5 Characters We Could See In Prime Video's Spider-Man Noir - Main Image
MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video recently announced a new live-action adaptation of Spider-Man Noir. In addition to Nicolas Cage's portrayal of the alternate version of Spider-Man, several other characters could appear in the Noir series.
Set in 1930s New York City, fans are about to see a different Spider-Man in Noir. Compared to the usual bright red-and-blue Spider suit, Spider-Noir wears an all-black ensemble to tell a darker tale of the famous Wall Crawler.
But instead of using webs and sticking to the walls, he will be a gun-toting vigilante who prefers to parkour. In the place of supervillains, he will be fighting against corrupt politicians, crooked cops, and gangsters in his hometown of New York City.
So, here are the five characters we could see in Prime Video’s upcoming Spider-Man Noir.

Men in Black is one of those franchises that defined the late 1990s and the early 2000s, along with franchises like The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean. However, given that this was the time when Hollywood did not shy away from experimenting, Men in Black had an earlier draft that would probably have made it less palatable to general audiences.

The DVD of David Lynch's 2001 mystery "Mulholland Drive" came with a mystery of its own. Those who know David Lynch know that he loathes talking about his movies, and staunchly refuses to answer bothersome questions about their meaning. This is the man who famously declared his 1977 classic "Eraserhead" to be his most spiritual film. When asked to elucidate, Lynch simply said "No." For Lynch, all the answers are up on the screen. Any commentary is not only redundant but distracting; why watch a movie looking for an interpretation when one can simply experience it raw? This is why Lynch has never provided a commentary track for any of his movies, and why he hates chapter stops on DVDs and Blu-rays. Sit in a dark room, he says, and let the film enter your mind unadulterated.
This is why the paper insert in the 2002 "Mulholland Drive" release is so baffling.

Hugh Jackman took a break from saving the world as Wolverine to perform in the musical Les Misérables . But he almost backed out of the feature at the last minute because of the mounting pressure he felt for the movie.
Hugh Jackman almost backed out of ‘Les Misérables’
Jackman felt he had big shoes to fill when he was cast as Jean Valjean in the 2012 musical. There had been several adaptations for Victor Hugo’s 1862 famous novel ever since the story’s inception. Keeping in mind the amount of actors who portrayed Jackman’s Jean Valjean before him, the actor started to get cold feet.
“Honestly, there was a moment where I was considering pulling out [of the film],” Jackman once said according to Contact Music. “I’d just had a bad day at rehearsals and all I kept hearing was all the other great people that played the role, and I said,...

John Leguizamo is looking back on his would-be superhero debut in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and claims that he could have been entangled in a web of a lawsuit against studio Sony over his casting process.
Leguizamo had previously confirmed in 2023 that after Michael Keaton originally turned down the role of Vulture, Leguizamo was about to film in the role. However, Keaton later returned and was cast in the part.
Leguizamo told Business Insider that any other actor “would have sued” the studio for that. “We went through a huge negotiation period, and we had agreed on terms,” he said. “I hadn’t signed a contract, but we had agreed. I think those are suable terms.”
Leguizamo added that he would be open to making joining a different superhero franchise after that experience, perhaps even in the DC. “I would if I was offered The Riddler or some part like that,” he said.

John Leguizamo is by far one of the most recognizable Latino names in Hollywood, and the actor frequently comments and speaks up when he sees injustice being done, not only to him but to his co-stars and actors as well. Especially when it comes to the portrayal of Latinos in Hollywood and the issues of ethnic representation.
But, before he was known for that, Leguizamo was known for taking part in some of the biggest franchises in the industry. He gained widespread recognition for his roles in films such as ‘Carlito’s Way,’ ‘To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar,’ ‘Romeo + Juliet,’ the ‘Ice Age’ franchise, ‘The Kick-Ass’ franchise, and even the ‘John Wick’ franchise. But did you know that Leguizamo also almost played the Vulture in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’?

