Better Than Average Thriller - Shallow Grave
1 June 2019
Shallow is an appropriate name for this film, as all three leads are extremely shallow in character. That shallowness leads to their individual problems with a suitcase of money. The performances of the three are all very good; but there is one problem with the film; there is no protagonist. There is no one we can root for; everyone is a scumbag. Films without a protagonist generally fall at the end, but this one holds up pretty well, thanks to the great directing talent of Danny Boyle. Recommended with reservations for Rio.
