On Oscar night, details matter. Who are you wearing? What are you nominated for? Who won? Just don’t expect everyone to know the answers.
“What movie won?” Rick Hilton asked as he and wife Kathy Hilton assumed position at the end of a glamorous queue to get into Vanity Fair’s 30th anniversary Oscar party in Beverly Hills on Sunday after 10 p.m. They asked their son, Kathy says, but no clue. Fortunately, a gentleman standing directly in front of the couple had the answer. “It was Oppenheimer,” he said, not mentioning the awkwardness of Al Pacino’s best picture reveal. Some details can be saved for Monday morning. Plus, there are more rapid-fire questions to field.
What movie is that? Is it based on a true story? Who was the emcee?
“Oh, Jimmy Kimmel. I like him,” Rick said, smiling, in a totally relatable moment because who doesn’t love Jimmy Kimmel?...

Sacha Baron Cohen and Chris Rock had the good sense to arrive early at the Jean-Michel Basquiat Made on Market Street exhibition at the Larry Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills.
They surveyed the 30 or so Basquiat art works in relative peace ,before the throng arrived.
Cohen tells me he came straight from writing something “for TV” that might shoot in Los Angeles or in London, he wasn’t sure. Interesting.
There may also be a film. But before anything else he’ll be seen along with Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, Lesley Manville and Louis Partridge in Disclaimer, the TV drama thriller Alfonso Cuarón has written and directed for Apple TV+.

Rock and Cohen had skedaddled with pal Guy Oseary to see Madonna by the time Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright presented himself at the gallery. It was wholly appropriate that the American Fiction star be there.

Madonna was in a 48-hour induced coma while hospitalized for multiple days back in June for a bacterial infection.
She revealed new details about her medical emergency to a packed house at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of her Celebration World Tour. This summer, the Grammy winner had to postpone the tour after she was admitted to an intensive care unit for treatment of the infection.
“I was in an induced coma for 48 hours,” Madonna could be heard saying in a video of her statement captured by a fan. That was before she thanked her Kabbalah teacher, who was at her side while she was in the hospital. “The only voice I heard was his. I heard him say, ‘Squeeze my hand.'”

Last November, CAA held a town hall on antisemitism, part of a series hosted through CAA’s Amplify Presents program, described as “a network of changemakers” working toward “systemic change for communities of color.” The program was introduced by agent Maha Dakhil, who said it was “focused on fighting antisemitism and promoting allyship.” Next up was CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett. “This morning, we will learn once again how much words matter,” he said, “and the damage caused by human beings with large platforms who do not use their platforms responsibly.”
Twelve months later, Dakhil finds herself at the center of a firestorm ignited by her own use of a large platform: Instagram, where she had 27,000 followers before she locked her account and deleted her posts. In the wake of her comments on the Israel-Hamas War, Aaron Sorkin fired her. High-level Hollywood executives including Spyglass Media chairman and CEO Gary Barber,...

After apologizing for a social media post critical of Israel made amid the country’s war against Hamas, CAA’s co-chief of the motion pictures department Maha Dakhil is stepping away from her leadership role in the division for now. Additionally, she’s resigning from the Century City-based firm’s internal agency board.
Dakhil, whose clients include Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway, came under scrutiny for an Instagram repost that referenced “genocide” as the war escalates. That post was later deleted and the agent apologized for the remarks.
“I made a mistake with a repost in my Instagram story, which used hurtful language,” Dakhil wrote in an Oct. 19 statement. “Like so many of us, I have been reeling with heartbreak. I pride myself on being on the side of humanity and peace. I’m so grateful to Jewish friends and colleagues who pointed out the implications and further educated me.

Grammy Award-winning artist Alicia Keys shared her interest in paragliding on Instagram this week.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, she asked her fans, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid of anything?”
She then said that she had her “eyes on paragliding…”
In the photo, Keys is wearing a green-and-black leather jacket.
This isn’t the first time Keys mentioned her interest in paragliding. Back in 2021, she mentioned it while on the popular radio show The Breakfast Club.
Shortly after making the post, Keys was met with strong backlash.
It even caught the attention of the Stop Antisemitism organization, which called her Instagram post a “sick ode” to Hamas.
People accused her of being insensitive since Hamas used paragliders to launch an attack on a music festival.
They also compared her jacket to the Palestinian flag because both have similar color schemes.
Some assumed this was her way of supporting Hamas.