In the world of comic books and their movie adaptations, no names come close to the behemoth production houses of Marvel and DC. The studio houses of the respective comic giants have held onto their cinematic universes and solo movies for decades now. In this aspect, Spider-Man from the former and Batman from the latter stands out as not only two of the most widely recognized superheroes around the world but also the characters with the most flicks to their name.
In this saga, two actors, namely John Leguizamo and Jim Carrey, carry their own distinct and disappointing tales of playing villains for such adaptations. While Marvel literally snatched the role out of the former’s hands, the latter’s outing as one of the most famed villains of DC turned out to be one of the worst iterations in comic book history. Florence Pugh and director Ari Aster’s Midsommar is probably one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of cinema that has ever been released. From the slow and methodical approach to horror through beauty to the anti-climatic ending, Midsommar truly followed in the footsteps of its forefather Hereditary.

Quentin Tarantino felt that he could have directed Wes Craven’s Scream. He took some shots at Craven’s version of the story. However, Tarantino admitted that he was terrified by one of Craven’s earlier films when he was a child.
Quentin Tarantino felt Wes Craven stopped ‘Scream’ from achieving its potential
During a 2015 interview with Vulture, Tarantino was asked if he wanted to direct any franchise movies. “I could have imagined doing the first Scream,” he said. “The Weinsteins were trying to get Robert Rodriguez to do it. I don’t even think they thought I would be interested.” For context, Rodriguez has worked with Tarantino on multiple occasions. Most famously, they each directed a film from the double feature Grindhouse.

Last year, John Leguizamo revealed that he was in talks with Marvel Studios to play the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Though Michael Keaton ultimately signed on to play the character, the Batman actor was reportedly hesitant to commit at first, and Marvel had Leguizamo lined up in case negotiations fell through.
Apparently, Leguizamo was told that the role was his prior to Keaton agreeing to play the part.
“I was supposed to be the Vulture,” Leguizamo said at the time. “We had negotiated and I was about to play him, and they said that Michael Keaton wanted it back and they asked me if I would give it up. John Leguizamo has been a champion of Latino actors in Hollywood, but when the industry tried to diminish his talent, he made sure he would keep his head high. That’s what happened when an iconic role was almost handed to him, and the studio took it back.

This post contains spoilers for "Midsommar."
The arrival at Hårga village in Ari Aster's "Midsommar" seems harmonious at first — perhaps, a bit too harmonious, with everyone donning stark white and plastered smiles till the illusion of sanctity shatters. This happens halfway through the film after the first feast ends, where the oldest members of the commune wilfully jump off a cliff, completing the Ättestupa ritual in excessively violent ways. When the male elder is still alive after his jump, his legs bent and cracked due to the impact, the villagers mock his pain and smash his head in over and over with a massive mallet. The visceral shock of the scene is intensified by the anxiety of what might happen after, as it is clear that the Ättestupa is just the beginning of a fever dream designed to torment and disorient.

John Leguizamo recently revealed to Business Insider some of the roles he regrets turning down the most throughout his career. They include Stanley Tucci’s role as Nigel in “The Devil Wears Prada,” Robin Williams’ voice role in “Happy Feet” and Vince Vaughn’s role in the 2005 action movie “Mrs. and Mrs. Smith.” Vaughn starred opposite Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the latter film.
“I had my reasons. I mean, they’re stupid, but I had my reasons,” Leguizamo said about these decisions, adding that it was a salary concern that resulted in him turning down “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” The actor said he was offered to work for scale on the film, while Pitt and Jolie were getting a $20 million payday. Reports have surfaced over the years that it was Pitt who got $20 million, while Jolie earned $10 million.

It’s official. Galactus is coming to the MCU.
After months of speculation, Marvel officially announced that they’ve found their Galactus. Ralph Ineson, a Game of Thrones veteran known for standout supporting roles in The Witch and The Green Knight, will portray the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson’s casting comes on the heels of other compelling announcements for its upcoming film The Fantastic Four, including Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich. Marvel hasn’t yet disclosed which characters those two are playing, but the smart money has Hauser down for the Mole Man. Malkovich could fit a number of characters, including minor baddies Puppet Master or Diablo, including just a grouchy official. Heck, maybe he’ll finally get to play a version of the Vulture, as he was slated to do in Sam Raimi’s abandoned Spider-Man 4!
While any of those baddies would be fun, the Galactus casting deserves the most attention.

