One of Marvel’s most beloved heroes takes center stage next month and you’re not going to want to miss it… Fans have already gotten a glimpse of Mary Jane Watson in the Free Comic Book Day issue of Marvel’s upcoming series, Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1, and Marvel has enlisted some of comics’ most acclaimed artists to reimagine the fan-favorite in the shoes of iconic heroes such as Doctor Strange, Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine and more. Says Marvel Svp Sales & Marketing David Gabriel:
Both the Gwen Stacy Variant Program and this month’s Venomized Variant Program were such runaway successes, we couldn’t help but try to top ourselves. And with Chip Zdarsky and Adam Kubert’s new Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man book on the horizon, the timing couldn’t have been better to put the spotlight on fan-favorite Mary Jane Watson.

You know that Thursday-evening feeling you’ve been getting this fall? You’re tired, achy, sour, and run-down. Your jaw starts clicking again. You sneer at people with that angry little badger face of yours, especially when they say things like, “You could watch Two and a Half Men.” No! Shut that down!
Clearly, you’re suffering from 30 Rock withdrawal, and I can relate. I fear I may never be cheerful again because everything is the worst. My Lemon deficiency is growing more grave by the day, and because tooth retention is pretty important to me, Dr. Spaceman sees no possible cure. The only way I’ve discovered to manage the symptoms is by stuffing myself so full of night cheese that I just pass out by 8:30.
But maybe there’s another way. Perhaps through constant reminiscing and careful evaluation, I can gain some handle on my 30 Rock situation.

We're still in the denial phase of grieving the loss of 30 Rock. It can't be real! We do not accept this! 30 Rock will air forever, and we're all going to die on the same day at the same time, when the sun eats the Earth. Until then, though, let's reflect fondly on some unsung heroes of 30 Rock. Not the marquee guest stars — though they are great — but the obscure, tangential, brief characters we came to love.1. Jim Carrey/Dave Williams ("Leap Day")As if the invention of Leap Day William weren't special enough, there was the added bonus of an in-universe terrible rom-com, starring Jim Carrey and Andie McDowell. 2. Moonvest Moonvest — a gnarly homeless guy whom Kenneth maybe kind of believes is CBS president Les Moonves — makes a few appearances over the years, first in "Head and the Hair" but also later in "Up All Night" (as...

Drowning Pool have said that their "singer switch" is over now that Jasen Moreno is their new frontman. The band were led by vocalist Dave Williams from 1999 until 2002, when he died from a previously undiagnosed heart condition. Jason Jones replaced Williams but left the group in 2004, and his replacement Ryan McCombs quit to rejoin his former group SOiL last November. "It's been a real pleasure for all of us working with Jasen Moreno," said guitarist Cj Pierce on Facebook. "He jumped right in and stepped up to the plate. He's everything we hoped for in a singer. Jasen came in and got straight to work on new music for our next CD." He continued: "Out of respect to all past singers and most importantly the Drowning Pool fans he learned every (more)...

We’ve seen quite a few posters from Dave Williams now and personally, I think this latest one for TV show, Homeland is among his best work. I put up the trailer for Season 2 of the hit show earlier today and soon after, Dave sent over the shots of his latest poster which was designed based around season 1.
It shows Nicholas Brody played by Damien Lewis front and centre using his hair colour as the main background colour of the poster bring him out in front. Dave states the following with the poster for what he tried to achieve with it. It contains a mild spoiler:
Its a bit different from my usual style but I aimed to show the ongoing split personality of Sgt. Brody through the design.
At the moment its unavailable to purchase but you can keep track of all his work on his blog or click...

