Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and now Annie Potts are suiting up in the latest trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, helping the Spengler family stop something strange in New York.
The latest trailer for the Gil Kenan-directed sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife features new and more extensive footage of the surviving original Ghostbusters and their secretary Janine Melnitz as they face off against an entity trying to freeze the city straight into a second Ice Age.
The film sees the original team develop a top-secret research lab to take ghostbusting to the next level, but the discovery of an artifact upends their work when it unleashes an evil force. They’ll have to face it — and enemies of the human kind, like Walter Peck (William Atherton), the Ghostbusters‘ longtime nemesis.
In the new trailer, he declares he’s “been waiting 40 years” to declare “the Ghostbusters are finished.”

If there’s something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Bill Murray, who suits back up as Peter Venkman in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” out March 22.
Murray isn’t the only franchise favorite to return for the chilly sequel, which sees the Big Apple covered in ice after an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force. His fellow original Ghostbusters — Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts — are back for “Frozen Empire,” and so is Slimer, aka “The Mean Green Ghost,” who returns with a vengeance.
According to the sequel’s logline, “Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.” The movie, which follows up 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” also stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim.

In 2018, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place turned silence into the building blocks of fright and forged from the horror-thriller genre a modern fable of family love, communication and survival. With its mix of relentless tension and layered storytelling about a tightknit clan fending off an immensely destructive, sound-attuned alien force, the film became a startling hit and cultural phenomenon. Now comes the story’s unnerving second chapter, which picks up right where the Abbott family left off. But A Quiet Place Part II also heads to new places as events hurtle past the fragile sanctuary of the “sand path” the Abbotts created in order to prevail in a reality where even a single footstep could be deadly—and into a world of infinite peril beyond.
On Thursday Paramount Pictures released the final trailer, along with a terrific video featuring director John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, for “Omg, we-can’t-wait-for-the-sequel” A Quiet Place Part II.

The latest preview of John Krasinksi’s horror sequel “A Quiet Place: Part II” — a 30-second Super Bowl spot released Friday — finds Emily Blunt and her family hiding out and seeking refuge with a new group of survivors after the terrifying events of the first film.
Blunt stars along with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as well as new cast members Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
There’s also a brief (flashback?) appearance by Krasinski, who wrote and directed “A Quiet Place Part II,” based on characters created by Bryan Woods & Scott Beck. The first trailer for director John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place Part II” kicks off with a flashback to the day the sound-sensitive aliens arrived on Earth — as Emily Blunt tries to drive her two children (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) out of harm’s way down a busy street.
The new clip, released Wednesday, also flashes forward to Blunt as she and her family — include her newborn child — seek safety away from their farm after the events of the original 2018 horror blockbuster.
The Abbott family discovers other survivors of the alien attack, including Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou, but learns that leaving familiar surroundings may not be all that it’s cracked up to be. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

John Krasinski’s character didn’t survive the horror of 2018’s “A Quiet Place” but his legacy lives on in the sequel as Emily Blunt is seen carrying a newborn baby in the first teaser for the sequel, released Wednesday morning.
In the 30-second clip, Blunt’s rifle-wielding character is seen walking silently and on guard as she leads her two older children (again played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) through the woods — until they come to the end of the cleared portion of the path and must begin stepping on crunchy autumn leaves. (No sign of where her newborn might be — though the infant does appear in the first look image the studio released.)
While he won’t appear on screen, Krasinski returns as writer and director, with Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou joining the cast.
A fuller teaser trailer will be released on New Year’s Day.

Directors Guild of America President Taylor Hackford today announced the five nominees for the DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2010.
“2011 marks the 75th anniversary of the DGA, making the celebration of this year’s five nominees especially meaningful,” said Hackford. “Their inspired films radiate the passion and unique vision of each of these filmmakers, who are about to become part of our Guild’s rich history. My sincerest congratulations to all five nominees.”
The DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film has traditionally been one of the industry’s most accurate barometers for who will win the Best Director Academy Award; only six times since the DGA Awards began in 1948 has the Feature Film winner not gone on to win the corresponding Academy Award.
The winner will be named at the 63rd Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Grand Ballroom of Hollywood & Highland.
