Cooties, as you may imagine, is set at school. The film "begins when a mysterious virus hits an isolated elementary school, transforming the pre-adolescent children into a feral swarm of mindless savages. An unlikely hero must lead a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives against the monstrous pupils."
A co-production between Paranormal Activity's Steven Schneider and The Woodshed (Wood, Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller), Cooties was also co-written by Glee creator Ian Brennan. Fantastic music video helmer Ace Norton is set to direct.
“My friend Ian Brennan and I wanted to write a film about one of life’s most universal experiences–hatred for precocious, adorable children. And so we started work on Cooties, a film about a virus that turns school children into monsters and therefore makes it okay to beat them up with hockey sticks,” said Whannell.

Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller's new horror production company The Woodshed have announced two new projects says Variety.
The first is a black-and-white, Farsi-language vampire western entitled "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night". The genre mish-mash will also include a 60's inspired Western guitar music and Iranian pop blend soundtrack.
Ana Lily Amirpour makes her filmmaking debut on the project which is set in a fictitious Iranian ghost town. It's there a strange and jaded population is haunted by a lonesome vampire who preys upon the city's most depraved denizens.
Shooting kicks off in Taft, California in January.
The second project is Jason Banker's already completed "Toad Road" which Woodshed is partnering with Blackout Films and Random Bench on.

Given the name of both the film and David Morse’s character – McCanick – you might think we're talking here about a man who fixes cars. But no! McCanick is actually a new action drama being planned with Morse co-starring alongside Brandon Routh and Glee’s Cory Monteith. Josh C Waller is directing the movie, which finds Morse as detective Eugene “Mack” McCanick, a narcotics cop who is consumed by paranoia when he learns that a seemingly harmless criminal (Monteith) is being released from the slammer. The news sends Mack and his partner (Routh) on a hunt for the young perp, who seems to have some damaging information about Mack’s past. And, it being a hot summer’s day, tempers are rising quickly…Daniel Noah’s script is said to harken back to ‘70s thrillers such as The French Connection, where ethics are flexible and cops are almost as dangerous...
