J.A. Bayona’s Netflix epic Society of the Snow swept Saturday night’s Platino Awards, picking up a total of six trophies including the top award of the night for best Ibero-American fiction film.
Bayona’s film follows the tragic events that take place after Uruguayan Air Force flight 571, chartered to fly a rugby team to Chile, crashes on a glacier in the heart of the Andes in 1972. Only 16 of the 45 passengers ultimately made it out alive as a handful of others perished on the mountain during the 72 days from the time of the crash until rescuers arrived.
Bayona also made his way to the stage to accept a trophy for best director, and his film’s haul also included best male performance for star Enzo Vogrincic, best editing for Jaume Marti and Andres Gil, best cinematography for Pedro Luque, and best sound for Oriol Tarragó, Marc Orts and Jorge Adrados.

L.A.-based Wild Sheep Content, headed by former Netflix international honcho Erik Barmack, is adapting German No.1 bestseller “When Butterflies Fly Loops” for Mexico, as it branches out into unscripted with Adal Ramones, Mexico’s No.1 standup, and boards Lucía Puenzo’s gangster epic, “The Gunwoman (Pepita’s Legend).”
Starring Luisana Lopilato, and just announced, “Gunwoman” reps a “giant story” account, said Puenzo, of real life mobster Margarita Di Tulio, which is backed by a far-ranging consortium of good and great players in and outside Argentina.
All three titles see Wild Sheep driving ever deeper into big IP in highly packaged and star-laden projects, while branching out in sectors and territorial reach – strategies which may well become text-book tactics as streamers and broadcasters pull back on commissions or buys over much of international.
Their announcement comes three days before Jimena Rodríguez, producer of “Three Idiots” and head of Mexico...

“Dive” and “La Jauría” helmer Lucía Puenzo is set to direct gangster epic “The Gunwoman (Pepita’s Legend),” toplining and executive produced by Argentine star Luisana Lopilato, and inspired by the real-life story of Margarita Di Tullio, queen of its Mar del Plata underworld who became the most famous woman in Argentina’s criminal history.
Currently in pre-production, the movie is backed by one of the grandest alliances ever assembled to produce an Argentine feature film, thriller “The Gunwoman” (Pepita’s Legend)” being produced by a consortium led by Argentina’s Zeppelin Studio, headed by Lucas Jinkis. The alliance also takes in Historias Cinematográficas, Erik Barmack’s Wild Sheep Content, Yair Dori, Bar Rimoni, Javier Furgang, 7395 Media and Non Stop Studios.

The Marriage App (Matrimillas) is a Netflix rom-com. It is directed by Sebastián De Caro starring Luisana Lopilato and Juan Minujín.
A rom-com that plays it safe, never really risking much, designed to entertain the genre aficionados.
Premise
Couple trouble strikes, as the frustrated couple finds hope in a watch-based app that rewards good deeds — until unhealthy obsessiveness takes over.
Movie Review
An Argentinian romantic comedy that starts precisely where rom-coms normally end, going back to its essence. Staying true to the genre’s norms it is predictable. Could it be otherwise?
Luisana Lopilato and Juan Minujín are both charming in the lead roles and know how to bring forth their respective characters that engage the viewer, will amuse rom-com aficionados and will entertain at large.

In an Instagram Reel posted on Thursday, Bublé revealed his talented son learned how to play "I'll Never Not Love You" on the piano. The singer is clearly emotional in the video as he sings his hit song while Noah accompanies him.
"More talent in his little fingers than I have in my whole body!!" the proud dad captioned the video. He also added, "Noah surprised me after I was away on tour. He worked so hard to learn this song. So proud of my guy."
Throughout the video, Bublé seems to be holding back tears even as he grins at his son's impressive performance. Meanwhile, Noah is completely focused on hitting all of the right notes.

In an interview with The View on March 18, Michael dished on a very tricky question his son, Elias Bublé, 5, asked the singer and his wife, Luisana Lopilato about her latest pregnancy. "We told the kids on Christmas eve," Michael said. "We told them 'You know, mommy has a baby in her tummy and you're gonna have a little brother or sister' and my five-year-old Eli was just distraught. Michael Bublé is the leading man in his new music video for single “I’ll Never Not Love You.” Directed by Andrew Donoho, the clip features Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, recreating memorable scenes from several iconic romantic comedies.
Paying tribute to classics like Love, Actually, The Notebook, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Casablanca, and Jerry Maguire, many of the video’s scenes are near-exact replicas of the original films. The singer has fittingly dubbed the clip a “cinematic love letter to the movies.”

Michael Bublé is slowly but surely stepping back into the spotlight following his 4-year-old son Noah's liver cancer diagnosis. In light of the 42-year-old Grammy-winning musician's return to the stage for the first time in Dublin and London, two years after he and wife Luisana Lopilato revealed their firstborn son's battle with cancer, he sat down with London Evening Standard to give an update on Noah's recovery (Luisana announced in April 2017 that he'd beaten cancer).
"He's perfect," the crooner said of his son's health today. "The most important thing was to get [the tumor] out, with clean margins. Because if you do, it goes from being this scary thing to just being tremendous odds. No one likes talking about percentages but, honestly, [we have] a percentage where we can live our life, and not live in fear every day. We know we're Ok now.
