More comedy than thriller, and no horror!
29 April 2021
7 Stars only because it's a 1964 flick, so not as advance as it has to be. All culprits in the lonely mansion are enjoying, eating and having fun, although they have been made aware that each one of them will be killed!

Except for last 15-20 minutes, grip of this so-called thriller movie is poor. Mehmood's role and comedy are totally insignificant, and boring at times!

Motto of the serial murders is not very convincing. Overall plot and opening sequences are good.

Unlike in today's movies, detailing is very poor, script succums at many places. When secret of the murders us being revealed, it's not at all shown, how all these murders were done!! Each victim was carrying a wrapon or poison! For what?? They were anyway on a sponsored foreign pleasure trip!!

May be it was a novelty movie then, so went on becoming superhit! Music by Shanker Jaikishan is always fabulous, superb here, especially the title song ... mind blowing, suits perfectly to the theme of the movie!👌👍 And yeah, at times, you start wondering, who is the real heroine of this movie, Nanda or Helen?! And, who is hero, Manoj Kumar or Pran??!!😷

More tragedy than horror!
12 April 2021
The first horror movie I saw without any blood gore, murder or brutality!👍 It's indeed a thriller movie rather than horror. I saw it in Hindi as Navsari ka rahasya! Good movie, it's like a tragedy drama movie with spice of horror added. Storyline and direction could have been still better. IVF process is very secret and how society came to know about it, that too after 11 years of the girl born?! Why is the girl suffering from polio when vaccine is available since decades? How this poor love hungry girl can become a ghost? So many such points are not pallatable! Also what is the significance of that half nacked boy? He was not ghost, then how comes he changes his places in a jiffy?!!!😂😂

A bloody violent story of a mis-revenge

A bloody violent story of a mis-revenge.

Plot is thin, direction is ok. In this revenge saga, Anu Agarwal as Khal-Naika steals the show! Varsha Usgaonkar looks very pretty. Why Anu Agarwal murders all and what was triple murder case?! Songs and music are not much to talk about. Movie's story raises many questions which remain un-answered. Why is only 1 hawaldar was deputed for the safety of Jotendra's fsmily? Why police never attempted to catch Anu Agarwal??!! Basically, it's not a Sawan Kumar's cup of tea!

Masala entertainer of 70's
21 October 2016
Well .... It is a wholesome entertainer. In my tender age, I had watched it thrice, when it was released ! Then several times again on TV! Irrespective of whether you agree to its central theme, this movie is a musical masala delight and punches all essential elements of a masala Hindi movie. Watch it, if not already seen. Enjoyment is guaranteed ! In fact, I liked all 3 movies directed by Randhir Kapoor, viz. Kal Aaj Aur Kal, this one and Heena. He should have directed more movies, I feel ! 👍 👍👍☺ Action sequences, emotional moments, comedy situations, fine humours, loud scenes - all are captured well in this movie. Era of 70's can be earmarked as an era of solid musical entertainers, be it a Sholay or it may be Jay Santoshi Maa or Don or Trishul or Seeta Aur Geeta (with my favourite Hema Malini, the Dream Girl of the Nation in double role, winning Filmfare award for the best actress) or even Amol Patekar & Tina Munim's Baato Baato Mein ! You like them all. You enjoy them all. In fact, today missing such cinemas !
