"This will be a weekend of light, love, and oneness." Get ready for a bonkers horror comedy arriving on 4/20 weekend. We missed this trailer when it first dropped a few weeks ago, but there's still time to catch up with it. Hanky Panky is a zany no-budget indie comedy made by filmmakers Lindsey Haun & Nick Roth, who were inspired by Wet Hot American Summer and Caddyshack. This is to be filed under the "Puppets & Blood" horror subgenre. A man and his sentient napkin friend save the world from a dark evil top-hat in a cabin deep in the Utah mountains, and also learn to love. Seth Green plays (or just voices?) the top-hat, and the cast includes Jacob DeMonte-Finn, Ashley Holliday Tavares, Christina Laskay, Anthony Rutowicz, Clare Grant, Azure Parsons, and Toby Bryan. The filmmakers explain they had "literally no budget, nobody got paid, everyone chipped in for food and drugs,...

Just in time for 4/20 weekend, Lindsey Haun and Nick Roth are getting set to unleash Hanky Panky, and they’ve let us know that you might want to be high when you watch it.
“A man and a talking napkin save the world from an evil top-hat, and also learn to love” in Hanky Panky, which will be streaming April 19 on Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, and Amazon.
The aforementioned evil top-hat is voiced by none other than Seth Green!
Check out an exclusive poster debut below, along with the film’s official trailer.
The filmmakers preview, “Hanky Panky was inspired by the way certain zany comedies like Wet Hot American Summer and Caddyshack seemed to capture the energy of locking their whole cast and crew together in, say, a summer camp, or a coke-orgy fueled hotel in the middle of a Florida hurricane with Chevy Chase — and then somehow get that energy on screen.

Remember when Sarah Silverman was in Star Trek: Voyager? We salute that and 9 other ace guest turns in the show...
Star Trek: Voyager does not share the good reputation of its predecessors The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, with some fans disappointed that the inherent conflict between Starfleet and Maquis characters was not explored further, others perhaps put off by the really rather dull and occasionally ridiculous second season. However, Voyager was as capable as any other Star Trek series of producing memorable stories and excellent performances, and for those of us for whom it is our favourite branch of the Star Trek franchise (yes, we do exist) it is worth celebrating some of the things it did really well – in this case, the actors and actresses who came to join the show for guest performances.

I have a shaky relationship with Village of the Damned. On the one hand, it’s a pretty piss-poor movie in a lot of ways. It has a lot going against it. It’s a remake, the acting is ludicrous, and some of the decisions made by the characters are just mind-numbing. On the other hand, it is a John Carpenter movie, and as we’ve all learned by this point — with the exception of The Ward — even a bad John Carpenter movie is better than a lot of filmmakers’ good movies. So yes, it’s a ridiculous movie, and yes, it’s really easy to get a group of friends together, and throw this on for the purpose of laughing at it, and yes, this movie turns Christopher Reeve — a man famous to most of us because of his portrayal of Superman, humanity’s symbol of hope — into a...

Earlier this week, Double Dutch International, a company that helps sell films to distributors, negotiated a deal for upcoming thriller 'House of Last Things' to be distributed by Revolver in the U.S and Canada. It stars Lindsey Haun ("True Blood"), Blake Berris ("Days of Our Lives"), and Rj Mitte (Walter White Jr. in "Breaking Bad"). "Double Dutch is excited to announce these territory deals," Double Dutch President Jason Moring said. "'House of Last Things' is a gripping thriller. One problem with Breaking Bad's short timeline is that R.J. Mitte, the actor who plays Walt Jr., has noticeably aged. So much so that he might be a teenager on the show, but he just turned 21 in real life this past weekend. And boy, did he turn 21. To celebrate, Mitte partayed in Las Vegas with females in bejeweled brassieres and the most unexpected Breaking Bad castmate. True Blood Preview: Can Sookie Have a Regular Life?
This week's episode of True Blood certainly ended with an unexpected twist and it looks like things are set to take a chaotic turn as Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) nears his freedom. While a civil war is brewing between the Sanguinista and mainstreaming vampires, Russell just wants to feed on humans and if he gets the chance it's going to get very messy indeed.
We ended last week with Alcide (Joe Manganiello) getting attacked and it turned out that it was indeed by werewolves. This all got tempered rather quickly; with Bill (Stephen Moyer) stopping Eric (Alexander Skarsgåard) from staking Russell as Bill believed this would save their lives. Bill's quick thinking was correct as when they returned to the Vampire Authority they were welcomed with a celebration and had their iStakes removed. Bill is much better at pretending that he...

