Fisherman's Friends: One and All (2022)
Death by stereotype!
As with most new to the shelf productions this one is no different and has to contain whatever the current social engineering is.
The funny thing is that they were banging on about all the old band mates not being politically correct enough, and breaching women's rights by stereotyping them, when all along this movie is stereotyping Cornish people so it's a bit rich!
Apart from that it was barely watchable, with a cameo by Chris Evans and cringe-worthy scenes from the Island Records bash and main stage at Glasto..
I wouldn't recommend this film to anybody who cares anything about Cornwall or sea shanties!
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Rather disappointed as an original Rambo fan
After being told this is the real thing bla bla bla.. I find that the ultimate fighting machine has turned so soft that he walks straight into an ambush by a lot of very low-level opponents relinquishing his arms and getting completely duffed up in the failed quest to save his niece.
Skip to the next part where john remembers he is an extraordinary soldier and is supposedly exactling revenge upon these hoodlums..( who have now turned into a SWAT team it seems).. You really couldn't make it up. Well someone did.
Any true first blood fan will have trouble equating the actions of this imposter to the actions of the real John Rambo we all know and love.
Never Let Me Go (2010)
A nice reminder of the shellshock i felt reading the book years before
My only question being - how does madame even know that she has a soul herself? very presumptive.
A good story which moves me greatly.
I would ask why dont these "poor creatures" just head on out of there, but won't as in the films extras (dvd) the actual author (who's name i can't spell and am too lazy to look up) explains that these people are sort of conditioned not to consider non-compliance. So there you go.
Still an interesting and engaging film which makes you think.
The Bank Job (2008)
Characters names have been changed to protect the guilty
Entertaining movie with fascinating story line - one which you'll not forget too quickly.
Definitely worth a watch even if these sort of films are not your cup of tea.
