There’s some serious money to be made when it comes to Storage Wars.
The long-running A&e reality TV series first debuted in 2010 and has gone on for 14 seasons, and follows the buyers and auctioneers involved in storage units left unpaid after three months. The contents inside are sold by an auctioneer as a single lot of items in cash-only auctions. Before the auction begins, the buyers are given five minutes to inspect the contents from the doorway.
When all is said and done, the winning buyer gets to go through the lockers, and we learn about each of the storage units’ worth as they dig through the contents – and whether the buyers made gains or losses with their winning bids.
Several of the stars of the show have managed to amass great fortunes through their work.

The king of collectibles, Barry Weiss, is set to make his triumphant return to Storage Wars when the new season kicks off on November 2. Weiss’ return to the show comes after being sidelined with multiple injuries following a motorcycle crash in April 2019. Back in March, TMZ shared photos of the A&e star back on set, and now a new trailer posted by the publication shows the moment Weiss made his grand reintroduction. The 70-year-old entrepreneur pulls up in style in a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr, retrofitted with a flamethrower exhaust. The Storage Wars cast is unaware of who is behind the wheel until Weiss rolls down the window and surprises his co-stars. “You haven’t seen this one yet,” Weiss says, referring to his new set of wheels. “Did you miss me?” he follows up in a confessional. “In the last seven years, a lot of stuff has changed with me.

The new season of reality show Storage Wars will feature the return of the king. At least, the king of collectibles.Barry Weiss, who was missing from the show for months after a bike crash left him with multiple injuries, will be back for the new season.
TMZ reports Weiss made a grand entrance in his return to the show, surprising the cast when he rolled up in a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr, retrofitted with a flamethrower exhaust.
While the cast admired the car’s first appearance, they couldn’t tell who was driving until Weiss rolled down the tinted window. “Did you miss me?!?” A few jokes were spent on him, but one bidder lamented that on a day anticipated to be a hunt for collectibles, the king of collectibles returned.
Season 13 of Storage Wars arrives Nov. 2 with back-to-back episodes.

John Fletcher, who was known by the stage name “Ecstasy” while performing with the early rap group Whodini, has died, according to the group’s Grand Master Dee and numerous friends. He was 56. The cause of death was not revealed.
“One love to Ecstasy of the legendary #Whodini,” wrote Roots drummer Questlove on social media. “This man was legendary and a pivotal member of one of the most legendary groups in hip hop. This is sad man.”
Whodini were among the commercial pioneers of rap music as contemporaries of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and Kurtis Blow. Their hit singles included “Friends,” “Freaks Come Out at Night,” “Magic’s Wand” and “The Haunted House of Rock.” The group earned one platinum (1 million units sold) and two gold albums.
Tributes poured in for Fletcher on social media.

For nearly a decade, Storage Wars kept millions of viewers entertained. Apparently, people just loves to see what was hiding in old/abandoned storage containers. For the first half of the show’s run, antique collector, Barry Weiss, was a huge part of the show’s success. Barry left Storage Wars after the fourth season, but he was given a spinoff show called Barry’d Treasure that lasted for just one season. Since 2015, Barry has been absent from TV, and his fans are wondering if he’ll ever make a comeback. While no one knows for sure whether or not Barry will ever return