Welcome back to This Week In DVD and the last day of February! Well, what should be the last day but is instead actually the 2nd to last thanks to the shenanigans of the evil and gilled Leap Dave Williams. I Melt With You Four old college friends (Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe, Christian McKay, Jeremy Piven) get together annually for a drug-fueled weekend, but their latest reunion finds each of them at the lowest point of their lives. 30 Rock, Season 6, Episode 8, “Leap Day”
Written by Luke Del Tredici
Directed by Steve Buscemi
Airs Thursdays at 8pm Et on NBC
After a dismal Valentine’s Day episode that made it look like it might finally be time to write 30 Rock off, they follow up the deliriously sublime “The Tuxedo Begins” with “Leap Day” and it’s starting to look like the show may have regained its spark. The host of traditions they’ve established for February 29th is remarkably thorough, complete with it’s own holiday-movie. Leap Dave Williams, starring Jim Carrey and Andie MacDowell, seems to possess the cultural cache of Groundhog Day or Christmas Vacation, featuring a bevy of quotes everyone is constantly spouting such as “It’s Leap Day! Real life is for March!”

"Leap Day" was an episode of 30 Rock I respected a whole lot more than I laughed at.
Between the creation of this fictitious holiday, everyone's absurd involvement in the day's festivities and especially the development and execution of the faux movie starring Jim Carrey, the outing was a lot of fun, if not all that overtly funny.
Steve Buscemi, who earned his second 30 Rock directing credit this week, made the episode enjoyable. Everyone watching Kenneth direct traffic as the office's very own Leap Day William, or the fantastic transitions between Leap Day past, present, and future for Jack, are a couple of examples of the magical feeling to the half hour.
Sure, there were some outright funny moments, but not nearly as many as the standard episode of 30 Rock. Tracy thinking that Dot Com is his imaginary friend is absolutely hilarious, especially when Dot Com continues to give him evidence to the contrary.

We’re days away from the 65th annual BAFTA awards and to kick off our coverage of the event we’ve teamed up with the very talented Dave Williams, whose work we’ve posted before on the site, who has created this rather wonderful poster for us.
We’ll be live at the awards on Sunday night to bring you all of the awards as they are announced. It’s always a fun night so do join us from 6.30. In the meantime feast your eyes on this lovely poster Dave has put together, inspired by the Wrestling posters of old.

I always appreciate guys like Dave Williams who can take an existing product and make it cooler. Dave, a graphic designer by trade, spends his free time on posters like these re-interpretations of Marvel’s recent slate of 2011 movies — “Thor”, “Captain America”, and “X-Men: First Class”. Anyone interested in purchasing the below prints can head over to Dave’s site here. He also has plenty of other re-interpretations to look at, including a groovy series for the “Back to the Future” movie franchise. And hey, Forrest Gump fans, this one’s for you (click to enlarge the poster below to get the full Gump experience)...

It’s 2012 and Dave Williams has opened the year with an awesome new poster focusing around the fabulous movie, Forrest Gump. The 1994 Robert Zemeckis film has to be in my top 10 all-time favourite movies and I simply love this new poster that Dave has made. It basically shows Forrest (played by Tom Hanks in the movie) in many of the situations that he finds himself in during the film using the letter ‘F’ from being a fisherman, a famous celebrity and a fruit company shareholder!
This poster is available to purchase on Dave’s website but you can click it below to enlarge. Love it! You can see all of our posts featuring Dave’s work here.

Hi Lee,
I've just read your online review of Red, White and Zero and thought I'd clear up some of the mysteries surrounding MGM's DVD release before someone else does! The title given to the DVD is in fact the intended title of the three-part omnibus film you mention, which seems never to have been shown commercially in its complete form, though both other parts were in fact completed and still exist. The White Bus is the correct and, to the best of my knowledge, only release title of Lindsay Anderson's contribution; the composite title was never used.
Tony Richardson's episode was called Red and Blue and starred Vanessa Redgrave and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. (!) It's a short romantic musical, seemingly influenced (like much of Richardson's 1960s work) by the French New Wave and especially Jacques Demy. It was the supporting featurette...

