The extended dance of death played out by lawman Pat Garrett and outlaw Billy the Kid has inspired countless accounts of varying authenticity in literature, cinema and primetime TV, ranging from Sam Peckinpah’s violently elegiac 1973 Western (featuring a singularly hunky Kris Kristofferson as the desperado also known as William Bonney) to “The Tall Man,” a 1960-’62 NBC series which fancifully imagined Garrett (Barry Sullivan) and Billy (Clu Gulager) as frontier frenemies in Lincoln, N.M.
It’s to the considerable credit of actor-turned-director Vincent D’Onofrio and screenwriter Andrew Lanham that they’ve come up with a satisfyingly fresh take on this familiar mythos in “The Kid,” a consistently involving and often exciting drama in which the two Wild West icons are presented from the p.o.v. of an impressionable adolescent who weighs the pros and cons of each man as a role model.

With so many different iterations of the same exact story flooding the cinematic market every year via reboots and sequels, it’s nice when someone decides to look at a common narrative through a new lens. This is what director Vincent D’Onofrio and screenwriter Andrew Lanham hope to accomplish with The Kid—a glimpse at the oft-mythologized game played by former friends turned enemies Billy the Kid (Dane DeHaan) and Pat Garrett (Ethan Hawke) from the eyes of a fourteen-year-old boy (Jake Shur’s Rio) struggling to decide whether his destiny leads towards infamy like the former or justice like the latter. On the run with his sister Sara (Leila George) after killing their abusive father, stumbling upon these two legends will ultimately dictate whether they’ll earn absolution.
Fate finds Rio and Sara waking up in what was an abandoned barn to see Billy and his band of criminals watching with guns in-hand.

Bruce Willis playing a tough guy is a no-brainer. Bruce Willis playing the leader of a group of tough guys? Another no-brainer. So yeah, Bruce Willis being the first official castmember to sign up for Sony/Columbia’s “Five Against a Bullet” just made this project a little more interesting. Which, I guess, was the point. The film, from producers Lorenzo Dibonaventura, Jordan Schur, and David Mimran, would pit five of the world’s best bodyguards against a Mexican drug cartel’s hired guns who are targeting a politician. It is the five men’s job to keep the pol safe while he tries to win an election or, well, not get paid, I guess. Kinda hard to get money from a dead man, even in Mexico. Willis, meanwhile, isn’t exactly short for work. He’s got “A Good Day to Die Hard”, the fifth in the series, gearing up to shoot soon,...

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has been newsworthy of late because he wrote the script for Stoker, which Park Chan-wook will direct with stars Mia Wasikowska, Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. Now he has booked a new role, taking the lead in an indie called Analog, which Mike Million wrote and will direct. The script has been around for a few years -- it hit the Black List in 2005 -- and follows " an introverted genius who tries to find a love connection in an increasingly digital world." I'm picturing Pi as a romantic comedy, but that probably isn't quite right. [Variety [1]] After the break, Paul Walker makes a deal with Fred Durst. Will former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst eventually be remembered more as a film director than as a rap-rock clown? It could happen. Oft-dismissed a few years back thanks to his music career, the guy has become a promising...

Actor-turned-scribe Adam Minarovich penned the script while Jordan Schur, David Mimran and Steven Schneider are producing along with Durst. Shooting aims to kick off this spring in Michigan.

If you haven't seen The Longshots or The Education of Charlie Banks, then you may not be aware that Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst became a film director. Now the rocker turned filmmaker has landed his next project as THR reports the European Film Market has seen the unveiling of Pawn Shop Chronicles, a thriller which Durst will direct. In addition Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious, Running Scared) will star in the film which has multiple interconnected stories centered around a missing wedding ring which leads to a wild-goose chase involving meth addicts, skinheads and an Elvis impersonator. That sounds like a big bag of crazy to me. Jordan Schur of Mimran Schur Pictures is producing and he calls the project, "a hillbilly Pulp Fiction." Paul Walker is cast as the main character in Pawn Shop Chronicles, a new thriller that Fred Durst will direct.
William Frederick “Fred” Durst, a musician, director and actor, known primarily as the frontman of the band Limp Bizkit, was previously directed The Longshots (2008) which grossed over $4 million in its opening week.
The Pawn Shop Chronicles was written by Adam Minarovich, who at one point worked in a pawn shop in North Caroline.
Mimran Schur Pictures’ Jordan Schur and David Mimran are producing, along with Steven Schneider and Durst, putting their money in the hands of the forever young Paul Walker’s charm.

Though Paul Walker has yet to head a successful film that did not involve hijacking cars in endlessly strange and creative ways, Mimran Schur Pictures’ Jordan Schur and David Mimran, along with Steven Schneider and Durst, are putting their money in the hands of the forever young actor’s appeal, casting him as the lead in the thriller Pawn Shop Chronicles.

Paul Walker has finally landed a new gig that doesn't involve driving fast cars. He's been cast as the main charcter in a new thriller being directed by Fred Durst called Pawn Shop Chronicles. The film was written by Actor-turned-scribe Adam Minarovich, who at one point worked in a pawn shop in North Caroline.
It's one of those movies that will have several interconnecting stories, and it centers on a missing wedding ring which leads to a wild-goose chase involving meth addicts, skinheads and an Elvis impersonator. Well, that's an interesting combination of crazy people.
One of the produces of the film Jordan Schur describes the film like this,
This is a hillbilly Pulp Fiction, fast-moving and action-packed. It's also very funny. It's got all these elements to really pack a punch.
It will be fun to see how this story all plays out. Durst and Walker working together could be a good combination.