The idyllic countryside in the South of France is all that the veteran Oscar-nominee John Malkovich needs to be content in life. But Hollywood has other plans for the eccentric star, especially when it comes to Sony, Marvel, and Spider-Man. The interlinked fate of these 3 problematic entities has not only become a troublesome hurdle for the studios but poses a great risk to the future of the IP.
However, with the arrival of billion-dollar contracts and deafening audience excitement, Sony and Marvel signed a treatise to secure and exploit Spider-Man to their mutual benefit. MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, Sony’s rebooted Spider-Man universe with Venom, Morbius, and Madame Web, and its animated Spider-Verse trilogy are a product of this shared dream.

Back in 2009, John Malkovich was set to join the Marvel universe as Vulture in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. As we know, that project was scrapped, but the actor will be getting a second chance at Marvel fame as Deadline reports that John Malkovich has joined the cast of The Fantastic Four.
Exactly who Malkovich will be playing in The Fantastic Four is being kept under wraps, but he joins a cast which includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic; Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman; Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, Julia Garner as the Shalla-Bal version of the Silver Surfer, and Paul Walter Hauser in an undisclosed role.

John Leguizamo is reflecting on the roles that got away.
In an interview with Business Insider, the actor was asked about movies he’s turned down that he now regrets. “Oh yeah, The Devil Wears Prada, the Stanley Tucci part [as Nigel],” Leguizamo revealed.

Alejandro González Iñárritu's Oscar-winning film "Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)" was a pretty ballsy move to make in 2014. The film stars Michael Keaton as actor Riggan Thompson, a once-massive Hollywood action star who has aged out of action roles. Notably, Riggan starred in three crowd-pleasing superhero movies about Birdman, a Batman-like vigilante. Keaton, of course, played Batman in 1989, 1991, and 2023.
Riggan is set to star in a high-profile Broadway production, hoping to prove to himself and the world that he is a pliable and capable actor, not merely a nostalgia-laced superhero figure. There is a lot of dialogue in "Birdman" about how superhero movies are the antithesis of art and that superhero actors are aggressively robbed of their thespian instincts. Good actors, Riggan complains, are ripped from meaningful projects and thrust into commercial FX bonanzas where they are expected to do little beyond pose and wear silly costumes.

Don't let the bastards grind you down! If you don't like what they're saying, change the conversation.
If you've been along for the wild ride that has been Elisabeth Moss' prolific television career over the last two decades, then you probably recognize these quotes from two of her well-known shows.
If not, then you've come to the right place for a crash course in the "Queen of Peak TV." And while Vulture absolutely nailed it with that moniker, they left out the fact that she has a well-established film career.
Luckily, we haven't missed that important fact.
Seriously. The list of films and television shows that Elisabeth Moss has been in spans further than some of our readers' lifetimes.
Her agelessness is right up there with Paul Rudd and Halle Berry.
So, in celebrating the premiere of her new show The Veil on Hulu, here are ten of Elisabeth Moss's greatest hits.

While fans are desperately waiting to finally see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson embrace his new look as the Captain in his upcoming solo movie Captain America 4, they aren’t too sure about Danny Ramirez’s beloved character Joaquín Torres. In fact, if anything, they are deeply worried about the latter’s character in the movie after recent updates about Captain America: Brave New World.
Captain America: Brave New World (2025) | Marvel Studios
A major reason behind this reaction from fans is the superhero costume that Ramirez would be sporting in the film after his character replaced Wilson to become the new Falcon. And as much as they hate to admit it, seeing him in his new look has fans feeling that he looks more like the Vulture from the Spider-Man saga than anywhere close to how perfect Wilson looked as the superhero.