Another great piece of artwork from designer Dave Williams, this time he’s given us his rendition of Jurassic Park, which is currently enjoying a run back on the big screen here in the UK.
If you’ve not seen Dave’s work before he’s done some great work in the past with his recent trio of Marvel Studios films being a highlight, all his work is online here and we’ve featured many of his posters on HeyUGuys in recent months.
My favourite bit of this poster? The lawyer’s legs. Genius.
Here’s the poster, clicking will make it big.

We’ve featured artist Dave Williams’ poster work on the site before but I think he’s outdone himself this time.
If you’ve not seen his work before then pop on over to his website www.davewilliamsdesigns.blogspot.com; the recent line of Marvel inspired poster artwork is particularly good but fans of all things Back to the Future should also check out his tribute posters there too. Maybe one day we’ll convince him to do a Bill & Ted one, eh?
The campaign for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy has benefited from some excellent poster work but I think the subtlety and stark design on Dave’s take on it is my favourite piece of work so far. Dave does sell his posters on his website and if there’s demand for it then he says he’ll put this one up for sale as well. If you want one then let him know!

We’ve featured the work of artist Dave Williams before, notably his excellent Back to the Future posters which you can find here, and now he’s generously designed and donated this one-off print to the Convoy of Hope charity.
In it Dave has taken some of the most iconic heroes (with a few choice villains thrown in for balance) from movies, TV, comics and cartoons and rendered them in a lovely ‘lo-fi’ stlye, which makes going through and identifying them an excellent way to spend some time. We managed to pick out most of them, but some are still foxing us – perhaps you can do better?

He’s just given us a heads up on his latest work which coincides with tomorrow’s release of X-Men: First Class and yet again it’s amazing!

Dave is a freelance designer and is selling these prints from his website here where you can find more of his work. Keep your eyes peeled for no doubt more awesome pieces in the coming months.

If you have a parrot, you know that teaching them to talk is not an exact science. In fact, it can actually be pretty similar to teaching a child basic words. You can spend days repeating the same word or phrase, only to have them pick up on some choice words you muttered when you stubbed your toe. In this particular case, we have a bird who has learned a decade-old alternative metal hit—with a growl that rivals the late Dave Williams’ original vocals to boot! It’s the kind of thing that takes the edge off of a Monday back...

Jeers to Scoundrels for not living up to its title.
ABC's summer crime dramedy (at least I think it's trying to be funny) suffered a huge loss when Neal McDonough was reportedly sacked after three days of production because the devout Catholic refused to shoot sex scenes with costar Virginia Madsen. McDonough brings a riveting malevolence to every role he plays, from sleazy Da David McNorris on Boomtown to psycho killer Dave Williams on Desperate Housewives. He surely would've lived up to the name of Palm Springs crime family patriarch Wolfgang "Wolf" West.
Here's the real crime: McDonough was replaced by David James Elliott, a likably generic TV hunk best known for his role as straight-arrow military man Harmon "Harm" Rabb on Jag. But on Scoundrels, Elliott seems...

Likely candidate for S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Dum Dum Dugan
Neal McDonough may be the latest name to join the Marvel Universe, in talks to star as Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, according to Deadline.
McDonough is no stranger to the Marvel Universe, having voiced the character of Dr. Bruce Banner in the 1996 "Incredible Hulk" cartoon series, but is best known for appearances in Minority Report, Star Trek: First Contact and as Dave Williams in the fifth season of "Desperate Housewives."
Dugan, in the comic book series, is the right-hand man to Nick Fury and his team, the Howling Commandos, a military division of S.H.I.E.L.D. He is characterized by a bowler hat and a large mustache and, like the real-life McDonough, hails from Massachusetts.

