We have unfortunate but expected news about OWN's thrilling courtroom drama All Rise.
The series has been canceled after three seasons.
Truthfully, the writing had been on the wall for some time.
All Rise Season 3 Episode 10 aired a year ago, and the series has been on hiatus ever since -- never a good sign for any series.
In March, Deadline reported that the entire cast had been released, meaning that new deals would have to be reached if negotiations got underway for a fourth season.
As a result, the series has faced an uphill battle since its move to the cable network after CBS swung the axe following All Rise Season 2.
The only silver lining here is that we still have ten episodes of All Rise left to air.
They will begin airing on Saturday, September 16, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

The latest trailer for Till, Clemency director Chinonye Chukwu’s movie about the 1955 lynching of Emmett Till, shows his mother Mamie Till-Mobley choosing an open casket funeral, a decision that galvanized the U.S. civil rights movement.

Echoes of Emmett Till’s murder in Jim Crow Mississippi in 1955 grew increasingly harder to ignore when 17-year-old Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman was acquitted back in 2013. Since then, Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, has channeled her grief and disappointment into fighting social injustice. It’s a role Emmett’s mother Mamie Till Mobley also played until her death at age 81 in 2003. “Till,” premiering at the New York Film Festival, tells the story of how she got there.
While the ABC limited series “Women of the Movement” — starring Tony winner Adrienne Warren as Mamie Till Mobley — recently covered some of this ground, “Till” places unparalleled focus on Emmett’s mother. In the process, we learn so much about him, prompting us to feel his loss even more intensely.

“I’m honored to be able to contribute to such a powerful film about such a historic and tragic moment in American history,” Sullivan tells Rolling Stone about the track. “I believe that part of my purpose is to give space for stories that are often ignored and silenced; the black experience in particular.

MGM has launched a new trailer for the sobering ‘Till,’ the true story film about Mamie Till-Mobley’s quest for justice for her son Emmett Till.
The 14-year-old African American boy was abducted, tortured, and lynched in Mississippi in 1955 after being accused of offending a white woman in her family’s grocery store.
The nature of his murder and his killer’s acquittal by an all-white jury drew attention to the long history of violent persecution of African Americans in the United States. The film will focus on the fight for justice from the viewpoint of his mother.
Directed by Chinonye Chukwu, the film stars Danielle Deadwyler, Whoopi Goldberg, Jalyn Hall, Frankie Faison, Jayme Lawson, Tosin Cole, Kevin Carroll, Sean Patrick Thomas, John Douglas Thompson, Roger Guenveur Smith, and Haley Bennett.

Writer-director Chinonye Chukwu and Orion Pictures revealed a first look at Danielle Deadwyler as Mamie Till Mobley and Jalyn Hall as her son Emmett in a trailer for “Till.”
The film tells the story of Emmett Till, the 14-year-old Black boy whose murder by lynching in 1955 became one of the catalyzing events of the civil rights movement. The events of his life and aftermath of his death unfold through the perspective of Mobley Till, whose lifelong fight for justice permanently changed the nation.
The trailer opens with glimpses into Emmett’s upbringing in Chicago, surrounded by community and family, including his grandmother Alma Carthan (Whoopi Goldberg). Ahead of visiting his cousins in Mississippi, Mamie explains to Emmett that racism functions differently in the South. “Be small down there,” she warns him.

The first trailer for “Till,” based on the true story of Mamie Till Mobley looking for justice after the murder of her 14-year-old son Emmett Till in 1955, has been released.
The trailer touches on many key parts of the family’s story, from Emmett on summer vacation visiting relatives in Mississippi, to the unfounded accusation that he was speaking inappropriately to a white woman in a store (which likely was Emmett unknowingly breaking an unwritten Jim Crow-era “rule” of the town), to his murder and his mother’s pursuit for justice, including having an open-casket funeral for her son.

The Public Theater, one of New York’s premiere Off Broadway companies, has canceled its prestigious 18th annual Under The Radar Festival due to “multiple disruptions related to the rapid community spread of the Omicron variant.”
The Public announced the cancellation on Twitter today. Considered one of the top international theater festivals focusing on new work, Under The Radar 2022 had been set to run from Jan. 12-30.
“While our robust Covid-19 protocols have created a safe environment within our theaters,” the Public said in the statement, “multiple disruptions related to the rapid community spread of the Omicron variant – including artist and staff availability, artist and audience cancellations, major flight interruptions, and visa processing delays – have prevented a viable way to move forward with presenting Under The Radar 2022. This is incredibly disappointing, but we believe it is necessary given the continued surge and ongoing disruptions.”
Ticket holders will be contacted by the Public via email.

It’s no stretch to say that Rusty Cundieff’s 1995 horror film “Tales from the Hood” has become a cult classic in its own right. The film launched a franchise that now includes three films. The latest installment — led by Candyman Tony Todd — premiered on the SyFy network this month, and can now be streamed on Amazon Prime and other VOD platforms. “Tales from the Hood 3” comes with the same degree of social commentary as the previous two films.
From a searing indictment of gentrification featuring a murderous realtor (London Brown) to a right-wing nutjob (Cooper Huckabee) who attempts to protect his property from a diverse America, the movie hits a lot of nerves at once. Once again, Spike Lee serves as executive producer, while Darin Scott co-directed and wrote the last two entries with Cundieff.
