A couple months ago, Prime Video announced that The Boys season 4 is set to start streaming on June 13th – and this season is getting started with a three episode premiere! The first three episodes will be available to watch as of June 13th, then the remaining five episodes will be released on a weekly basis, concluding with the epic season finale on July 18th. With two months to go until the premiere date, showrunner Eric Kripke has taken to social media to announce that the season 4 is completely finished now – and it may be the best season yet!
Kripke wrote, “As of today, The Boys season 4 is completely, totally, absolutely Done. I’m really grateful & so proud of this cast & crew. Could be our best yet. Can’t wait to unleash it onto the world.” He is obviously very proud of the new season, as he previously tweeted, “I was in post today,...

The Netflix film operation under new head Dan Lin has been reorganised into four silos in a move which Screen understands has impacted 12 staffers.
Ori Marmur will preside over action, fantasy, horror and sci-fi; Kira Goldberg will oversee thrillers, dramas, and family titles; Niija Kuykendall will take charge of faith-based, young adult, and holiday features; and Jason Young will oversee comedies and rom-coms.
Lin started in his new job as chairman of Netflix film on April 1, reporting to chief content officer Bela Bajaria.
He succeeded Scott Stuber, who is setting up his own venture and is producing the Bruce Springsteen feature Deliver Me From Nowhere.

Dan Lin has only been in the new Netflix film chief role for a little over a week, but he’s already making his mark.
Netflix has under gone a reorg under Lin, who took over on April 1 from Scott Stuber, and the existing executives on the feature film team will now be divided based on genre, IndieWire has learned. Each of the different film team leaders will split up a few genres a piece.
Here’s how it breaks down: Ori Marmur gets action, fantasy, horror, and sci-fi movies. Kira Goldberg gets thrillers, dramas, and family films. Niija Kuykendall gets faith-based, young adult, and holiday movies, and Jason Young gets comedies and rom-coms. As a result of the changes, about a dozen individuals from the film team are being laid off, which isn’t uncommon when a new boss comes in.
How does this structure differ from what came before?...

Netflix’s film division is being reorganized under new film chief Dan Lin.
While about 15 staffers are being let go, the reorganization does not represent a reduction in force — Lin will replace the departing executives in the coming weeks as part of his new vision for his group, which will now be split up by genre.
Included in that new regime are Ori Marmur, who will oversee action, fantasy, horror and sci-fi, Kira Goldberg, who will handle dramas, thrillers and family films, Niija Kuykendall on faith-based, holiday and young adult projects, and Jason Young overseeing comedies and rom-coms.
Lin only took his desk at the streamer a week ago, but has had nearly a month to ponder what the operation should look like. He was named as the streaming behemoth’s new film head in February, replacing Scott Stuber and reporting to chief content officer Bela Bajaria.

Netflix’s film division is getting a reorg under new head Dan Lin.
Several sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the features division at the streaming service will now be split up by genre — such as sci-fi, rom-com and faith-based. While Lin officially started his Netflix tenure April 1, sources note that the reorg has been in the works for over a month, with Lin consulting with chief content officer Bela Bajaria, the streamer’s film heads and outside partners.
Under the new structure, Ori Marmur will oversee action, fantasy, horror and sci-fi titles, while Kira Goldberg will handle thrillers, dramas and family films. Niija Kuykendall will oversee faith-based, young adult and holiday offerings, while Jason Young will handle comedies and rom-coms.
As a part of the restructuring, there will also be some departures, with a source noting the number will be around one dozen, but that number could change.