For good reason, says creator Marc Cherry. He tells TV Guide Magazine that viewers will discover the identity of the Fairview Strangler on that date, as another familiar face falls victim to this individual.
“I thought we could have some fun if the audience knew who the killer was before the rest of the people on Wisteria Lane,” Cherry said, adding that the killer will be revealed on the show's May finale.
So, who is it? One of the six suspects listed below...
Orson Hodge
Rationale: “All the women who have been attacked thus far have been redheads, and another girl with red hair will soon go missing,” said Cherry, teasing this could be the result of Orson’s subliminal anger toward Bree.
Roy Bender

One of the most volatile TV couples is back.
Former "Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan is set as the lead opposite Paul Kaye in Ant Hines' comedy pilot presentation for CBS.
Meanwhile, Neal McDonough, who played Sheridan's psycho husband who ultimately led to her character's demise in a freaky car accident, will star opposite Virginia Madsen on ABC's dramedy series "Scoundrels."
Hines' semi-scripted presentation, directed by Larry Charles, stars English actor Paul Kaye as a British lowlife moving to L.A. to reconnect with his daughter, a precocious teen superstar.
Returning to her Blighty roots, British born-and-raised Sheridan will play the girl's outrageous stage mother and the deadbeat dad's long-lost love. She is managed by 3 Arts.
The project marks a reunion for "Borat" and "Bruno" alums Hines and Charles.

Marc Cherry has revealed that fans of Desperate Housewives helped him decide how to resolve last season's cliffhanger. During the fifth season finale, the character of Mike Delfino (played by James Denton) stood at the altar with a mystery bride, after leaving fiancée Katherine (Dana Delany) on their wedding day to rescue his young son Mj (Mason Vale Cotton) and ex-wife Susan (Teri Hatcher) from kidnapper Dave Williams (Neal McDonough). The series creator told Entertainment Weekly that the bride's initial identity was to be Katherine, until viewers informed him that they would rather see Susan and Mike reconcile. He said: "I originally was going to have Mike marry Katherine, but as I went out into the world on vacation and just started talking to (more)...

The women of Wisteria have come a long way since their first season. Each has had their share of tragedies, affairs and crimes committed and each has their own stash of secrets they don’t tell the other four matriarchs. The fifth season of Desperate Housewives sees the return of Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) and a new sordid batch of dirty tricks and loathsome dealings in the murky waters America affectionately calls suburbia. The drama matches the series’ par but never has one of those crowning moments that set past seasons apart.
Susan Meyer (Teri Hatcher) has a new and younger man in her life (Gale Harold), but she finds her relationship with him tainted by the ease with which he and Susan’s ex-husband Mike (James Denton) get along. The two men seem to bond right from the start, though some friction remains as Mike vies for the affection...

We're finally here, folks! It's the two-hour season finale of Desperate Housewives, which is technically two self-contained, one-hour episodes — so I've recapped them separately. Bree and Orson's divorce battle heats up fo' realz, with Karl on the scene stoking the fire with devilish glee. Gaby and Carlos inherit an unruly teenager. Lynette receives some life-changing news from the doctor, just as Tom's midlife crisis pops up again. Plus, Lily Tomlin is back to help the idiot cops connect the dots of Dave Williams' murderous plan for revenge, which finally kicks into gear. Its resolution is somewhat surprising, in that its aftermath prompts further revelations that set up interesting developments for Season 6. Read on to find out how it all went down...

After an on-screen kiss between Susan and Jessie, "Desperate Housewives" moves on with another shocking upturn. This may as well be the episode where a main character is dead. Nicollette Sheridan who plays Edie Brit had announced her departure from the show by having her character killed in an electric shock.
The March 22 episode is aptly called "A Spark to Pierce the Dark". Bree considers selling her business to save her marriage, Lynette is threatened by her new boss, boundaries are crossed for Gaby and Carlos, Katherine is caught in the most unexpected of circumstances and Edie's worst fears come true.
Spoiled previously, Edie's death will take an effect on the remaining housewives who must now find Edie's 15-year-old son Travers to inform him about his mother's death. The housewives are set for a road trip that turns out to be a good bonding experience.

