Honest drama about real struggle
2 July 2016
Demure drama about the life of a single unemployed mother in a working- class neighborhood. Jerez de la Frontera, one of the areas with more unemployment of Spain is the scenario where this story about struggle and despair is located. The film is not known for its complexity or technical part, but by its sincerity and the excellent interpretation of Natalia de Molina, which earned her the most important award in Spanish cinema, the Goya award. Some minor roles as the son or the neighbor Maria end up completing a short but very successful cast. Advisable to understand the situation in which the economic crisis has left many areas of Spain and other countries.

Funny comedy based on a comic
2 October 2015
The movie is an adaptation of an old Spanish comic which main character is Anacleto, a parody of James Bond. This does not mean that you have to know the comic to understand the movie, it is funny anyway. The story begins when Anacleto's main enemy Vazquez is released from prison. Vazquez tells Anacleto that he knows about his son and he is going to kill them both. Anacleto is going to have to protect his son and friends and try to finish Vazquez criminal activities. Spanish cinema is full of comedies and not all of them are really good but this one is probably the best of the last couple of years, i recommend it to everyone.

Awful attempt to be assertive
13 September 2015
The movie is about a group of individuals who met in a mental facility, they all are there because they have committed homicides, and that homicides were committed because of financial troubles.

When they meet they make a plan to escape and kidnap the CEO of the Central Bank to make him change the wealth deal in the world.

What could have been a funny and meaningful story becomes a horrible mix of Funny Games and a sit com.

The cast is full of nice Spanish actors but there is not much they can do with this script and direction. There are some Spanish comedies. There are some Spanish comedies i would recommend but this one is not a good idea, less if you are not Spanish because you will not get some of the inside jokes.

Stay away from this
30 August 2015
Not even a small chance, run away from this movie, it would be impossible to make a worst copy of The Hangover.

A group of girls travel to tourist island to celebrate a bachelor party and every predictable unfunny thing that could happen just do happens.

The writers didn't even try to take distance from The Hangover, some of the jokes are just tanslated, there is even a character losing a teeth...

This does not represents Spanish comedy at all, there are some interesting movies to watch but not this one.

Sorry for my English.

Operation Emmanuel
1 May 2013
This movie is based on the actual events of the "Operation Emmanuel" in 2007. Inside a war-clime in the jungle of Colombia between the government and the FARC guerrilla. A man who has nothing to do with the conflict suddenly receive the responsibility of take care of a wounded boy given to him by the FARC. The boy turns out to be the son of a woman previously kidnapped by th FARC and the center of an international rescue operation. The movie has been pointed to be politically one-sided in Colombia. The best part is another stunning performance by Luis Tosar, who, been Spanish act with a convincing Colombian accent.

Realistic and tough
3 August 2012
The city of Seville was about to celebrate the 1992 Universal Expo when a unit of police tried to clean the city of drugs with some controversial methods.

The movie describe perfectly the environment of the oppressed neighborhood in the south of Spain and the behavior of the people.

Very good performances by side actors and a great directing, a chance to know a different side of the Spanish films.

The star Mario Casas usually play the same old role of the charming guy in commercial teenage movies or TV shows but this is not a bad start to a more important career.

Funny independent project.
24 April 2012
This is a internet project from a group of Spanish filmmaking students. It shows the lifestyle in a fictitious working class neighborhood in Seville, south of Spain. A hash smoker, a drug dealer, a boy with narcolepsy (sleeping sickness) and grumpy veteran in a wheelchair are the group of friends trying to survive in a hostile environment. Unemployment, lack of resources and illusions will force them to do all they can to get ahead. So far there are two seasons with ten chapters each, but it seems they are producing more episodes in the near future. Really funny scripts, and the technical work gets better every single chapter. Worth to see.
