Taylor Sheridan has been part of the industry since 1995, having worked as an actor, writer, producer, and director. After being an actor, Sheridan realized that this was not the field for him, and started venturing into other avenues – mainly writing and directing.

Since then, he has written and directed many acclaimed movies and TV shows. From the Oscar-nominated movie Sicario (2015) to Hell Or High Water (2016) to Wind River (2017), he wrote the screenplay for each, and even directed the last. And now he is working on a few equally acclaimed TV shows like Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and 1923.
Taylor Sheridan Quit Acting to Become a Director
Before he ventured into the land of direction, Taylor Sheridan was an actor doing small roles here and there. It wasn’t until the mid-2000s that he got to play some major characters in shows like Veronica Mars and Sons of Anarchy.

Dolly Parton’s ebullient personality makes it seem like little gets her down, but things still bother the singer. According to one of her backup singers, three things deeply disturbed the Queen of Country. Outside one show in Atlanta, a woman upset her by touching on two of these things.
Dolly Parton’s friend said an encounter outside a show disturbed the singer
Parton has been famous for decades and has often leaned into gossip about her as a way to promote her projects. She admitted that while tabloids often overblow news, there is typically a grain of truth in the stories they run. It bothers her deeply when there is not, and magazines run outright lies about her.
Even worse than this is when someone doubts her talent, or calls her songwriting into question. Parton rightfully takes immense pride in her work and she finds it incredibly hurtful when...

After more than fifty years of a successful acting career, Sylvester Stallone still got it all — but sometimes he himself doubts it.
Despite a considerable age of 77 years, the legendary actor doesn’t seem to have a problem with keeping up with his younger colleagues, but one of his recent projects gave him a weird feeling about the whole situation.
2022 marked Stallone’s first leading role on television thanks to his crime drama show Tulsa King. The storyline follows Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a Mafia leader who is back on track after being released from prison and immediately sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he tries to revive his criminal career by forming a new organization.
Feeling somewhat out of place after 25 years of isolation, Dwight instead creates The Manfredi Crime Family.
Though Stallone definitely looks good even against his younger co-stars, one scene actually kind of hurt his feelings. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter recently,...

Oftentimes, a sequel to a much-beloved film fails to meet the expectations set by its predecessors, which eventually ends up tainting the original’s legacy. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case with Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, arguably his most iconic franchise, which is still going strong with Michael B. Jordan taking its reign with the Creed features.
However, getting the first sequel off the ground wasn’t easy, and if it wasn’t for one plot twist, Rocky might not have gone on to become one of the most celebrated franchises in the sports genre.

Sylvester Stallone’s underdog story and meteoric rise as a Hollywood star have long been talked about over the years. The actor had to make a lot of sacrifices to make sure that Hollywood took notice of him and his script for Rocky. With no acting godfather by his side, his struggle paid off greatly, as Rocky has become his signature role and franchise that he is popularly known for.

In his long and illustrious career, Stallone has never played a gangster and was never approached by filmmakers for it. That changed when Taylor Sheridan came to him for Tulsa King. The two shared many things and were friends long before the project came to fruition. As two titans of Tinseltown in the 1980s and early 1990s, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger found ideal rivals in one another and grew so competitive that the Hollywood heroes resorted to Machiavellian tactics to gain status as the world’s top action star, they revealed on Tuesday in a televised interview from TMZ.
The septuagenarian stars, who are now close friends, sat down for an hourlong primetime special called TMZ Presents: Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, which debuted on Fox on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Et. With TMZ founder Harvey Levin taking on the interviewing honors, the two action flick legends discussed some revealing details of their past rivalry, the troubled childhoods both say they’ve overcome and the faces they’d place alongside their own on a hypothetical Mount Rushmore for action heroes.