Not long after ABC's Desperate Housewives returns this Sunday at 9 pm/Et, Dave Williams will be ready — oh yes, very ready — for his camping excursion with Mike and Katherine. Having packed a firearm along with his sleeping bag and bug repellent, Neal McDonough says his off-kilter character is "well-equipped to do some devastation on the campground. And the way I go about it is pretty twisted."
In this video Q&A, McDonough also talks of leading lady Nicollette Sheridan's upcoming and "fantastic" send-off, the prospect of Dave having a kinder twin brother, and how this season of Housewives will have a "killer" finale (that's at the 2:00 mark).
All of which begs the question: Could Neal possibly be back next season? Get his answer to that at the 2:25 mark.
The sit-down wraps up with McDonough reflecting on how two gents named Spielberg and Hanks saved his acting career.

Just prior to joining Desperate Housewives in the role of slippery (and scary!) Dave Williams, Neal McDonough channeled a videogame villain for the big-screen action flick Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (now in theaters). "That was a blast," Neal raves in this video Q&A. "We went to Thailand for three months, my family came with me, and I got to play Bison, who is just a mess of a character."
McDonough goes on to detail some tweaking they did to the Bison character, as well as talk about he and Smallville alumna Kristin Kreuk (as Street Fighter's titular heroine) "kicked the snot" out of each other in fight scenes. Check it all out after the jump.

Happy Valentine's Day Eve! It's sort of like Christmas Eve, only instead of hanging stockings on the chimney with care, you're hanging up on local florists who try to gouge you on the cost of a dozen red roses. Well I am anyway, because I'm one cheap bastard. Curse you florists of Ftd!
Grousing about the price of flowers aside, this is one of my favorite times of the year! It brings back fond memories of elementary school when you would distribute candy and paper valentines to all your classmates, little boys and girls alike. See, you had to give a Valentine's Day card to everyone — even kids you hated. But you got around this forced equanimity by writing special messages on certain cards. Messages like, "You have cooties" or "I'm only giving you this because Teacher made me!"
Well, in honor of that fine tradition I thought I'd use this Best.

Nicollette Sheridan will soon be Edie Britt no more. Ted Casablanca of E! Online has broken the news, reporting that ABC's spokeswoman has let out confirmation that the 45-year-old actress will be leaving "Desperate Housewives", the network's comedy-drama about the lives of a group of women living on the Wisteria Lane.
In addition to the spokeswoman's confirmation, Casablanca noted that Sheridan's representative has also made a comment over the actress' departure. "Nicollette had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project," so the rep said as quoted by the columnist.
While ABC gave no further details about when or how Sheridan's character makes the exit from the show, Casablanca wrote in his report that Edie will find out that her husband, Dave Williams, plans to kill her. Trying to save her life, she runs out of the house but will soon get involved in an accident,...

30 Rock -- Something happens when you assemble the right group of actors and give them the right words to say. It's called magic — or, in this case, the cast of 30 Rock. Once again, the ensemble is being recognized for its outstanding work. Obviously, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, and the inimitable Tracy Morgan anchor the group. But as with all great casts, the supporting players shouldn't be overlooked — where would Taxi be without Latka and Reverend Jim? Rounding out the noteworthy 30 Rock crew are Jane Krakowski, Scott Adsit, Katrina Bowden, Maulik Pancholy, Lonny Ross, Judah Friedlander, Keith Powell, Kevin Brown, Grizz Chapman, and the hilarious — even when he just stands there grinning — Jack McBrayer. The team magic was never more apparent than in the recent "Christmas Special" episode. As Kenneth (McBrayer) and Tracy (Morgan) listen in the background, Liz Lemon (Fey) delivers toys to a needy family, explaining that she found them through...

Edie's new husband, Dave Williams, is a bully, and Sunday's episode of Desperate Housewives revealed more of his subversive tactics, this time aimed at the ever-squabbling Scavos. Mary Alice's ghostly voiceover told us that bullies can be found all over – not just on the playground, and boy, was she right! Check out this list of Wisteria Lane bullies, and note that only one of them is under the age of 18. (Yes, Juanita Solis!)