But first, check out this synopsis: Alan (Randy Schulman) is a successful classical music critic as reflected in his spacious Portland home. His wife Sarah (Diane Dalton) is an obsessively grieving woman, struggling with an unspoken tragedy, even after months of institutionalized therapy. Upon Sarah’s release, Alan forces Sarah into a trip to Italy. He has already arranged for a house sitter in Kelly (Lindsey Haun...

For a film looking to get its name out there for distro there is nothing more important than screening in front of the people who can get that done. The Oregon-based film House of Last Things recently became one of just four Us films to be selected to screen in front of 30 European distributors.
Directed by Michael Bartlett, House of Last Things will screen in June in Paris, being selected for the Us in Progress division of the Inaugural Champs-Elysees Film Festival. The film is a mind-bending thriller set in Portland, Oregon about an unspoken tragedy and its effects on a house, its temporary caretakers and the owners, a classical music critic and his wife on a recuperative trip to Italy.
Check out the trailer below and for more, up-to-the-moment info, viddy the official House of Last Things Facebook page .

General Hospital's New Head Writer Garin Wolf Looks to the Future
"The mob will still be there but it will become a background for the emotions of the characters. The Spencer family, the mob, the hospital, will all have equal weight. I probably shouldn't say this, but so will Wyndemere. Everyone has a story, no matter who they are. Everyone can make you laugh and cry."
"There's not a character on this show who is mined out yet. There's always something we haven't seen, a twist on a character we think we know but really don't. I love the idea of pinball characters."
Why Brands Aren’t Leveraging Independent Producers for New Media Content

Seems everyone is attempting to move back in to controversial horror territory of late, which can be a good thing. Not always, but it's good to push boudaries. Maybe not as far as 'The Human Centipede II' is attempting to do currently, however, its new forced abortion thriller 'The Life Zone' from director Rob Weber that seems to be taking the brunt of critism also of late. It's not surprising that a film that deals with several doctors forcing a group of young women to have their babies, against their wills is going to raise serious issues and take on serious comments. The movie stars ex-Playboy model Angela Little (below) as one of the abductees from an abortion clinic. Robert Loggia, Lindsey Haun, Charles Durning, Martin Kove, , Katarzyna Wolejnio, Blanche Baker, Tara Buck, Thomas G. Waites, Eric Etebari and Rachael Robbins all star. You can check out the new official trailer below.

This is one of the first independent films that this film lover has seen on Youtube, which has several more dislikes than likes. The comments for this film are pretty scathing, too. The film being lambasted is titled The Life Zone and this low budget shocker is from best-selling author Kenneth Del Vecchio (Horror).
The central plotline involves several doctors forcing a group of young women to have their babies, against their wills. The film stars Robert Loggia (Scarface), Lindsey Haun (Shrooms), Angela Little (American Pie), Blanche Baker (Sixteen Candles), Charles Durning, and Martin Kove. Prepare for audiences to be polarized on both sides of the abortion matter, as The Life Zone takes on some controversial material below.
The synopsis for The Life Zone is as follows:

Find yourself on the receiving end of an unwanted pregnancy? Thinking about having an abortion? How dare you assume that you can do with your body what you wish! Finally there's a madman ready to stifle that ludicrous conclusion! A right-to-lifer with methods so misguided that the recently departed Jack Kevorkian would call him extreme!
Below you'll find the first trailer for the pro-life horror film The Life Zone written and produced by Kenneth Del Vecchio and directed by Rod Weber.
The film follows what happens when a grumpy old man kidnaps pregnant women from abortion clinics and forces them to give birth. Just when you think you've heard it all, right?

Expect the unexpected with "The Walking Dead," even if it is on the red carpet.
At the premiere screening of the AMC zombie apocalypse drama in Hollywood on Tuesday (Oc. 26), a debate sparks between "True Blood" actress Lindsey Haun and "Breaking Bad's" Rj Mitte over the various merits of the undead.
The two have been filming the supernatural thriller "House of Last Things" in Oregon, but take a break to attend the "Walking Dead" premiere because Mitte, who plays Junior on "Breaking Bad," has been excited for the show for a while.
Naturally, with the nature of the event and Haun playing Hadley, a vampire queen's consort, on "True Blood," the conversation turns to "Who's better: Vampires or zombies?"
It's a completely silly argument that the two actors have, but it's fun to see the camaraderie. Mitte also gets pretty creative explaining one of his zombie defense strategies.
Enjoy:...