If Hollywood executive shuffles were an Oscar category, Scott Stuber would take home the trophy for scene-stealing announcement.
The company’s long-time (at least by entertainment industry standards) film chief revealed on the eve of the Academy Award nominations that he’s departing the streamer to start a new media company. The news wasn’t a total shock; his exit has been rumored for some time and the well-liked executive had been talking to potential financiers about a solo venture, according to a knowledgeable source.
Still, his goodbye leaves one of the most influential jobs in movies open for the taking. This will likely spark a flurry of people who are burnishing their resumes, including former Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich, Paramount’s prior motion picture group president Emma Watts and executive-turned-producer Dan Lin. Scott Stuber, who pushed Netflix to expand into blockbuster movie territory, is stepping down from the streaming service’s top film job to form his own media company.
Stuber will remain with the streamer until March, at which point Netflix Cco Bela Bajaria will temporarily assume his role while she searches for a replacement. Bloomberg first reported the news.
Under Stuber’s direction, Netflix’s feature business aggressively entered the blockbuster space, courting filmmakers such as Zack Snyder, the Russo brothers, Michael Bay and Rawson Marshall Thurber. The era began with the Will Smith starrer Bright, the 2017 film that had a reported budget of $90 million, a hefty number that turned heads at the time but would soon look quaint compared to what was to come.
Red Notice, starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, cost somewhere in the $250 million to $300 million range, while the Russo’ Gray Man cost in the $200 million range.

There's never a dull moment in The Boys universe, and we're sure Gen V will hold on to that when it finally premieres later this month.
Prime Video went public Wednesday with the full-length trailer, and it's a violent display of superheroes-in-the-making.
Gen V features an electric cast of younger superheroes, each with their own powers, and the footage hints at some powerful team-ups.
But that doesn't mean everyone gets along.
No, this group is pushed together in a way that doesn't sit right with their peers.
We see lots of bad decisions being made, which means the series will show heroes, villains, and those in between.
Set at America's only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school's top ranking.

A new generation of supes is on the rise in the first trailer for “Gen V,” Prime Video’s upcoming spin-off of their subversive hit superhero show “The Boys.”
The series from Amazon’s streamer sets to expand “The Boys'” world of hyper-capitalist superheroes and corrupted mega-corporations by introducing the students of Godolkin University. The superhero-only college, complete with a bronzed Homelander statue, is where the young upstarts train to become the next generation of celebrated (and lucrative) heroes like the Seven.
Per the series’ press release, “You know what happens when supes go bad, but not all superheroes start out corrupt. Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations… literally. As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. When the group of young supes discover that...

Get ready to throw your graduation caps in the air, because the Boys are going to college.
Prime Video dropped the official trailer for “Gen V,” the spinoff series of its popular dark superhero show “The Boys.” Star Chance Perdoma has previously said that the show is going to be “fucked up.” Now, fans can see just how “fucked up” the college-focused series is really going to be. From crawling inside a human head to murderous puppets, “Gen V” seems to assure fans of “The Boys” that there’s no shortage of superhero debauchery.
“It’s gonna be a rollercoaster,” star Lizzie Broadway said in an Instagram clip announcing the series back in July 2022. “It’s gonna be filled with blood, guts and everything else.”

David Fincher spooked Venice with the world premiere of his latest movie “The Killer,” which stars Michael Fassbender as an assassin. The Netflix thriller earned a respectable 5-minute standing ovation at its screening on the Lido on Sunday night.
Fassbender and co-star Tilda Swinton couldn’t attend the premiere because of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Fincher walked the carpet alone, with a small group of Netflix executives, as he signed posters of some of his most beloved movies, from “Fight Club” to “Se7en.”
But Fincher must not have received the memo about Venice’s tradition of showering movies with standing ovations after a gala premiere. As the audience clapped for him, he uncomfortably shifted on his feet and flailed his hands in the air and mouthed: “What is this?” A producer led him down the stairs from his balcony seat to meet fans, but Fincher thought he was leaving the theater.

Happy early Halloween! The R-rated misadventures of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his ragtag group up meta-human hunters are coming home to crash on your couch this October. The explosive third season of "The Boys" has set a home media release, with plans to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on October 24. Continuing their ongoing battle with Homelander -- the leader of The Seven -- and the evil corporate minions of Vought International, the third season of "The Boys" hit the ground running. The series went to new heights in season 3 with some of the most shocking episodes ever shown on television. Who can forget the "Herogasm" episode? I certainly can't.
The third season of "The Boys" may be its best yet, largely due to the incredible chemistry of the entire cast, as evidenced by a peek at the behind-the-scenes gag reel (watch below) that will also be featured on the new physical release.

