This is the first official Bond film without Sean Connery and the series tries to show that it can survive without him. This Bond film is much respected. It has the feel of hippy times as opposed to early Bond films made in slightly more formal times. George Lazenby felt times had changed and he decided this would be his only Bond film. There is a fair amount of physical action in the film. George Lazenby moves well. It is the first time that a Bond film involves skiing and the ski sequences are memorable. The film has a good focus on dialogue, characters and its gritty tone. It does lack the realism of 'From Russia With Love' and 'For Your Eyes Only' but it is a popular film with a great music score during brilliant action sequences.

The first carry on of the 1960s is based on police force. It has good strong screenplay and seems to be proper made film. It's important to stick to good script for film series which beginning and proving successful. It stars legend Sid james in his first carry on film which is notable for this. He's chief officer having to manage his misfits (the misfits being Kenneth williams, Kenneth connor, Leslie phillips and Charles hawtrey's characters) but has problem of being responsible to stern chief constable Eric barker and stern fellow constable Hattie jacques. It is the last Leslie phillips carry on film before he went on to star in other comedies like doctor films. There are good gags like Charles hawtrey and budgie and there are various situations that constables face and mess up like helping little lady across road. Filmed in black and white, maybe film seem different in colour. Police uniforms are black and white.

Stars Pierce brosnan in his final bond film. It is also a special film marking 40 years since first bond dr. no. Many times during film the anniversary is highlighted with little tricks like union jack parachute, display of past gadgets, halle berry coming out of sea in bikini. There is much wizardry on display like driving in speed chases across ice lakes, dining in ice palaces, satellite lasers, parachuting off icebergs, invisible cars. Pierce is joined by worthy villain Toby stephens who can be slimy, charming and nasty and Oscar winning big name actress Halle berry. John cleese (Fawlty towers) brings comedy to Q role in first film without usual Q. Pierce and especially Halle are quite physical in the film. Another modern element is live action title sequence along with madonna music theme. The other villains helping Toby stephens are tough too and the story moves fast and is tough tone. There is interesting traitor element and tough times for 007.

First hammer horror based on Bram stoker's Dracula. All acting in film performed well. Bela lugosi starred in Dracula film role in 1930s. Here stars younger Christopher lee who is tall, dark handsome looks, is charming but has dark devil horror. A well acted role by Christopher lee. It is first of his appearances in Dracula role, a star who is in many films. Peter cushing, a bigger star then, plays important role of Dr Van Helsing who becomes kind of nemesis to Dracula. The actor appears in other later Dracula films too. It is chilling film with suited eerie Dracula castle set. Dracula causes terror to male and many female victims who can become undead night creatures like Dracula. A strong story and film with good acting by all the cast too. Van helsing tries to end terror valiantly. He performs blood transfusions and studies the ways to destroy vampires like cross, garlic, stake and sunlight.

*may contain spoilers* A classic hitchcock film, the last of four hitchcock films with James stewart. It is memorable James stewart film along with 'Rear window'. It also stars young blonde lead in Kim novak who starred in number of 1950s films. It has terrific story, photography like San francisco city sights and good acting performances. A strong story based on fling with blonde beauty girl who assumed perishes devastating James stewart. The film has a well thought opening titles sequence. The film starts with James stewart asked to become detective and investigate blonde girl madeleine played by Kim novak. He invites her to flat. He is smart dressed with suit and top hat and elegant dressed Kim novak. When assumed madeleine perishes, an obsession happens. James stewart meets another redhead girl and tries to get her to be his lost madeleine. He visits places where madeleine went with him, a sense of creepiness.

