Who Is America? (2018)
America, America
Cohen leaves no prisoners in his comedy/satire. Whether it's the execrable wingnuts who will stop at nothing to further their murderous ideology or gullible lefties/artsies/farties, who will run with any "progressive" fad to confirm their creds in front of a camera and to themselves, so many Americans have abandoned any pretense of decency, rationality, and common sense. If and when our country becomes what Donald Trump and trumpists want it to be, this series will be an excellent document of why this will have happened.
Who We Are Now (2017)
Credibility issues
Throughout most of the movie, Beth is a character impossible to like because of her short fuse responses bordering on violence when things don't go her way. Her transformation towards the end, when she becomes a Solomonically wise person to benefit her son,, stretches my credibility at least.
The character of Jess irks me in another, more general way. Emma Roberts, besides being a talented actress, is a woman of exceptional beauty and skin complexion. In America, girls with such physical qualities almost never have as their career goal to be lawyers helping the lower strata of society. They either choose more snazzy and lucrative professions or at least try to get a job with major law firms that provide more career exposure, a better pay, and better marriage prospects. But, this is nothing new. One of the reasons movies, even when they deal with serious subjects, lose some of their verisimilitude is the fact that most actors look much better than common people in the street they're supposed to portray.
Testament of Youth (2014)
This and most other movies are inexcusably untrue to life
Alicia Vikander is an embodiment of heavenly beauty, but that's exactly the problem at the bottom of the movie industry. Good looks of the protagonists at all cost and almost all the time detract from even good productions and make them less credible as works of art. A quick glance at the photos of the real people portrayed in most bio-pics or other film genres reveals that many of them were quite average-looking. I can excuse this trend in movies made strictly for escapist entertainment, but those that have any artistic or historical verisimilitude intentions fall down on their face by doing this.
Four Seasons Lodge (2008)
scottdav60's review: misunderstanding, obtuseness, or bad intentions?
This is not a drama but a documentary slice of life from the latter years of ordinary people who are celebrating together their survival of one the worst tragedies in history.
What kind of photography did you expect - avant-garde, intended for the Cannes Film Festival? Gimme a break!
The testimonials are incidental to the intent of the film. They are part of it but not the main reason for it.
What kind of scholarly thought are you referring to? This shows a total lack of understanding of the movie. It was NOT made as a contribution to the already sizable archive of survivors' testimonials. It wanted to present a an event in the lives of these people that had been re-enacted for a few decades.
Why does a documentary filmmaker choose any individual or group of people? Because he/she believes they will make for an interesting story that hasn't been told before or wants to make it in his/her own way. Who should he have chosen in your view? There are hardly any survivors left.
The movie wasn't intended to be a revelation of any kind. Everything you said is mean-spirited and makes one wonder whether you had ulterior motives in panning it.
No, this documentary is not a tour de force work of art, but it is not anything that you're claiming it is either. Seems to me you're a frustrated amateur film critic that doesn't even have a good command of English. I truly doubt that you have any Holocaust survivor relatives.

Warning about ransom ware movie reviews website
This is not a review but a warning about one of the movie reviews websites on your list, gljivoteka.com, apparently from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Since I can speak the language, I opened it only to be greeted by a ransom ware message. Either this site is responsible, or someone else hijacked it for that purpose. I don't remember ever getting that type of message on websites other than porn portals.
I couldn't find any other contact avenues to notify you about this issue. Please provide a contact address for issues like this so that we can do you and your customers a favor and advise you about them without having to pad a review message so it can go through.

Anne Frank Remembered (1995)
Holocaust denier and anti-semite in the neighborhood
Azlan Lewis:
Azlan is is usually a name held by Arabs and other Moslems. It is a sad truth that Arabs have pretty much surpassed the Nazis in their antisemitic intensity and holocaust-denying lies, one example of which is Azlan's comment. They first learned anti-semitic propaganda before and during WW II, which was taught to them by the Nazis themselves since Moslem leaders were the Axis Powers allies and supporters. The mainstream Arab and Moslem media are full of anti-semitic propaganda of the worst kind on a daily basis. Here's a video that should convince any well-meaning, well-informed humans that Moslem media, financed by their governments, are a cancer on the tissue of the modern world:

As If I Am Not There (2010)
Facts of the rape issue in Bosnian War
Incredible Movie claims that the movie doesn't lay blame on any side in the war and that women were raped on all sides. This is ludicrous because it's obvious that Bosniak women in the movie were violated by the Serb militants. International commissions have established that most of the 12,000-50,000 women raped between 1992 and 1995 were Bosniak as a way of genocide by other means. The rapes of Serbian and Croatian women, as horrible as they are, occurred as instances of war crimes, not as part of Bosniaks' genocidal program of genetic transformation and intimidation.
Anyone interested in the facts of the rape issue in BiH should consult Wikipedia's article on the subject.
Dans la maison (2012)
"Perfect Family"
Even though my French is rudimentary, I could hear Claude describe Rapha's family as "une famille normal". This phrase was incorrectly translated as "perfect family" since it's clear that "normalcy" was what he was yearning for in view of the fact that his mother had left him when he was very young and that he had to care for a paraplegic father. The family was "normal" but far from perfection.
This is not a review. I'm just pointing out an imprecise word translation from French into English, which does affect the meaning of the movie's subtext. Shouldn't you take into account that not everybody wants to write a review but to point out certain inaccuracies?
Also, your spell check should not try to correct the spelling of French words such as "famille".
Safe Haven (2013)
Why are the pros so daft?
I just read a few negative professional critics' reviews of this movie, and I'm still wondering why they're so clueless. This is a combination of a damsel in distress story and a fairy tale aimed at female romance readers/viewers and should be evaluated as such, not as a story requiring the utmost in verisimilitude. The earnings for the movie show that it has reached and pleased that kind of audience. If you suspend disbelief, you'll be able to enjoy it and occasionally be moved by it. Some movies are meant for niche entertainment (like this one), and others are designed to reveal important truths about life, history and human nature. It's the old apples and oranges comparison, guys. In reviewing a fairy tale in terms of a serious story, you reveal your misunderstanding of both.
Afternoon Delight (2013)
Closed caption quality comment
I'm gonna comment on the quality of the closed caption subtitles in this movie. It must be one of the worst I've ever seen in the couple of decades of watching movies on DVD. Only a fraction of the dialog is captioned, and the captions themselves last a second or less. Guys, this is not a speed-reading exercise but an application that's supposed to help hearing-impaired viewers watch your movie. You shouldn't have bothered.
I'm also gonna comment on the inane, anal 10-line policy of IMDb for reviews. This is not a review but a comment on a deficiency in this movie that needs to be addressed and which may affect a sizable portion of viewers across the world. Even if it were a review - I've seen better eight-line reviews than those that are several times as long. What happened to the economy of expression as writing virtue, IMDb? Why are you encouraging artificial verbosity and limits instead of quality and creativity? Very strange!
Le cousin Jules (1972)
This movie is like watching paint dry
O.K., I get it. The movie was trying to recapture the simplicity of life of a peasant couple and contrast it implicitly with the hubbub and complexity of modern life, imparting a degree of dignity to their mundane activities. I guess it also portrayed the unquestioning nature of their existence, which found solace and meaning in everyday repetitive chores. However, the intent is one thing, and the result something totally different. I believe the director was confusing artistic reality with verisimilitude. The whole idea of this movie could've been imparted in 10-15 minutes, and nothing would've been lost.
Also, it was quite obvious that both Jules and Felicie were occasionally self-conscious about being on camera, so this greatly diminishes the credibility of their natural responses and behavior.
I can see how this can be a valuable historical record of how French peasants from Burgundy lived in the first half of the 20th century since very little had changed in their lives in the late 60's and early 70's. But, as a valuable work of art - not so much.
Varljivo leto '68 (1984)
Movie title correction
This is not a review but a correction of the English title, which is inaccurate. "Elusive" means difficult to find, catch, or achieve, difficult to remember or recall, indefinable, intangible, impalpable, or ambiguous. Serbian word "varljivo" primarily refers to frequently changing weather. This is quite clear from the movie dialogue when the judge mentions the summer and his young daughter characterizes it as "varljivo" because there are frequent rain showers. Figuratively, she might also imply the word to mean the political instability because of serious student protests all over Europe including Belgrade. She became interested in politics since she had a crush on a much older student who became involved in the protests.
The title would be much more accurate if the epithet used in front of "summer" were to be one of the following: precarious, variable, unstable, unbalanced, volatile.