Prime Video released the official teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Gen V. The series will debut with three episodes on Friday, September 29, followed by weekly episodes, leading up to the epic season finale on Friday, November 3.
The official teaser gives audiences a peek into life at Godolkin University, America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International). From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given.
These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light,...

School is in session for a new generation of superpowered individuals in Prime Video’s Gen V trailer. After the monumental success of Prime Video‘s The Boys, a new crop of potential heroes and villains rule the halls of a university designed to shape the alpha and omegas of tomorrow. Like any college setting, the Godolkin University campus houses students with big dreams, each capable of taking over the world if they apply themselves. Competition to be the best in class is fierce, and only some survive the experience. The halls run red with the blood of lesser classmen, and the race to become a member of the Seven, the world’s premiere superhero team, is as deadly as they come.

Changing the setting to a college campus was always going to be hit or miss for The Boys franchise.
Prime Video dropped the teaser trailer for the Gen V on Monday morning, and my first impression is that the series has managed to nail the tone from its predecessor.
The Boys has been one of the biggest success stories to hit TV screens for the streaming service since its launch in 2019, so there are high expectations for the latest chapter in the franchise.

Los Angeles, July 21 (Ians) The heavily popular and acclaimed web-series ‘The Boys’ will now be getting its spin-off in the show ‘Gen V’ which just released its teaser.
Putting the bloody and twisted heroism of Homelander aside, ‘Gen V’ will explore the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, whose power is artificial rather than God-given.
As they put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, the lead characters will learn that with ambition comes sacrifice, with power comes responsibility, with duty comes emotional conflicts, making them see that the there is a very thin line between right and wrong, and that nothing is black and white as they explore the many shades of grey.
Much like the training for any competitive exam, these young aspiring new bloods will be competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking as they uncover the university...

San Diego Comic-Con is going to be a little different this year. Many studios had already dropped out of presenting, including Marvel, Sony, HBO, Universal, and Netflix, and now that SAG-AFTRA has joined the WGA on the picket lines, you can pretty much kiss any panel involving writers or actors goodbye. The official Comic-Con schedule has been updated with a list of cancelled panels, which unfortunately includes Dune: Part Two, The Boys spin-off series Gen V, Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, Lionsgate’s upcoming The Strangers trilogy, and more.

The exits of film executives Lisa Nishimura and Ian Bricke from Netflix late on March 30 shocked the documentary and indie film world. Not only were they Netflix stalwarts — Nishimura joined in 2007, when it was a DVD business, and Bricke joined in 2011 — but also for how admired and how defining of a voice they’ve been at Netflix in the last decade.
“Both of them are the foundation of the kind of programming that is both commercial and also tasteful, and not just pure fodder for the masses,” one documentary producer who asked not to be named told IndieWire. “Lisa and Ian were the foundational DNA of Netflix as a company.”
IndieWire spoke to multiple sources who worked with Nishimura and Bricke and they all offered variations on the same theme: They’re great people with great taste who have done great work, and they’re shocked by the departures.

With the exit of long-tenured film executive Lisa Nishimura on Thursday, Netflix has officially entered its austerity age — whatever that may mean for the streaming powerhouse.
Nishimura’s 15 years at the company have spanned the streaming boom, Oscar wins and multiple restructuring efforts. Noted one industry veteran that has long worked with Nishimura, “It’s a signal that the most thoughtful, taste-driven era is being driven out.”
Under film head Scott Stuber, the film division was long bifurcated according to budgets: tentpoles and indies, with the former sitting around the $30 million to $40 million and way upwards, and the latter sitting below that. Former exec Tendo Nagenda, who joined the streamer from the four-quadrant heavy hitter Disney, oversaw films like the Russo brothers’ The Gray Man and the Extraction films, as well as the Knives Out franchise and The Old Guard. Nishimura’s team oversaw, well, most everything else.