In Rocky II, Sylvester Stallone’s character has to learn how to box right-handed due to the eyesight problems he developed following his first fight with Apollo Creed, but it was a real-life injury which prompted this twist.
During the TMZ special Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, Stallone revealed that he tore his pec muscle right off the bone while training with Franco Columbu. This was just a month and a half before he was scheduled to start shooting Rocky II. “So, I go down, and it’s maybe only 200 [lbs]. I’m just warming up, and I hear a Pow!” Stallone said. “I fall on the floor. And Franco goes, ‘Let me see.’ He jams his fingers — I’ve torn my pec off the bone. I mean, bad. Super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently told People magazine that Bruce Willis was so generous on the set of their 1998 blockbuster “Armageddon” that he gave money away to the crew to make sure people had some “nice extra cash at the end of the week.” Willis headlined the Michael Bay-directed film opposite Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck.
“Bruce is such a good guy,” Bruckheimer said. “He was so generous to the crew. They’d have [cash giveaway] drawings, and he’d throw a lot of money in the hat, and the crew members would always take away some nice extra cash at the end of the week, whoever won.”
Bruckheimer called Willis a “giving guy” and a “good friend.” Apparently the “Armageddon” crew had a weekly cash pot going at the end of each week of production. Willis made sure to increase the jackpot with his own money to make the reward that much greater.

Franco Columbu, the Italian bodybuilding prodigy, and the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger forged a close friendship. The two dealt with everything after meeting in 1965, sticking by one another through good times and bad. But they each brought unique personalities to the table.
If boxing was Columbu’s background, then soccer was Schwarzenegger’s. In spite of this, their shared love of ‘bodybuilding’ served as the foundation for their friendship. Here’s an intriguing anecdote, though: Columbu trained Schwarzenegger’s fellow Hollywood veteran actor, Sylvester Stallone, for the film Rocky II.

When Franco challenged Stallone to a bench press competition, the actor accepted, but not before the latter tore his pec off the bone. This is where things got tricky. The injury happened 1.5 months before Stallone was supposed to appear and helm the Rocky sequel.
Well, you must hear him discuss how he turned the tide of events!

Sylvester Stallone is one of the finest men that Hollywood has to offer, and we are not just talking about his stellar acting skills. The man has always had a “broody and dangerous” look going for him that many would find attractive, even today. Clearly, age is not a construct when it comes to crushing on him. However, it did make Sylvester Stallone feel a little depressed once.

Sylvester Stallone allegedly had a bad rap among the directors of his earlier movies, who complained that the actor took control over some of their creative decisions. This reputation made one director not want to work with him, despite the First Blood actor expressing interest in the role. In 2002, Robin Williams and Al Pacino shared screen space in Christopher Nolan’s psychological thriller Insomnia. Compared to Nolan’s famed works, this film remained a very underrated one, but became a cult classic over the years. More significantly, it saw Williams in a completely different avatar as a scheming killer, which was a far cry from his comedic turns.

What Do We Know About the upcoming second season of Tulsa King? More than you may think. Sylvester Stallone isn’t just an actor, but a director and writer himself. Because of this, Stallone once had an unfavorable reputation behind-the-scenes of wanting to take control of the projects he starred in.
So when Stallone was cast in this obscure thriller, this filmmaker flat-out refused to collaborate with him. Until he was forced to.

The 2002 feature film D Tox, also titled Eye See You, might be one of the more obscure films in Stallone’s filmography. The movie was based on the novel Jitter Joint, and starred Stallone as a psychologically tortured federal agent hunting down serial killers.
Filmmaker Jim Gillespie would helm the project. He had a long list of big-named actors he wanted to work with on the thriller, but the Rocky star wasn’t one of them.

During a history-celebrating festival in the United Kingdom, Scottish actor Brian Cox lost his temper and attacked actors, theater critics, and politicians. Napoleon (2023), helmed by Ridley Scott, was the first flick he targeted. The yearly gathering discusses historical events with academics, educators, and prominent people.

Reacting quickly to Cox’s remarks, fans questioned why a great actor would ‘hate’ another great actor.

Take note that the movie was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.

We're back in class with another fun episode of Abbott Elementary!
This was probably the best episode of the season, and for that reason, we're giving it five stars.
When you have an ensemble cast like this one, it can be hard to make sure everyone's story gets told. But the writers of this show know what they're doing, and it never feels like anyone is left behind.
The big news from Abbott Elementary Season 3 Episode 10 was Janine's big career decision. We definitely saw it coming, as she's been dropping hints about how much she misses being in the classroom all season.
The district fellowship was a nice storyline for her because it gave her opportunities for growth and helped her understand where she really wanted to be.
Plus, it gave us Manny, who will be missed as the show pulls away from the district. Maybe they'll find a way to keep him involved,...

