Somethings are just better left alone...

It's very simple...not everything needs to be redone or reimagined.

Too Many Plotholes Too Enjoy
25 December 2019
The effects are amazing. The music is of course there and on point. The acting is good. The only problem....the plot. No need to go into depth; a thousand of other reviews have. There are so many plot holes, the movie doesn't make sense in the series and that's a shame. What a sad end for Luke, Leia, and Han. They deserved better.

A solid remake!
23 June 2019
While this isn't better than the original which I loved and I was 10 when it came out and saw it on home video. This was a superior remake compared to say Per Semetary that basically retold the same story exactly. While I'd rather have original content like Us, at least this was an updated story and very different from the first. I love Black Mirror and this felt like an 1 1/2 big budge black mirror episode about the dangers of AI and technology. I don't understand the low votes. You go into expecting a horror movie and chucky and you'll like it. You go into this expecting Oscar caliber writing and acing you'll be disappointed. I felt there was just enough suspense, humor, and gore to satisfy everyone without it becoming boring. My biggest gripe is the casting of the Mom. She seems way too young like what was done with The Fog remake.

The worst Star Wars! Ever!
31 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I waited until I watched at home again about six months after being disappointed in the theater hoping maybe I missed something. Maybe I was tired that night or something. Maybe my expectations were to high. Nope. The movie was just the worst Star Wars ever made. TFA was good not great but got ride of the bad aftertaste of the prequels. The movies were back on the right trace. Rogue One was incredible. Maybe the best Star Wars movies ever except Empire. Then this movie. There are thousands of reviews that will go into more depth than me but here's my main reasons why I think it's the worst.

1) Forced Humor and No Chemistry.

Not since Padme and Anakin has there been little chemistry in a Star Wars film. The humor seemed forced. You really don't seem to care about anyone. Even beloved characters like Admiral Ackbar are killed in such a way you're like oh well.

2). The Casinos

No need for this. Did nothing for the story. The CGI and production seemed straight out of the prequels. This whole sequence seems like something that would have been on the extras dvd of The Phantom Menace.

3). Plot Holes

So many to list. Just read other reviews on here. This director just didn't seem to care about all the movies and stories before this one.

4). Destroyed So Many Characters

So many of our favorites and even new ones are served up for us horribly. Either being weak, dumb, or just killed this time. Luke and Leia. Finn. Ackbar. Snoke. Etc.

Suspenseful and well done nod to slashers.
28 April 2018
Ignore the reviews on here. Wait til a nice late night. Turn off the lights and dive in to a modern day take on the slasher genre so many of us loved during the 80s. You are not going to get Oscar winning performances. Ummm. It is called Slasher. But it's worth checking out.
