Nicolas Cage, Juno Temple, and Johnny Knoxville have been cast in a road trip thriller called Wild Side. Accroding to Deadline, the film follows "a small-town Southern beauty queen (Temple) who is on the run from a ruthless killer (Cage) determined to retrieve diamonds he stole during a murderous heist. Lila Belle Clyde, who walks away with the loot, is a former beauty queen who wants to get away from New Orleans. To do that, she needs to elude authorities, a dogged news reporter, and Odel, a self-described wolf determined to hunt her down and recover his swag."
The movie will be directed by Jesse Baget (Breathless) from a script he wrote with Stefania Moscato. I can see Cage having a fun time overacting the villainous role in this movie. He loves to overact with those crazy eyes of his. ...

With Nicolas Cage already being one of the craziest actors in Hollywood, what could one possibly add to the mix to heighten the insanity? Director Jesse Baget may have the recipe, as Jackass star Johnny Knoxville will join the actor in his upcoming road trip drama Wild Side. Deadline reports on the project, which also has indie starlet Juno Temple (on the verge of breaking out in The Dark Knight Rises) starring in the film.
Baget, who co-wrote the script with Stefania Moscato last directed Breathless (no, not that one) with Val Kilmer and Ray Liotta. Never heard of it? Yeah, me neither and it came out this year. For his next, Baget has an assembled an interesting cast and could prove himself a worthy director, but my hope is he taps into the antics of his two leads. This one could go either way but in the meantime, check out the synopsis below.

Breaking… Nicolas Cage, Juno Temple and Johnny Knoxville will star in Wild Side, a road trip action film to be directed by Jesse Baget from a script he wrote with Stefania Moscato. Zero Gravity Management’s Mark Holder and Christine Holder are producing and financing with Hollywood Media Bridge’s Phillip B. Goldfine and Oak Street Films. Arclight Films is selling international and Lionsgate is handling domestic. Shooting begins July 23 in Louisiana. The story follows a small-town Southern beauty queen (Temple) who is on the run from a ruthless killer (Cage) determined to retrieve diamonds he stole during a murderous heist. Lila Belle Clyde, who walks away with the loot, is a former beauty queen who wants to get away from New Orleans. While fans remained hopeful that Nicolas Cage would agree to play himself in the comedy Action No. 1; comic writers Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant’s true life story about a group of friends who attempt to steal the first Superman comic from Cage; the 48-year-old actor remained busy signing on to another pulpy action thriller that has become something of a trademark for him. Deadline reported today that Cage joined Wild Side, a road trip thriller written by Jesse Baget and Stefania Moscato with Baget also on-board to direct. Cage joined indie actress Juno Temple and Johnny Knoxville on the New Orleans-set thriller about a local beauty queen (Temple) on the run from a crazed killer (Cage) in search of his diamonds.

Jesse Baget’s Cellmates (originally titled White Knight) was one of my top picks at this year’s Arizona Underground Film Festival – and the biggest surprise of the fest simply because when I read the feature’s synopsis in the program my first thought was there’s no way this film would work. When one sees the phrase “buddy comedy” the names Tom Sizemore and Stacy Keach just don’t come to mind. Add in Héctor Jiménez of Nacho Libre and we might be getting closer…but still. Sizemore as a former Klansman meets Keach as a potato-obsessed warden meets Jiménez as an activist immigrant laborer (set in a Texas prison) sounds like a recipe for disaster. So it’s a testament to the sharp talent of Tucson-native Jesse Baget and his co-screenwriter Stefania Moscato that Cellmates not only shines as a hilarious comedy, it doubles as a sweet-natured satire on racism.

Talented director and writer of the horror movie Wrestlemaniac, Jesse Baget is on board to direct the thriller Breathless and Val Kilmer, Ray Liotta and Gina Gershon are all set to star along Kelli Giddish known for her role on the ABC’s drama All My Children.
Gershon plays the role of woman tired of her gangster husband’s scams and shady dealings and she let her best friend know and plan something special with Kilmer who would portray her criminal husband. Liotta would play a local sheriff brought into whatever mix there is as well.
Baget re-teamed with Stefania Moscato to write the script, and Mark Holder, Christine Holder, Danny Roth and Phillip Goldfine are producing.
Baget and Moscato both wrote the script for comedy White Knight which was also directed by Baget. The film is shown on Laliff 2011 (July 17th – 25th)

No, Jean-Luc Godard‘s French New Wave classic isn’t being remade yet again. Instead, as Variety puts it, a slate of actors have been cast in the new thriller Breathless, from director Jesse Baget. That cast includes Val Kilmer, Ray Liotta, and Gina Gershon, all of whom make up one of the more prolific casts that the filmmaker has worked with so far.
Written by Baget and Stefania Moscato, the story follows Gershon‘s character, a wife who collaborates with her friend to get rid of her husband, as she’s “fed up with [his] criminal acts.” Liotta has been cast as a local sheriff who becomes involved with the story, and Kilmer is playing the husband. Kelli Giddish is also in the cast, but the details of her role havent’t been disclosed yet.
Baget will get a much wider audience next year when his heist film Mississippi Wild hits theaters.
