Actors' Equity Association announced today that the multi-ethnic Broadway revival of "Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire" has been selected as the recipient of its Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2011-2012 season. The award will be presented at a reception before Equity's national council meeting Tuesday, July 17, at the Equity headquarters in New York City.The award is presented by Equity’s Eastern Regional Equal Employment Opportunity Committee to honor and encourage those who actively promote the goals of diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all who work in the theater.