Just when you thought the gayest show on TV couldn’t get any more gay, it seems that it can. No, I’m not talking about Glee or anything remotely to do with Kurt’s upcoming boyfriend story line; it’s GLAAD’s No. 1 Super Gaymo show, True Blood, with the drama’s latest round of casting notices.
According to Entertainment Weekly, vampire vixen Pam (Kristin Bauer), American Vampire League head Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck), Queen Sophie-Anne (Evan Rachel Wood), and her girlfriend Hadley (Lindsey Haun) may have some company in their lesbian love boat in the vampire drama’s upcoming fourth season.
One of the five character descriptions released includes Naomi, an Asian-American cage fighter who, when she’s not fighting, gets “hot-’n’-heavy” with one of her female competitors.”

Oh, "True Blood," why does your season have to end so quickly! It seems like just yesterday fans were counting down the days to the season-three premiere. Alas, the new episodes have come and gone, but that doesn't mean we don't have fresh news and intel straight from our favorite HBO castmembers themselves! When MTV News caught up with the merry, wise-cracking bunch recently, we asked them what might be on their wish lists for next season, as well as a few details about co-stars and witches, etc.
"Well, if you read the books you know that next season is all about fightin' witches," Nelsan Ellis teased about season four's fun new plotline. "So we shall see," he said.

With shows like "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad," "Dexter" and "True Blood" earning prized nods at the 2010 Emmy Awards, it's clear that the cable channels are reaping the rewards of their original programming. And those programming choices often involve pushing the envelope with edgy, provocative subjects and story lines. And these days, HBO's "True Blood" is the epitome of provocative TV.
The show is not only a bloody good time, but its daring themes and attractive cast are bleeding into pop culture (cheesy pun intended!). Case in point: Stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård appear naked on a recent Rolling Stone cover. Are you starting to salivate for the next episode of "True Blood" on Sunday? So are we and waiting sucks! Here are few stories that are helping us get over hump day!
HBO is shopping around reruns to commercial cable networks. That would be an easy sell for the network, but a few previously sold HBO shows didn't do very well in repeats at their new homes: "True Blood" creator Alan Ball's "Six Feet Under" for Bravo, "Entourage" for Spike, and "The Sopranos" for A&E. [Los Angeles Times]
The fact that "True Blood" broke the Emmy vampire curse and got nominated for outstanding drama series was good news for fans and HBO. The bad news is that one of its competitors is Showtime's "Dexter." Of course, we're rabid fans of both shows. Well, our pals at FEARnet did an "Emmy Death Match" pitting the two shows against each other. We won't ruin the ending for you,...

Season Three of Alan Ball's "True Blood" has been hot and heavy and loaded with surprises, and from the synopses released today by HBO for Episodes 31-35, it shows no signs of slowing down in the slightest.

Last week, True Blood creator Alan Ball talked with The Advocate about future gay characters on the hit HBO series. The show has already featured a handful of queer characters, including Vampire Queen Sophie-Ann (Evan Rachel Wood, her lover Hadley (Lindsey Haun), the fabulous fry cook/drug dealer Lafayette and season 1's Eddie.

Pam is played by Kristin Bauer, who serves as Eric's wingwoman at the vampire bar, Fangtasia. Her interests included fancy pumps, showing no mercy and now, apparently, the bar maid, Ginger.

Rutina Wesley (Tara) says the power "is a funky little thing" and we won't know for sure until season two Tara Buck (Fangtasia waitress ginger) says that she'll be back this Sunday and that Sam will hide out in Fangtasia with Eric and Pam Nelsan Ellis says it's not one single character that takes Maryann out, but rather it's a "group effort" by allt he good guys As...