Jessica Lange spoke critically of present-day Hollywood during a recent interview with Vulture, saying “there should be a law against it” when the topic came up about Warner Bros. Discovery axing already-shot movies like “Batgirl” and “Coyote vs. Acme” for tax write-off purposes. This topic became a launching pad for some of Lange’s wider criticisms of today’s entertainment industry.
“We’re living in a corporate world and it certainly has rolled over into the film industry,” Lange said. “So much of the industry now is not about the creative process. Obviously, this is not across the board, but there are many instances where I feel like the artistic impulse is overwhelmed by the corporate profit motive. Kevin Costner is set to take on four different responsibilities this summer, as a director, co-writer, producer, and a leading star in his two-part theatrical franchise, Horizon: An American Saga. With the plot of the film series surrounding the American West during the Civil War period, Costner is once again set to appear in a Western drama.

While the actor holds high hopes for his Horizon saga, there might be one star who would be less than impressed with Kevin Costner’s upcoming Western film series. It’s none other than Lily Gladstone, who previously offered her harsh criticism for Yellowstone, ahead of starring in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon.

For an entire generation, Batman meant Michael Keaton. He brought the Dark Knight to life in not one, but two films that helped make Batman arguably the greatest superhero of all time. Decades later, he defied the law of aging by effortlessly slipping back into the cowl for “The Flash”.
A still from The Batman (1989)
Oh, and in between, he also jumped ships to the MCU as Vulture to make things difficult for our Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. With all this exposure, one might expect Keaton to be a walking encyclopedia of comic book lore. In reality, however, he might just be the most delightfully clueless superhero actor out there.

This past weekend, Ryan Gosling hosted a spectacular episode of "Saturday Night Live." There wasn't a single bad sketch among the bunch that debuted on the staple late-night comedy series, but there was one clear standout that had pretty much everyone involved breaking.
During a News Nation panel about artificial intelligence featuring Kenan Thompson as an expert on the subject being interviewed by Heidi Gardner, a distraction emerges in the audience in the form of two young men who happen to look uncannily like live-action versions of the animated characters Beavis and Butt-Head, from Mike Judge's comedy series of the same name. If you need a refresher or you missed the sketch over the weekend, take a look below:
Gosling appeared as Beavis, complete with an elongated, prosthetic nose and a big blonde pompadour haircut. After he's moved to avoid any more distraction, he's replaced with Mikey Day as Butt-Head,...

Killmonger so far appeared in 2 MCU projects (not counting ‘What….If?’) but according to recent polls, he’s been voted as the 5th best villain to ever grace the MCU screens.
Killmonger’s greatness as a villain lies in his multifaceted character traits. His motivations are purely derived from personal and systemic oppression, as he aims to use Wakanda’s resources for global liberation. He has a relatively sympathetic backstory, and it certainly helps that he was portrayed with depth and emotion, by Michael B. Jordan’s charismatic performance.
The results are taken from Ranker’s poll of MCU villains, with 53 names on the list, I have to admit I was surprised by some choices. Thanos naturally took the number 1 spot, and I’m not sure whether this will change, even with the introduction of a new villain. Michael Keaton is not new to starring in comic book films. From Batman to Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor has won over fans with his portrayal of iconic characters over the years. He is very versatile too, and hence can play both a hero and a villain very convincingly.
Keaton is one of the most sought-after stars too, and he has made several interesting cameos throughout his career. However, his appearance in Morbius left fans scratching their heads. Funnily enough, Keaton was as clueless about his role in the film as the fans.

Heidi Gardner admits she left the Saturday Night Live stage in “a little bit in shock” after breaking character during the viral “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch.
During the sketch in Saturday’s episode hosted by Ryan Gosling, Gardner portrayed a NewsNation host who must confront two town-hall attendees distracting everyone because they look like Beavis (Gosling) and Butt-Head (Mikey Day). But when looking at Day’s Butt-Head, Gardner immediately broke into laughter, causing a collective laughter in the audience. Given it’s a rarity for Gardner to break, her reaction quickly circulated online with many joining her in the laughs.
When reflecting on the sketch to Vulture, the SNL star said that despite the rehearsals being fun, she never got “the sense that this would be a nuclear moment for me.” She explained that during rehearsals they were “still working out the particular blocking” of the sketch, including sorting out how and where to look,...