On Oct. 14, Madonna officially kicked off her Celebration Tour, marking the star's triumphant return to the stage after a health scare over the summer that she wasn't sure she'd survive. "I didn't think I was going to make it, neither did my doctors. That's why I woke up with all of my all of my children sitting around me," she said during the London concert, per CNN. The tour, which will travel through Europe, the United States, and Mexico, runs through April 24, 2024.
"I forgot five days of my life – or my death. I don't really know where I was," she added. Ultimately, Madonna said, she was able to pull through because of her kids. An Nft-backed animated series production featuring the voices of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Chris Rock, Dax Shepard, Jane Fonda and Seth MacFarlane has been fined $1 million for misleading investors.
Stoner Cats, which was funded through the sale of $8 million in non-fungible tokens [NFTs] to investors in 2021, was part of a scheme to misappropriate those funds, according to charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC said it charged production entity Stoner Cats 2 LLC with conducting an unregistered offering of crypto asset securities.
Kunis is listed on the production’s website as a member of the “production team” and “blockchain team.” She and Kutcher have had a difficult week, having faced intense criticism for offering legal statements supporting former That ’70s Show castmate Danny Masterson despite his sentencing to three decades in prison on felony rape conviction. Former MTV president Van Toffler had the history books on his mind when he asked Madonna to open the 2003 Video Music Awards. Toffler wanted to honor the VMAs’ nearly two-decade legacy with a callback to its inaugural 1984 edition. A lot had happened since Madonna rolled around in a wedding dress during “Like a Virgin” at that first awards show, but she remained the video era’s flagship star. Toffler hoped a plum spot on the program would motivate the Queen of Pop to outdo herself.

Los Angeles, July 7 (Ians) Queen of pop Madonna had to be “revived” by an injection to revive septic shock after she was found unresponsive at home, insiders have now claimed.
The 64-year-old pop icon was found “unresponsive” at her New York home towards the end of June after suffering what is believed to have been a “serious bacterial infection”, and now insiders have claimed to RadarOnline that she was treated with a shot that is often used to reverse the effects of a drug overdose, reports femalefirst.o.uk.
However, the outlet went on to say that there was nothing to suggest that the ‘Like a Virgin’ hitmaker had been using drugs and that the treatment is also used to “reverse acute septic shock in patients”, which she is thought to have suffered from at the time.
The outlet said that the injection is “commonly held in medical treatment kits...

Rosie O’Donnell assured fans that her “A League of Their Own” costar Madonna is on the mend after her hospitalization last month for a rare bacterial infection. After the former talk show host shared a photo of her and the singer in the 1992 sports comedy on Instagram, a fan asked how Madonna was doing.
“She’s good,” O’Donnell replied, adding, “She is recovering at home — she is very strong in general.”
Last week, Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary posted that she had been admitted to the ICU on June 24 after having developed a serious bacterial infection and that her “Celebration” world tour was postponed as a result.
The tour was set to kick off on July 15 in Vancouver.
Oseary wrote that “a full recovery is expected” for Madonna.
“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” he said, adding that she is still under medical care but is improving.

Madonna was putting in serious work preparing for her “Celebration Tour” before being hospitalized earlier this week.
The “Like a Prayer” singer was in the intensive care unit dealing with a serious bacterial infection, which developed Saturday, leading to a several-day stay in the ICU.
A source tells Et that Madonna was “doing well and feeling good in her rehearsals” and staying up as late as 3:30 a.m. some nights to perfect her moves for the coming tour prior to suffering the infection.
“She is a night person and normally sleeps during the day and then gets to work at night,” the source continues. “She was starting around 5:00 p.m. and then could sometimes wrap everything around 3:30 a.m. Her kids David and Mercy were around during some rehearsals.”
While Madonna has pushed the start of her “Celebration Tour” until further notice, the source says her team...
