfomances. The stories recall the old EC Comics tales as did Creepshow and Tales From the Crypt, but in 2007, it'd been awhile since a horror anthology had been in the spotlight or had tread new...

Mute’s Alexander Skarsgard may be about to hit our TV screen’s in the BBC’s Little Drummer Girl, but the Swedish actor is also keeping his eye on the big prize screen prize by entering into negotiations to join Adam Wingard’s ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’.
Skarsgard would be playing the role of a leader of a military unit. As yet, plot details are thin on the ground but from the title, we can expect both the legendary oversized Lizard and Gorilla to go head to head in battle.
Previously, Wingard has stated that his version of the oversized monster stand-off will differ to what we have seen numerous times before. After revisiting those classic films and re-experiencing what he felt as a child when he first watched the movies, it inspired him to take a more emotional route but has promised that the action has in no way been compromised.
