While the Assassin’s Creed franchise has consistently been one of Ubisoft’s more lucrative properties since it debuted in 2007, the series has endured quite a few highs and lows throughout the years. Given recent developments, the ghosts of Assassin’s Creed games past could rear their ugly heads again very soon.
Over the weekend, Ubisoft held a special livestream event that revealed and previewed numerous upcoming titles. While said event included gameplay of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and a sneak peek of The Division Heartland, the bulk of the presentation was devoted to Assassin’s Creed. Virtually everyone tuned in to see which rumors surrounding 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage were true, and the answer was “most of them.”
But that wasn’t the studio’s only big Assassin’s Creed announcement. Ubisoft also revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players will receive one final bit of story Dlc for free. Furthermore,...

Ubisoft is giving players an awesome tour around Egypt from the comfort of their own homes with a new game mode in Assassin's Creed: Origins. Come inside to learn more.
If you've never had the opportunity to research Egypt's rich history and mythology, first of all, I'm sorry and, second, you really should. I'm a big mythology buff, probably because I'm Greek (no, we don't worship the Gods, if that's what you're thinking), and some of my favorite stories come straight out of the mysterious land of Egypt. Even if mythology isn't your thing, the history of the pharoahs and how Egypt became the central focus of the entire world is fascinating to read.
Ubisoft will now let you experience it for yourself with their new game mode Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed: Ancient Egypt, avaiable free in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag on PS4 will be something special, and this developer video gives us a first glimpse...
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be headed to all major formats, and if it's anything like AC3, we can expect a great game regardless of your chosen platform. However, the game will bridge the generation gap between current and next gen consoles, and the below video looks at the benefits Ubisoft has with the PlayStation 4's increased power.
In the interview from the PlayStation Blog, Associate Producer, Sylvain Trottier, and Creative Director, Jean Guesdon talk about the differences the extra muscle of Sony's new platform make, and what these differences will mean for the player. We also get to see the game running on PS4, and it looks very nice, indeed.
A particularly interesting new feature is the seamless transmission between land and sea,...

Ever since Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag‘s official announcement we have known that the PlayStation 4 and “other next-gen consoles” (i.e., Xbox 720) versions of the game would have a few features that set them apart from their PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/Wii U counterparts. Ubisoft hasn’t detailed exactly what those features will be, however, they have indicated that it will go well beyond a simple bump in graphics.
According to an internal Ubisoft Q&A with Black Flag‘s creative director, Jean Guesdon, the next generation console versions of Assassin’s Creed IV will feature some kind of new system that allows for a “connected” single-player experience.
“Acivbf will also be available on Next Gen consoles. In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain “Single Player” it will be better...

Assassin's Creed and Arkham City make the Writer's Guild of America's list of nominees for the best writing in games for 2011.
The WGA is in its fourth year of adding video games to its nominees for writing in media. And while this list might not have reflected my own choices for some of the best writing in games for the year (I'm disappointed in the omission of both Bastion and Portal 2, for instance and as much as I dug Arkham City, I don't think it was anywhere near a contender for best writing this year), the recognition for the industry is cool (if still limited).
Here's the full list of nominees and congrats to everyone who's on it:
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Story by Alexandre Amancio, Jean Guesdon, Corey May, Darby McDevitt; Multiplayer Story by Stéphane Blais, Richard Farrese, Jeffrey Yohalem; Lead Script Writer Darby McDevitt; Script Writers Richard Farrese,...