Don't worry guys, your early-2k man crush is a-okay! Fans panicked on May 28 believing that Cky, Jackass, and Viva La Bam star Bam Margera had met his untimely demise. It all started when Hulk Hogan posted an old photo with Bam with the caption "damn Bam, I wish you were still with us, I sure would love to hang out again, miss you brother." However, it didn't take long for him to realize that what happened was that he was mixing Bam (who is very much alive) up with his deceased co-star Ryan Dunn, who tragically passed away as the result of a car accident in 2011. Built-in followings are hard to come by, so it’s no wonder Zhavia Ward, the standout finalist from Fox show “The Four: Battle for Stardom,” got herself a recording contract. What is surprising, however, is that it’s not with Republic Records.
The Universal Music Group label had first dibs on any singer who competed on the show, which aired in January, according to insiders. The season 1 winner, Evvie McKinney, received a record deal with Republic (home to The Weeknd and Ariana Grande) and a partnership with iHeartRadio, whose “On the Verge” program provides swift national exposure to millions of listeners.
But Ward, who went by simply Zhavia on the show, has signed to Records, a joint venture with Sony Music, through its Columbia label . Multiple sources tell Variety that Republic, which is run by founders Monte and Avery Lipman, passed on Ward, while Columbia Records chairman/CEO Ron Perry was waiting in the wings.

I’ll bet if a poll were taken to determine which movie star would be the most popular companion for drinks, it would be Cary Grant. Maybe Ray Milland. Maybe I should go to the internet and find the conclusive answer.
Thanks for waiting. It didn’t take long. You know how fast that internet is. A poll showing which celebrity is the people’s choice to spend time with had Ted Nugent holding a slight edge over Anthony Bourdain, and “Storage Wars” star Barry Weiss close behind. So, I guess there’s a pretty big difference between “movie stars” and “celebrities” these days. Of course, being alive may make it easier to score well in those polls. I’m sure breathing and bowhunting are all Ted Nugent has on Cary Grant. I’ll keep looking, though. If Mr. Grant turns up, I’ll let you know.

On the latest episode Barry got a German friend of his to attend an auction masquerading as an international man of mystery.
"He’s an international attorney," Barry told the buyers, adding that the friend was "looking for another rare locker that’s supposed to be here."
Barry's distraction worked. While the other buyers were wondering about the non-existent rare locker, he won the locker he wanted for the bargain price of $245.

Always one to keep things unpredictable, Barry Weiss keeps things fun and interesting on "Storage Wars" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on A&E). And because he just seems to be having a blast with the whole concept of the show, his purchases can also yield some of the most unexpected results.
So it wasn't a surprise that it was Barry who bid on a disappointingly empty storage locker on the latest episode. He scored it for a single dollar.
But as he was rummaging through his purchase, he found a strange mask that he suspected might be worth a little more than that dollar he paid for the whole lot. So he took it to an expert.
She noted some of the unique and uncommon features of the mask, before telling Barry that it was probably worth about $300. So Barry made her a great deal, selling it to her for...

Hardcore fans of the "Star Wars" franchise know that George Lucas changed the title of the third film -- by production order -- in his series at the last minute. The movie was originally called "Star Wars: Revenge of the Jedi," but Lucas thought "Revenge" didn't feel right for the Jedi Order. So he used it later for "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."
On the third season premiere of "Storage Wars" (Tue, 10 p.m. Et on A&E), Barry Weiss paid $45 and scored a custom-made jacket that had been made for the producers of "Episode VI" before Lucas changed the name. So in the classic style and logo of the films, the back of the jacket was emblazoned with "Star Wars: Revenge of the Jedi." This made the jacket an instant collectors item, though Weiss didn't seem to realize quite the draw such a find would have.

Storage Wars found its formula rather early on in its first season, and it hasn’t changed at all since. The second season follows the same pattern, with the first half of each episode devoted to the four teams bidding on abandoned storage units, and then the second half sees them scrounging through hoping to find treasures buried within that will make their investment worthwhile. The same groups remain front and center: the egotistical mogul, Dave Hester; idiotic, redneck braggart, Darrell Sheets and his son Brandon; the amusing bickering couple, Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante; and colorful, bored collector, Barry Weiss. Occasionally other parties will muscle in on their fun, like the bullying Mark Balelo or cunning Nabila Hannis, but they’re usually never around for too long (though Nabila might be in the next season).

