Once set up at the Max streaming service, the TV series Dead Boy Detectives, which is based on characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25, is now calling Netflix its home, having moved away from Max last year because it “doesn’t fit with DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for the Dcu.” The show premiered on April 25th (you can read our review Here) – and to mark the occasion, a new addition to the team here at JoBlo.com, Kyanna Mondezie, was given the opportunity to conduct interviews with several members of the cast: George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson, and Yuyu Kitamura. You can hear what they had to say about their experience working on the show by checking out the video embedded above. Also interviewed were series creator Steve Yockey and showrunner Beth Schwartz.

We are all Ian Wright in that we collectively want Quantum Leap Season 2 Episode 7 to provide some resolution to That Kiss.
But delayed gratification is in the cards as Ben and the team have their hands full, keeping Middle Towne, Massachusetts, from lighting its citizens on fire in a drought-induced haze of fear and suspicion.
To be fair, Ben gets kissed himself near the end of this outing, so maybe it's becoming his "Oh Boy" routine.
Keeping in mind that this leap takes Ben beyond the establishment of the United States of America and into colonial Massachusetts, can we all agree that we don't watch this show for historical accuracy?
So, we will Not nitpick the clothes or hairstyles or the when and where certain nursery rhymes originated.
Just enjoy the adventure, friends.
Looking beyond the trees to the forest of thematic splendor, a strong message of acceptance and cooperation...

Things at Warner Bros. Discovery are unstable right now, as their recent shelving of "Coyote Vs. Acme" for the quick boost of a tax write-off shows. As a result, Steve Yockey ("The Flight Attendant") might be breathing a sigh of relief that his series, "Dead Boy Detectives," was shopped around to Netflix.
The series is a DC Comics property, however, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but didn't fit with James Gunn and Peter Safran's new plans at DC Studios. Originally intended to be a spin-off of the Max original series "Doom Patrol," it will instead be set in the same universe as Netflix's "The Sandman," the live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman's acclaimed Vertigo comic. The Dead Boy Detectives, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, first appeared in "The Sandman" issue #25. True to their name, they're a pair of dead boys who decided to stay on Earth investigating crimes instead of leaving for the afterlife.

In her accomplished 32-year acting career, country music icon Reba McEntire had never played a villain until Big Sky: Deadly Trails. “That’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while,” she says. “I’m really loving it.” And it shows. On the Montana-set crime drama’s third season, she beams as perfectionist Sunny Barnes, who runs Sunny Day Excursions with her slightly cowed husband, Buck. Her tightly controlled life is rocked when a hiker and then a Sunny Day camper named Paige (Madalyn Horcher) go missing. (Paige’s situation was revealed on October 19.) Fearing the involvement of her disturbed secret son Walter (Seth Gabel), who is hidden in a nearby cabin, the mama bear shows her claws. As private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) closes in — and fellow country singers Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker pop up as trackers in the November 2 episode — Sunny and Buck are increasingly desperate to misdirect her.

Neil Gaiman is on a roll these days, with his characters appearing in "Doom Patrol" on HBO Max and the Netflix adaptation of "The Sandman" both garnering audience and critical acclaim. News regarding the upcoming "Doom Patrol" spin-off "Dead Boy Detectives" just keeps on rolling, and it's high time that we finally put on our research caps to wrangle as much information as possible regarding the new series based on the comics of the same name from DC, as well as "The Sandman" universe.
Created by Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the titular Dead Boy Detectives first appeared in live-action during season 3 of "Doom Patrol," but now these supernatural sleuths are ready to take the reigns on their own story. We're still a ways away from actually getting to see "Dead Boy Detectives" on the small screen, but here's everything we know so far.

Last November, it was announced that Alexander Calvert (Supernatural) would be playing Thomas the Cat King in the pilot for the HBO Max series based on Dead Boy Detectives, characters Neil Gaiman created for DC Comics in the pages of The Sandman issue #25. Back in April, HBO Max ordered eight episodes of the series. But today, Variety has broken the news that we won’t be seeing Calvert as Thomas the Cat King when the series reaches the streaming service. Calvert has been replaced by Lukas Gage, whose previous credits include Euphoria, The White Lotus, Into the Dark: Midnight Kiss, and Love, Victor.
Thomas the Cat King will be a series regular on Dead Boy Detectives. The character has the following description: “When Thomas doesn’t hold the appearance of a handsome man full of entitlement or holding court with his subjects he can be seen strutting around town as an attractive Siamese cat.