There was a lot of breaking character during the April 13 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” hosted by Ryan Gosling, but no one broke harder than Heidi Gardner during the now-infamous “Beavis and Butt-Head” sketch. Before she was one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Julia Roberts was apparently subject to on-set mistreatment by the late director Herb Ross. Ross, who died in 2001, directed Roberts in one of her earliest hits, the heartfelt 1989 drama "Steel Magnolias." When the movie hit theaters, Roberts was just four months away from becoming a major celebrity thanks to the success of "Pretty Women." But in a recent interview with Vulture, her "Steel Magnolias" costar says Roberts, then in her early 20s, was subject to tough treatment by Ross.
"Herb was very, very, very hard on Julia," Sally Field told the outlet in February. "If you ever talk to Julia, she'll tell you." She continued: "We would all rally around Julia, because she was the baby. She was sort of the newcomer." In the film, Roberts plays Shelby, the daughter to Field's M'Lynn who suffers from diabetes. Amazon has committed a big mistake with its new Prime Video release, Fallout, a series based on the video game series of the same name. It has received great reviews from critics as well as audiences, however, the chatter about the series hasn’t lived up to the quality of the series. One of the major reasons for this buzzkill might be Amazon going out of its way to release all the episodes of the series in a single go.

The studio earlier faced major criticism for the delay in releasing its Invincible episodes. Fans were unhappy with the break between the episodes, which may have prompted the studio to go for a binge model, like its competitor Netflix.

Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy is arguably the most significant for the web-slinger in live-action adaptations. It enjoyed considerable success, with each film grossing over $800 million worldwide. Raimi had ambitious plans for sequels, but ‘Spider-Man 3’ marked the end for both him and Tobey Maguire, who portrayed Spider-Man impeccably.
Unfortunately, ‘Spider-Man 3’ was widely considered the weakest of the franchise, a fact that Raimi regrets not being able to rectify. Despite the series concluding nearly two decades ago, it remains a topic of discussion, leading to the discovery of new insights into its production.
Dylan Baker is well-known for his role as Dr. Curt Connors, Peter Parker’s college professor, who played a crucial supporting role in ‘Spider-Man 3.’ In the film, Peter discovers the origin and nature of the symbiote. Back in 2007, director Sam Raimi showed interest in exploring Dr. Curt Connors’ transformation into the villainous character teased since ‘Spider-Man 2’ – The Lizard.

Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy is likely the most important for the web-slinger when it comes to live-action portrayals. It was a major success as each installment managed to gross over $800 million worldwide. It’s no secret that Raimi had plans for sequels, and many of them at that, but ‘Spider-Man 3′ marked the end for both Raimi and Maguire who embodied the role of Spider-Man so perfectly.
‘Spider-Man 3’ was by far the most weakest of the franchise, and Raimi is regretful he never managed to redeem this. The series is still talked about to this day which is why we’re learning some new tidbits about it close to 2 decades after the franchise concluded.
Dylan Baker famously played Dr. Curt Connors Peter Parker’s college professor, and he played a vital supporting role in ‘Spider-Man 3’ in which Peter figured out the origin and the nature of the symbiote.

From 2002 to 2007, director Sam Raimi helmed three Spider-Man movies for Sony. The films starred Tobey Maguire as the title hero, and they were all massive hits, pushing open the door for a superhero renaissance that dominated the 2010s. The series ended when "Spider-Man 3," despite making nearly $900 million at the worldwide box office, wasn't as big a hit as the studio wanted. The budget for that film was also wildly high, costing as much as $350 million to make, and fans weren't as excited by the sloppy storytelling and strange Venom storyline.
Rather than push ahead with "Spider-Man 4," Sony elected to wait five years and reboot the continuity with "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 2012. That continuity was short-lived, ending in 2014 with the release of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Fan goodwill was at an all-time low. From there, a tertiary Spider-Man appeared in the now-flourishing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While the MCU may now be satisfying the hunger of comic book fans with every major superhero and supervillain making an appearance in the MCU, there’s a certain charm to the films in Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy which makes them unforgettable.
Even after the untimely conclusion of the original series more than a decade and a half ago, fans still fondly remember the iconic moments that those films left for the industry.

