They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but one in four Americans skip it. Of those, no small number are passing up a bite in the morning for the most common of stimulants: coffee. And when you have a go-to source for that caffeine fix, any disruption to the routine can be an enormous shock.
Enter Dunkin’, the donuts and coffee chain that has 8,500 locations spread over the country and serves millions their morning joe every day. The brand isn’t just popular but symbolic of regional and working-class pride,...

Comic Book Resources have posted their recap of Zak Penn's "Hero Worship" (his new Avatar Press series with co-writer Scott Murphy) panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, and some new details about what he had planned for The Avengers have emerged. Of course, once Joss Whedon took over, the director rewrote the script and reportedly used few elements from Penn's screenplay; something surely only fans of Elektra and X-Men: The Last Stand were disappointed about. He told those in attendance that it was, "My job was to keep revising the draft...for about four or five years, that's what I did. The story was basically the same, but it kept shifting. Then, once Joss (Whedon) came in, he took over from there." Penn goes on to reveal that Marvel Studios had no contingency plan if any of the solo movies had failed and that he didn't think it was...

While actual space program Nasa is recieving massive budget cuts, sci-fi comedy adventure SpaceVenture has been successfully funded on Kickstarter.
The upcoming adventure comes from the minds of Space Quest creators Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy aka Two Guys from Andromeda.
Their goal was to raise $500,000 which they exceeded last night mere hours before the deadline. The final tally came in at $541,371 (including PayPal contributions) after being funded by 10,809 backers. Those late to the party can still pledge on PayPal.
SpaceVenture will continue in the vain of the Space Quest series, and is described as, "A game that you will feel comfortable playing with your children, but with some entertainment that will safely appeal only to the adult psyche." It will also have "hilarious death sequences."
The game will carry such star power as Gary Owens (voice of Space Ghost), Ellen McClain (GLaDOS), and Rob Paulsen (Pinky,...

Space Quest series creators Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy have returned to the games industry after an over two decade hiatus under their new label, Two Guys from Andromeda. Their first project, SpaceVenture, just began its Kickstarter campaign.
SpaceVenture will be a "space adventure" game in the vain of Space Quest. Two Guys From Andromeda have already roped in an all-star voice cast consisting of GLaDOS voice actress, Ellen McClain, the voice of Space Ghost, Gary Owens, and ubiquitous cartoon voice actor, Rob Paulsen (Wakko from Animaniacs, Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
The Eugene, Or-based outfit seeks $500,000 by Jun 12th to fund the project. The Kickstarter has been up less than a day and as of writing this they've amassed $78,587 in pledges. Donating $15 or more guarantees access to a DRM free version of the game upon its release, while a pledge of $30 or more will grant...

Whether or not you're a sports fan, there's something about sport-centered movies that is undeniably compelling. The stakes run high while the characters run in slow motion, and the climax is often one that makes crowds stand up and cheer. A good sports movie pays off like your favorite team on their best day, and this is why I'm looking forward to the upcoming football-focused drama Touchback. Writer-director Don Handfield is making his feature debut with this wish-fulfillment tale that centers on Scott Murphy, a promising high school athlete who seems destined to go pro and leave his humble hometown behind him. However, his prospects of a career in football are shattered when he's injured in an ill-fated game. 15 years later, he's a married man with a couple of kids, a gimp leg, and one major regret. Then one day, while wishing he could have done things differently, he's magically...

Just when you thought you had seen every football movie, someone decided to add time travel into the mix! No, it won't be via a Delorean, or a blue telephone booth. But it could be a magic football! Touchback follows Brian Presley as Scott Murphy, an injured player who is given a chance to go back and relive his greatest game. A game that caused him a near-crippling injury, and left him with a bad leg. Presley travels back to 1991, and gets to relive the moments surrounding that game with...

As anyone who watched James Franco's take on Oscar hosting can tell you, Hollywood award shows can be weird, weird things. Whether it's Adrien Brody planting a kiss on Halle Berry or just Ricky Gervais insulting everyone in the audience, things can get strange very fast.
But for certain awards, they don't need all the fanfare (or malice) to entice audiences; sometimes the nominees alone are enough. The Art Directors Guild awards fall squarely into this category, with their wide-ranging nominees for excellence in production design, announced last night. Where else would "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," "Captain America," and "Anonymous" all be nominated for something?
The announcement of the winners will be made at the annual awards ceremony on Feb. 4.
Check out the list of nominees:

The Art Directors Guild has announced the nominees for its 16th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, to be handed out Feb. 4 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Art Direction may not be at the top of your priority list for movies or TV, but I think it should be higher than many people hold it. Without art direction the tone of what you watch would be greatly impacted. I love being transported into a unique universe, and art direction helps make my movie and TV viewing experiences more enjoyable.
