Exclusive: Spyscape, the experiential company focused on the world of secret intelligence whose recent expansion included hiring former Wme agent Elia Infascelli as president, is continuing its ramp-up. At the Toronto Film Festival that begins today, it is unveiling it is launching a content division, and that it has hired film production veteran Allison Silver as chief content officer to oversee it.
Silver most recently was Evp Worldwide Production at FilmNation, where she helped shepherd films including Oscar winner The King’s Speech along with The Imitation Game, Nebraska, The Bling Ring, Room and Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In, one of five Almodovar films she’s worked on. The New York and La-based company has lined up its latest prestige project and will finance and handle international sales on The Rules Of Inheritance from Susanne Bier to star Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. CAA negotiated the deal with FilmNation, packaged the project and represents Us rights.
Abi Morgan of Shame and The Iron Lady fame will write the screenplay based on Claire Bidwell Smith’s memoir about a young woman who discovers herself after both her parents die from cancer.
Bruce Cohen, whose credits include Silver Linings Playbook, American Beauty and Milk, will produce alongside Lawrence while FilmNation will serve as executive producer.