Although the trilogy is revered as one of the best, the last film is pretty controversial since it led to the downfall of the franchise. And now, according to one of the stars from the originals, the next installment was aiming to do the same thing by introducing multiple new villains like The Lizard and The Vulture all at once, which had proven fatal for it before.

Sam Raimi had big success with the ‘Spider-Man’ movies, each earning over $800 million worldwide. But plans for more films fell apart due to script problems. Judd Apatow does not believe comedy movies are dead in theaters. While the genre has largely moved to streaming in recent years, Apatow recently told Vulture that all it will take is one comedy blockbuster in theaters to swing the pendulum away from streaming. Actually, that may have already happened in his eyes.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has been a unique addition to the MCU, which turned into a massive hit, followed by two further sequels. Now, as the film deeply connects to the larger universe, Michael Keaton appeared as Adrian Toomes, who was featured in the installment as a villain, solely because he couldn’t make a living by stealing equipment from past battles involving the Avengers.

Following this plotline of Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture, fans wondered how a guy like him knew about operating and understanding the mechanics of his flight rig. Thereafter, a theory originated which reasoned why Toomes was so adept at his technology and flight. But while the theory offered a justification, it also created a connection between The Vulture and The Falcon.

Actor Walton Goggins collaborated with Quentin Tarantino for the 2015 feature The Hateful Eight. And although he had a good time on set, Goggins asserted that the experience could be a bit nerve-racking due to who he worked with.

Goggins and Tarantino already collaborated before the 2015 movie The Hateful Eight. The pair worked together on Django Unchained, where the pair became familiar with each other on set. But beyond Django, Tarantino was also a fan of Goggins’ work on Justified. Given how much he enjoyed the actor’s performance, there was little wonder as to why Tarantino would recruit Goggins again for The Hateful Eight.
But Hateful Eight would have Goggins act alongside even more star-power than Django Unchained did. And Goggins admitted that could be overwhelming at times.

Judd Apatow is opening up about the current state of television and why he finds it “scary” that Netflix can license shows from HBO.
The writer-director-producer told Vulture in a recent interview that licensing pacts between streaming giants is just going to lead to viewers getting “fewer new shows.”
“I’m of two minds,” Apatow explained. “There’s a part of me that’s an audience member: I’ll go back and rewatch Deadwood or NYPD Blue or any of the David Milch shows. I understand why people like the comfort food of television.”
The This Is 40 writer-director continued, “But it’s a scary thing as a creator of television, because of all the streamers going, ‘Wait a second. We don’t need to spend $200 million on a new show. We can just bring back Barnaby Jones.’ They’re going to do it, then you’ll get fewer new shows.

UFC champion and professional boxer Conor McGregor just made his acting debut alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the 2024 remake of Road House. Although an exceptional fighter, McGregor has far been receiving mixed reviews from fans and critics.

Yet one thing about his portrayal really stood out among the audience, his nakedness during the initial one minute of his character’s introduction. While McGregor himself accepted it was a bit too much nudity, Mma fans are certainly shocked, to say the least.

Cinema history is full of missed opportunities. For example, a Beatles movie almost featured David Bowie as a character from a Beatles song. Instead, a famous comedian got the role. A member of the film’s cast revealed what she thought about this development.
David Bowie almost played Mr. Kite in a Beatles movie
Across the Universe is a Fab Four jukebox musical set in a heightened version of the 1960s. Several characters in the movie are named after figures from Beatles songs, including Jude, Lucy, Maxwell, Sexy Sadie, and Mr. Kite.
During a 2018 interview with Vulture, director Julie Taymor discussed the role of Mr. Kite. “We rehearsed it like a normal musical in theater … and it bonded everybody,” he said. “I’ll never forget [star] Evan [Rachel Wood] walking in the hallways with this Bowie T-shirt, because at one point we’d asked David Bowie if he was going to play Mr.