The “Dead Boy Detectives” pilot at HBO Max has found its main cast, Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri (“The Lodge”), and Kassius Nelson will star in the three lead roles. Rexstrew is a recent graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and “Dead Boy Detectives” would mark his onscreen debut.
Based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman, the one-hour series would follow the Dead Boy Detectives — Charles Rowland (Revri) and Edwin Paine (Rexstrew) — who decided not to enter the afterlife in order to stay on earth and investigate crimes involving the supernatural. They are joined by Crystal Palace (Nelson), a living psychic medium.
In addition, sources say that the cast also includes: Alexander Calvert as Thomas The Cat King; Briana Cuoco as Jenny, described as a mildly punk butcher and a confidant of Crystal Palace; Jenn Lyon as Esther,...

Doom Patrol in Season 3 will introduce both its version of the Brotherhood of Dada as well as the Dead Boy Detective Agency, cutting deep as it does with the more arcane comic book fodder.
The Sisterhood of Dada, as it will be known on the HBO Max original, is comprised of Malcolm (played by onetime Flash guest star Micah Joe Parker), a quiet, sensitive and thoughtful soul who would often rather be invisible than face this unforgiving world; Shelley Byron aka The Fog (Agent Carter‘s scene-stealing Wynn Everett), a charming, seductive and poetic alleged terrorist; Lloyd Jefferson aka Frenzy...

YouTube has released a new trailer for the impressive looking sci-fi space thriller called Origin. The series stars Tom Felton (Harry Potter) and Natalia Tena (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones) and I‘ve liked what I’ve seen from it so far. This new trailer features more footage and gives us more details on what exactly is going on in this dark sci-fi tale.
In Origin, a chilling new original series from the producers of The Crown & Lost, we meet a group of troubled passengers as they wake up on a damaged spaceship abandoned in deep space. Each having left behind a dark past in search of a fresh start on a newly colonised planet, they’re desperate to survive at all costs. In TV, there are very few happy stories about groups of people going to uncharted areas of space. Adding to those list of (likely) doomed space adventurers comes “Origin,” the latest sci-fi offering from YouTube Premium.
At a New York Comic Con panel on Thursday, the show unveiled the official trailer for series, which is set to debut on the subscription service next month. “Origin” is a new intergalactic spin on the classic “Dirty Dozen” trope, taking people with troubled pasts and offering them pardons in exchange for some dangerous mission. This time, that mission takes the people on board a ship bound for a distant planet capable of sustaining life.
As the trailer shows, when this ragtag crew wakes up from suspended animation, they find that some mysterious force as slaughtered all of their fellow passengers. And thus begins the 10-episode-long process of trying to stay alive far, far...

The cast and creators of YouTube’s Origin landed at San Diego Comic-Con to give the confab the first look at the show which is a mash-up of Lost, Alien, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers to tell a multi-layered sci-fi treat.
“I don’t think Origin isn’t just one thing — it’s many different things,” said show creator Mika Wika Watkins. She says that its exciting that she gets to write a sci-fi show, but it jumps to different genres, exploring the Japanese mafia, German noir, and even a Vr love story.
The first trailer dropped before the panel (watch above) and says, “This is a new world, where your history no longer has any relevance.” And if I’m being honest, it is an unexpected impressive thrill. Based on the trailer alone, YouTube is coming through with some sci-fi realness.

There’s almost no one left in Hollywood quite like Tom Cruise. He’s the epitome of a movie star, through and through. This week, he looks set to rule the box office and the action movie genre again with Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Another franchise outing for Cruise, it’s a very solid endeavor that plays right to his strengths. It’s the sort of thing you already know if you like or not, but if it seems up your alley, trust me when I say that it is. I saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Cruise just knows how to pull off an action flick, while being a star in the process. It’s one of his greatest skills. The film is the next in the Jack Reacher franchise. It picks up with the title character (Cruise) doing his lone wolf thing, though periodically breaking...

Gracepoint, Season 1, Episode 4, “Episode Four”
Written by Anya Epstien and Dan Futterman
Directed by James Strong
Airs Thursdays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
“I hope you’re happy”
“Why does everyone keep saying that to me today? I’m never happy”
While the central mystery of Gracepoint remains who killed Danny Solano, the show has evolved into much more. The town that looked perfect is full of countless devastating secrets and its characters are increasingly, deeply complex. Who Detective Carver (David Tennant) is and why he behaves the way he does has become just as fascinating as the search for Danny’s killer, and how the writers have woven these together has become the most exciting aspect of the show.
“Episode Four” continues to add to the investigation into Danny’s murder and the various suspicious characters that inhabit Gracepoint. How is Susan Wright (Jacki Weaver) connected to Vince? And...

It's no secret that Gracepoint on Fox is really struggling in the ratings. While we know that there's no chance the series will be back for a second season, it looks like the show may not be on Thursday nights for long either.
