Track and field legend Sanya Richards-Ross is opening up about her battle against body shaming, the struggles of having a husband in the NFL and the devastating end to her athletic career in a new book to be released summer of 2017. "It's not a hardcore memoir, but I share a lot of personal stories and anecdotes about my successes and struggles on and off the track," Richards-Ross, 31, tells People. "I feel like everyone is just running this race of life and I'm hoping my own experiences can inspire some hope in my readers." In addition to the currently untitled book,...

She's ran in three Olympic games and won a total of five medals (four gold, one bronze) - but yes, Sanya Richards-Ross is still nervous for this year's Olympic trials. "Whenever you work really hard for something, and you want it so badly, it's natural to feel nervous," she told People at the launch of Technogym's Skillmill (she's an ambassador for the company). "But I do feel I am able to channel those nerves into adrenaline." Richards Ross has competed at four Olympic games: Athens in 2004, Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012, and she is prepping to do the same in Rio this summer.

Today was a busy day for some of the smaller guilds with the Visual Effects Society, the Cinema Audio Society, and the Makeup and Hairstylists Guilds all announcing their nominations for 2013.
First, we have the Ves, whose main category to look at is “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Feature Motion Picture,” where we find Gravity and four other nominees that are just going to have to be happy with the fact that they got nominated. This is perhaps the easiest category to call in the entirety of awards season, and I don’t mean just here, but for the Oscar as well (Last year’s winner, Life of Pi, easily took this category before going on to claim the Oscar). It’s true that films like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Star Trek Into Darkness had outstanding effects as well, but nothing even came close to the amazing,...

The Bourne Legacy is a tricky sequel. While it does follow the timeline of the first three films . and actually overlaps with The Bourne Ultimatum - the plot follows a completely different character, named Aaron Ross (Jeremy Renner), and features a whole new batch of supporting characters (including Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz). It was certainly a challenge for co-writer Dan Gilroy, co-writer/director Tony Gilroy and the cast, but they made it work and now they.re talking about how they did it. The Gilroys, Renner, Norton and Weisz recently came together for a press conference in Los Angeles to answer questions about the new Bourne movie, which is in theaters this Friday. Check out the conversation below in which they talk about maintaining a visual aesthetic from the first three films, shooting the film.s big action sequences, and the future of the franchise. Rachel, this is a...

Nearly a decade ago I did a script review of Rendezvous With Rama, a heady sci-fi movie based on the classic Arthur C. Clarke novel. In the book Clarke told the story of a mammoth cylindrical spaceship that flew by Earth a century from now. A team of astronauts were sent to land on the vessel, find a way in and make contact with the aliens inside it, if there were any.
At the time the movie was being developed by David Fincher (Fight Club, Seven, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and had Morgan Freeman attached to star as the captain of the Earth vessel. Even with a solid script and the involvement of Freeman and and Fincher, nobody wanted to cough up the $70 million it would've taken to make the movie a reality.
That's not good enough for two creative people out there. Philip Mahoney is a recent...

Now this should give you chills. Vancouver Film School student Philip Mahoney and visual artist Aaron Ross teamed up to create this trailer (via Cinema Blend) for an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's sci-fi novel Rendezvous with Rama. This is exciting to see because a Rendezvous with Rama movie has been in the works for a while, at one point with David Fincher and Morgan Freeman attached. Then we reported a few years ago that the project was dead, despite claims from producers otherwise. Now we have this amazing fan made trailer to hold us over, and give us a glimpse at what a Rendezvous with Rama movie might look like. Watch Philip Mahoney's fan made trailer for Rendezvous with Rama: If you couldn't pick this up from the trailer, Rendezvous with Rama is about a mysterious thirty-mile-long hollow cylindrical alien spaceship called Rama that one day drifts into our solar system.
