I recently watched this and the one about the cold war. I liked the one about the cold war much better, it seemed to be more fair in general, although still clearly bias in many ways.
I didn't like this one nearly as much. I was 20 when 9/11 happened and remember a lot of the events of the last 20+ years pretty accurately and I just don't think this paints the same portrait for conservatives as it does for liberals. And, to be clear, I am neither. I disagree with a lot of what was done after 9/11, probably a majority of it, but we owe it to future generations, who weren't alive at this time, to tell what happened through a more balanced perspective. As other reviews have said, conservatives were clearly vilified and liberals were treated with kid gloves much more, and painted in a better light.
I just don't think that's the case, and it's not fair. I dunno, for some reason, I feel like a true "documentary" should be an unbiased telling of events. But, it was clear the film maker was trying to embarrass some of the conservatives and engage in "gotcha journalism". I wouldn't call it a documentary. I just looked it up, the Oxford Dictionary defines a documentary as: "a movie or a television or radio program that provides a factual record or report." If the intent is to embarrass or present a certain slant to the story, it's not "a factual record".
I think it was very well done with great production values, but just know, it's not a documentary. Know that when you watch it, you're receiving much of the story through a bias perspective.