Barry Weiss hasn't had a lot of luck lately on "Storage Wars" (Tue., 10Pm on A&E) but in the storage-bidding business, a new streak of luck is just behind a locked door.
Weiss found some horse racing-themed artwork (and a gnarly mattress) in a locker he bought for $320 in Inglewood, California, and hoping it might be valuable, he headed to Hollywood Park racetrack to have it appraised.
As it turned out, a devastating fire in 1949 made the artwork very rare. The appraiser pegged the art's estimated value at $5,000, which gave gave Barry a much-needed morale boost and a tidy profit.
"Storage Wars" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. Est on A&E.

Barry Weiss is no dummy, and he certainly had a clever way to make a profit after a $1,500 investment on "Storage Wars" (Tue., 10 p.m. Est On A&E). After a purchase scored him a drum set, he let his friend Stewart Copeland of The Police take a look at it. Copeland couldn't have been more excited by one of the cymbals he saw.
"This cymbal here I will buy from you for $40 right now," he said, calling it the Holy Grail. He walked away from a chance to buy it once in Istanbul and has regretted it ever since. But that doesn't recoup Weiss' initial investment, so he instead got his old friend to do him a favor.
So he had Copeland sign the drums, and suddenly you're looking at a very nice collector's item -- or items if the set is broken up. In the end, Weiss was able to double his money,...

Barry Weiss knows the rules of these storage locker auctions, and yet at the last unit he still sent a high-tech helicopter with a camera mount inside on "Storage Wars (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on A&E). The rules clearly state you can only get a cursory glance without stepping inside the unit, so he should have known he wasn't going to get to make a bid after he stole a deeper look with his helicopter.
Perhaps he was just looking to have some fun and never intended to make a bid. But even his fun turned into disaster when the chopper crashed into the wall and crashed inside the storage unit. The auctioneer wouldn't let him go inside to fetch it or even get a stick to try and pull it out. "The helicopter is part of this deal," he declared. It was, after all, inside the locker now.

Dave Hester stands out from the other bidders on 'Storage Wars' (Wednesdays, 10Pm on A&E) with his aggressive style and habit of yelling "yuuup" for every bid. He also gets on his fellow bidders' nerves fairly frequently, something the show highlighted with a montage of his best (or worst) work.
The clips showed Hester bidding and taking on his competition, not always in a friendly manner. "Does anyone else in the crowd throw up in their mouth every time he says 'yuuup!'" said Barry Weiss to a bystander at one auction.
Still, Hester is one of the big shots in the business, and he's not afraid to let people know that. "When I got involved in it, everybody that was a heavy hitter then tried to do everything they could to put me through the hazing, to put me out of business,...

I recently took a trip to the Us for a holiday and, as I tend to do when on holiday in America, I found myself flicking through the many television channels available on the hotel TV – and, as also tends to happen when having so much choice, I stopped upon the strangest shows I saw and wouldn’t you know it the majority of those were (shudder) reality television. And somehow I became hooked… I even took time to find out when these weird and wonderful shows were on TV so I could watch more. Thank god for Us television ‘s love of series marathons is all I can say!
Inspired by my new-found love of Us reality television, a love which I seem to have brought home to the UK with me, here’s my Top 5 Us Reality Shows:

'Storage Wars' (Wednesdays, 10Pm Et, A&E) debuted last year and quickly became A&E's top-rated reality series. Why? The idea of buying a storage locker full of potential "wow factor" finds, as star Darrell Sheets would say, is fun to watch.
But, like most reality series that win a devoted fan base comprised of the viewers who are returning in droves for the second season of 'Storage Wars,' the show really owes its success to its "characters," the guys (and woman, in the case of Brandi Passante) who keep rolling the dice on finding treasures amongst others' forgotten storage lockers.
No one is a bigger, funnier or more endearing character than 60-year-old Barry Weiss, the cool cat collector (he's been described as "Robert Evans-meets-Jack Nicholson") who frequently annoys his fellow 'Storage Wars' stars with his antics (he's brought...
