Cobra Kai (2018)
Mixed feelings
I really wanted to like the Cobra Kai series, but I have to say that it is hard for me to not expect the series belonging on the Hallmark Channel. The fundamental story line is great, however there is just too much predictability involved. I couldn't help not liking the amount of smiling the characters do, especially Samantha and Robby. The martial arts choreography is some of the worst I have ever seen, including parodies. If you can get past these flaws, or actually like that style, then I would say go for it.
The Mandalorian (2019)
Best Series in a Long Time
The Mandalorian hits it out of the park by miles, and consequently puts the more recent Star Wars feature films to shame. You know when a certain movie or series has that special "something"? Well.. this has that. The series is driven by a single main character, with superb costume design, cinematography, story-line, and casting. Werner Herzog was perfect for the role he played. Be prepared to see a lot of baby Yoda action figures owned by fans. "This is the way."
The Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For (2019)
Half-way filled in movie script
The script itself feels equivalent to finishing a crossword puzzle that is already half-way filled in. Whatever the actors are on that makes them so happy-go-lucky, I'll have what they're having. Lacey Chabert is definitely the majority reason male viewers would want to stick around for the entire film. Not too often would I say a less good-looking lead female role would probably benefit the film, but I too don't think I could get myself to say "no, get someone else."