Action star Sylvester Stallone is all set to return for the second season of the Paramount+ TV show Tulsa King. The crime drama was created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and its first season was one of the most-watched shows in the network’s history. Stallone recently took to Instagram to promote the upcoming second season.
While Stallone expressed his excitement for the show’s sophomore season, he seemed to have avoided an ongoing controversy. Several casting agencies reportedly pulled out of the show after news of alleged ‘toxic’ behavior on set from the Rocky star and the show’s director came out. The accusations have been denied by director Craig Zisk, who was present on set.

Sylvester Stallone took to social media this week to promote the forthcoming second season of his Paramount + series, Tulsa King, without addressing the accusations that he and one of the show’s unnamed directors were allegedly responsible for a “toxic” on-set environment for its hired background actors, who were reportedly mocked by both for their appearances.
On Monday, Stallone did not address the accusations in an Instagram post, where the 1970s cinema icon appears dressed in a lavender suit as his character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Instead, he notified fans that he is on set shooting the second season, which comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
“Ringing the bell on location for Tulsa King part two,” Stallone captioned the on-set image.

Legendary actress Sharon Stone has performed many memorable roles in classic films in her four-decade-long career. Known as a s*x symbol in her heyday, the actress has worked with acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese, Wes Craven, Steven Soderbergh, and more. She received an Academy Award nomination for her role in Casino.
Stone had claimed long back in 2016 that she was part of a Marvel film. At the time, she had revealed that her character’s superpowers were related to heat and that she could not divulge a lot of information due to contractual obligations. Pierce Brosnan has been cast in the upcoming biopic on boxing British-Yemeni pugilist Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed, ‘Giant’.
Amir El-Masry will also star in the sporting drama that tells the story of Prince Naseem’s rags-to-riches ascent to a World Championship under the tutelage of his Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle. El-Masry will play Naz, and Brosnan is set to portray Ingle.
The movie will tell the true story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield and his discovery by Ingle, himself a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer. Their unlikely partnership along with Naz’ unorthodox style, cocky persona and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global superstardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of 80’s and 90’s Britain.

Giant will star Amir El-Masry and Pierce Brosnan. What’s more, filming is about to begin in Leeds, as part of an all-uk shoot.
Shortly to start filming in the UK is a new movie by the name of Giant. Unrelated to the James Dean-headlined classic, this is actually the biopic of boxer Prince Naseem Hamed (also known as Naz). It’s going to follow his story from his early days through to his ascent to becoming a world champion boxer.
Interesting personnel have been attracted to the feature, too.
Amir El-Masry is going to be playing Hamed in the movie, and alongside him will be Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan is going to take on the role of Brendan Ingle, the trailer who helped coach Hamed to his title.
Rowan Athale, who’s been working on the likes of The Rise and Gangs Of London, has written the script and will be directing as well.

The "Expendables" franchise has one hell of an impressive cast of recognizable actors. The first film was released on one very simple promise — to reunite as many '80s and '90s action film stars as possible and see them kick all kinds of ass. The film featured Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, and other stars in an ultra-macho, testosterone-exuding action franchise (which was originally meant to be a comedy).
One big '80s star who's never become an Expendable is Kurt Russell, but not for lack of trying. Russell actually turned Stallone down for a role in "The Expendables," with the star of "Escape from New York" citing that he was "not interested in 'ensemble acting' at this time." Of course, he'd change his mind just a couple of years later when Russell signed up to join the "Fast & Furious" franchise — known for its ensemble cast.

Sylvester Stallone's "Rambo" movies might not be as beloved as his "Rocky" films, but they've had just as fascinating a trajectory. What's more, they've been incredibly influential in the history of action movies, charting the general evolution of the genre across four decades. If you want to get an insight into the state of action filmmaking at a certain time, "Rambo" films are a good gauge.
"First Blood," the inaugural "Rambo" film, was noteworthy for blending what are now well-known action tropes with an attempt at exploring the very real issue of Ptsd in the context of the Vietnam War. Stallone's John J. Rambo was introduced as a former United States Army Special Forces officer who despite his preternatural combat skills was haunted by his experiences overseas. Everyone loves a good rags-to-riches story, and showbiz is full of such examples, with the most notable ones involving the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Demi Moore, Jim Carrey, etc. Walton Goggins, known for leaning into playing morally ambiguous characters, whose recent work involves the Fallout show, shares a similar story, as it took him a while to find his footing in Hollywood.
While Goggins eventually rose to prominence in the 2000s, he didn’t have the smoothest of starts, as during his arrival to LA at the age of 19, he only had a mere $300 under his belt.
Despite his rise being gradual, it turned out to be fruitful.