As a True Blood devotee and Evan Rachel Wood fan, I've been anxiously waiting this Sunday's episode in which she debuts as the lesbian vampire queen of Louisiana. However, it seems that the character, Sophie Ann, might not be as gay as we'd hoped.
Wood told E! Online "she's not necessarily a lesbian."
"Her human partner is a girl, but I'm pretty sure she goes both ways [laughs]," Wood said. "I think vampires are like that in general."
While vampires do have a history of being quite omnisexual, there has been quite a bit of hype surrounding Wood's character, and based on her own comments as well as those of others involved with the show, it's been reported that Sophie Ann was going to be a lesbian. But with only two episodes left of season two, it doesn't leave much development for Sophie Ann, and this could be why it is possible,...

A couple of months ago we posted an excerpt from an interview with "True Blood"'s Evan Rachel Wood in which she mentioned that her character, Sophie-Anne, would be interacting with "Hadley", Sookie (Anna Paquin)'s cousin who had yet to be cast. Today we found out who would be playing said Hadley.
Lindsey Haun, singer and the former lead vocalist of hard rock band 7th Fall (and also one of the leads of Paddy Breathnach's Shrooms), landed the gig; and she wrote all about it in her MySpace blog:
First of all, "True Blood"! Sooooo... our guitar player, Sarah Carter, was on episode 2 of this season, season 2, with her other band Rocket!! The episode is called "Get This Party Started" and Rocket is the back up band for the Christian rock singer chick. it's pretty funny... and kinda wrong actually... in a good way. But wait there's more!

Fact: Evan Rachel Wood is playing a lesbian vampire queen on True Blood this season.
Fact: Wood's character will feed on another woman.
Fact: Lindsey Haun has joined the cast as Sookie's cousin, Hadley and has filmed scenes with Evan Rachel Wood.
Rumor: Lindsey Haun will be fed on by Evan Rachel Wood.
While I cannot yet confirm that country singer-turned-actress Lindsey Haun will be in the grasp of straight-woman-who-oft-plays-lesbian Erw, it does seem pretty likely that this rumor could be true. I'm all for speculation, and definitely intrigued that, if true, she's part of Sookie's family. It must run in their blood.
According to the fansite True-Blood.net:
The casting call for the character of Hadley reads: Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) cousin, this fresh-faced 20 something year old country girl is locked in a steamy clinch with the vampire queen (Evan Rachel Wood). The dazed Hadley has been seduced into...

Lindsey Haun, singer and the former lead vocalist of hard rock band 7th Fall, has just landed herself a new TV gig. She's set to join the cast of True Blood for at least three episodes this season and will appear as Sookie's cousin Hadley.
At this point, there is no word yet on why cousin Hadley is being brought into the picture. But according to Haun, she's also filmed scenes with Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, and Evan Rachel Wood so her debut on the HBO vampire series must be quite intriguing. ...

· The whole wide web wants to know: Is Lady Gaga Hollywood's most famous hermaphrodite since, well, you know? We remain unconvinced -- she's probably just wearing her Gonzo g-string.
· Robert Luketic's Barbarella remake has a writer: Joe Gazzam, who penned the pilot Deputized for SyFy and a Scared Straight film called Riot for Nicolas Cage.
· When we talked to Evan Rachel Wood about her True Blood vampire queen, she was all atwitter to find out who'd be playing her lesbian lover. Evan, meet Lindsey Haun!
· After years of being rescued in the editing room, Doug Liman has now rescued someone himself.
· Kara DioGuardi went on Ryan Seacrest's radio show to talk about how close she is to Paula Abdul -- so close, in fact, that they haven't spoken a word to each other since Abdul quit. In Kara's defense, it's probably because she hasn't gotten her triumphant cackle...

Families heading to the multiplexes post-turkey this Thanksgiving can unbutton those tight belts in the dark after choosing from an eclectic mix of hard-hitting action, sweeping epics and prickly romance.
"Australia"
Never one to be rushed, director Baz Luhrmann has taken seven years since putting his so-called "red curtain trilogy" to bed before delivering this, the first installment in his announced trilogy of epics. Once more showcasing his fascination with great melodrama, old-school villainy and larger-than-life love stories, Luhrmann has reinvented himself without really reinventing himself with this grandiose romance set against the backdrop of a transforming nation. Returning muse Nicole Kidman stars as Sarah Ashley, a freshly widowed cattlewoman who falls in love with a rugged ranch hand named Drover (Hugh Jackman), as the two drive 1500 head of cattle to Darwin. Unfortunately, they arrive just in time to see the Japanese bombers appear on the horizon.
