Only one train goes to Canarsie.
Private houses with driveways and backyards line most blocks in the remote Brooklyn neighborhood, nestled in the southeast corner of the borough, overlooking the waters of Jamaica Bay. Late 20th-century white flight turned this 19th-century suburban getaway into a predominantly West Indian lower-middle-class neighborhood. Perceptively “boujee-er” than New York’s average hood, by the 2010’s Canarsie got its nickname the “Flossy” or “the Floss” for its residents’ reputation of being flashy and showing off.

Before the events related in this excerpt, Giancarlo Granda was just another 20-year-old Miami high school graduate: pool attendant at an iconic Miami Beach hotel, eager to please, ambitious, open to suggestion. A chance poolside encounter with Becki and then Jerry Falwell Jr., first-born son of an evangelical legend and his attractive 40-ish wife intrigued him. He acted on a lark, and was suddenly in the middle of a complex sexual affair with Becki. The affair gave Granda a firsthand view of immense wealth, unexpurgated power and unwavering faith, as...

Who Is Dillon Jordan? Producer Arrested for Prostitution Ring Has Litigious Past, Was Jailed in Cuba
Mark Ebner woke up on Friday and was startled to see news about Dillon Jordan, a 49-year-old movie producer who was arrested on charges that he had used his movie company as a front for a wide-ranging prostitution ring.
“It was like Christmas in July,” Ebner told Variety. “They finally got this guy.”
Ebner is a journalist who has written extensively about the underbelly of the entertainment industry on his website, HollywoodInterrupted.com. In 2009, he published a book called “Six Degrees of Paris Hilton,” and it originally had a chapter that was all about Jordan and his alleged work as a pimp. Ebner had gotten access to Jordan’s hard drive, which he said included chat logs that showed Jordan was involved in prostitution.
But Ebner said his publisher, Simon & Schuster, did not want to include the chapter. So Ebner decided to publish it on his website as a way to promote the book.

William Morris Endeavor learned this week of a bondage death that occurred last fall at the home of Skip Chasey, an executive in the agency’s TV business affairs group.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Duncan Gilbert, 48, died on Nov. 19 at Chasey’s home during “recreational mummification bondage.” The agency first learned of the death this week, after it was first reported on journalist Mark Ebner’s podcast, “The Grey Zone.”
“While we were unaware of the circumstances surrounding this personal matter until now, we understand that the police file is closed and no charges were brought. If other facts develop, we will re-evaluate the situation and determine any appropriate action to take,” the agency said in a statement.
Chasey is well known in the leather and Bdsm community as “Master Skip,” according to various websites and profiles. According to the coroner’s report, Gilbert was...

The GoFundMe campaign to help actress Shelley Duvall after her disconcerting Dr. Phil interview has been halted. According to its orchestrator, Vivian Kubrick—daughter of director Stanley—the effort was canceled because Duvall’s mother said the family couldn’t accept large donations. Those, per Kubrick, would impede the benefits Duvall receives from SAG-aftra and the government. On Twitter, Kubrick explained the money already pledged was being refunded.

“There was [a script] we wrote that I knew was a movie. It was mind-boggling to me that it wasn’t a movie.” That is how screenwriter Brian Koppelman (Rounders) described an original script he co-wrote with his lifelong best friend David Levien. Comedian Jay Mohr was pressing him to talk about any un-produced scripts that he wished had made it, earlier this month on the conversational comedy podcast “Mohr Stories.” Koppelman said he “couldn’t talk about that one” but it was finally shooting this summer with two stars, restoring his faith in the system.
Koppelman was talking about Runner, Runner, another drama set in the world of high-stakes gambling, and the stars are Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. Shooting starts in Puerto Rico this June with Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) at the helm, Variety announced two weeks later.

How did Arnold Schwarzenegger manage to hide the fact that he'd sired a child with his housekeeper while holding down perhaps the most high-powered job there is in a state where gossiping about people in power is an industry?
Any Hollywood insider can tell you, there's one person who's done more than anyone else to shield Schwarzenegger from negative publicity. Marty "Mad Dog" Singer is an attorney to the stars, a so-called Hollywood pit bull who's amassed a fortune by going after publications that print -- or even just consider printing -- unflattering things about his clients.
His Century City firm, Lavely & Singer, counts among its roster of past and present clients the likes of Britney Spears, Bruce Willis, Celine Dion, Jim Carey, Sylvester Stallone and Eddie Murphy. This winter, when Charlie Sheen went on a verbal rampage against his bosses at CBS and Warner Brothers, Singer jumped into the fray,...

After a video surfaced last month of what appeared to be "Grey's Anatomy" star Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and another woman nude together, the couple filed suit Wednesday for copyright infringement. In the suit, the couple claims that Mark Ebner somehow obtained the tape and then delivered it to celebrity news Web site Gawker.com with the intention to "disseminate" it. The suit says that the Web site posted nearly four full minutes of the nude video on August 17, and that it was given a takedown notice that same day "demanding that it immediately remove and cease and desist and refrain from exploiting, publishing, posting, displaying, distributing, or otherwise using or disseminating the video…" The suit goes on to say that the couple has sustained damages "in an amount exceeding" $1 million. The tape appears to show Dane and Gayheart nude with another woman, who reports suggest may be...

Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart aren’t too happy about the home video of them that leaked on the internet recently. So the couple has decided to put matters into the court’s hands. Dane and Gayheart just filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media, LLC and journalist Mark Ebner over the video that shows the couple nude with Kari Ann Peniche. Sources tell Radar that the suit alleges Ebner brought the tape to gossip site Gawker, which posted it last month. The defendants were served with a takedown notice the same day the tape was posted but the lawsuit...

The former beauty queen who stripped on camera for Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart's leaked nude romp tape was once a madam, according to her Celebrity Rehab co-star Mindy McCready.
Kari Ann Peniche made headlines last week (ends21Aug09) when footage of her frolicking naked with the acting couple at their home leaked online - and now there's even more scandal coming her way.
Country star McCready, who shared a room with Peniche on Celebrity Rehab, has revealed the brunette beauty once told her about her sordid past.
McCready, tells the New York Daily News, "Did she say she'd been a madam? She sure did."
Her claims are echoed by author Mark Ebner, who alleges Peniche told him she "subcontracted" for madam Michelle (Nici) Braun. Braun pleaded guilty to money laundering and prostitution earlier this year.
Ebner says, "Kari Ann said that, unlike Nici, she'd only take 40 per cent of what a girl brought in."
McCready's accusations have also been backed up by bodyguard Joey Gonzalez, who claims Peniche attempted to hire him during her alleged time as a sex worker.
Gonzalez adds, "Kari Ann wanted to hire me to follow a girl who worked for her - who she said was skimming (stealing) money and stealing clients. I declined. But she bragged about how her girls could make $15,000 (GBP10,000) a month. She introduced me to one girl who told me she'd just gotten a boob job Kari Ann had paid for."
Peniche and her manager, David Weintraub, have declined to comment on any of the charges. Weintraub adds, "I don't know her whole past."
Peniche, who was briefly engaged to pop star Aaron Carter, recently insisted she is not part of the police investigation into alleged possible illegal activity surrounding the leak of the Gayheart/Dane naked romp tape, stating, "Nobody raided my house; I haven’t had any contact with Lapd."...

Ebner recently posted a chapter he left out of his book, "Six Degrees of Paris Hilton," featuring an interview with Elizabeth Jawhary, "a former Hollywood party girl who claims she serviced . . . Burkle."
Jawhary describes one night at Burkle's house in La: "He told me it was where JFK had affairs with Marilyn.
