This is a perspective of old Romanian folklore story. The actors are balanced in expressing the emotion, even in the frightful moments, you can read the fear on Maia Morgenstern (known for Mary role in "The passion of the Christ" by Mel Gibson)
The few horror moments are the expression of unknown danger, that we can find in real world, and for sure it happened somewhere on earth. The outfit is similar to the one that was used in that period, and all the tools and comfort is very good shown to the viewer.
I recommend this movie as a small and interesting glimpse of history, also, it shows the harsh environment that impacted our ancestors in old times. This is something that is improbable in our days, but in that past, it was very much possible.