A memorable comedy film starring Goldie hawn, an actress who had gained stardom in 2nd half of 1960s and starred in number of 1970s films. She reflected 1970s style with long hair. She had long blonde hair, was sweet and pretty. 'Foul Play' is good sweet film for her reminding of some films like 'Private benjamin', 'Butterflies are free', 'There's a girl in my soup.' The film is well written with humour and good cast including Dudley moore, Burgess meredith, Chevy chase, Rachel roberts, Brian denehey. Chevy chase's first major film is quite uplifting film mainly to characters of Goldie hawn, Chevy chase, Dudley moore. It has crime plot involving shooting of pope and good music for film 'Ready to take a chance again' sung by American barry manilow. The film is set in san francisco and some famous city landmarks are seen. Even small roles in film are filled well and miss hawn has nice wardrobe and good hair stylists

An iconic version of Dracula with bela lugosi like christopher lee version. Bela lugosi played film role much fewer times than christopher lee. Universal film's first Dracula horror film is good standard like Hammer's first Dracula film in 1957. Bela's character smiles as well as being dark persona. He is drawn to females to satisfy blood lust. Arch enemy is van helsing who quick to know Dracula is vampire. Film first set in his transylvania castle then normal surroundings in London with Dracula still after victims. An early film in sound, sound new to films and is black and white where hammer films are colour. Hammer films were noted for horror and this Dracula film one of 'universal's monsters' based on different monsters. There are good scenes in this film with wine, mirrors and wolfbane...; part of vampire legend. A successful film making money and bela Lugosi became well known Dracula. He has good tone of voice and expression

'the neverending story' is a film that had two sequels starring different kids from original film. This first film is maybe strongest film in series. This film was filmed in Germany. It has a German director and features electronic music that was successful in Germany and uk at that time. Its catchy song is sung by limahl. It's English speaking film with actors from mainly USA and uk. Stars include patricia hayes, moses gunn, gerald mcraney. There's imaginative creatures like falcor the luck dragon and rock biter in interesting story developed for film with themes of discovery and value of reading. There are big challenges for characters such as wise, questioning, powerful oracles. The film has a light fantasy tone. All young actors and actresses in film starred in number of films. Barret oliver in one of main roles here starred in 'd.a.r.y.l' and 'cocoon'

the first hitchcock film in colour and notable for extensive film set constructed with use of neon lights which change colour through film as night comes. Also, film shot in real time which was a different technique but one hitchcock didn't use again. All of film is set in one apartment block and has good storyline based on real life where two people conspire together to kill but suspicion of their former teacher on visit to their apartment means danger of being found out. There is distinguished and glamour element to cast with big name james stewart starring in first of four hitchcock films (cary grant had made first of four Hitchcock films seven years before with 'suspicion' 1941 where cary grant's wife suspected him of plotting to kill her). a few stern lessons are given by james stewart in this role. there is mixture of young and more senior stars in rope from young lead female actress to cedric hardwicke. Rope is a great name for the film. One of its young male stars still going strong today

a strong storyline based on described as unescapable u.s. prison island with water all around called alcatraz. Clint Eastwood in strong role in strong film story tries to do the great feat of escaping. The film is based on true escape from alcatraz which makes film interesting. Well acted and a good film, clint eastwood's calm and determined role is memorable. He had become big star around 1964 and was making big films through 1970s. Patrick Mc Goohan stars in one of his best roles as hard, stern prison governor with a suspicious, no nonsense approach. This role type hadn't been seen played by Patrick Mc Goohan before. (he was a prisoner himself in popular 1960s TV series) There's great attention to detail and great scenes such as shock mutilation prisoners workshop scene, fooling guards, making escape tunnels. The film gives good insight to prison life and routine and shows daily lives of prisoners inside the prison

Carry on don't lose your head is based on great scarlet pimpernel story from 19th century France. It is performed by the carry on team and is one of the carry on historical setting films of the 1960s like carry on cleo and up the Khyber. It is regarded as one of the strong carry ons of series. One half of the carry on team is on one side, the other half is on other. Sid james stars as scarlet pimpernel pitted against kenneth williams as french authorities pursuing citizen bidet. There are big sets used for film such as mansion where fancy dress ball held with dancing, posh costumes and jokes between sid james, kenneth williams and joan sims as sid james pretends to be an aristocrat. Other memorable sets are sunrise big gardens duel between sid james and authority enemy charles hawtrey and the public guillotining of criminals in France which the scarlet pimpernel hoping to avoid

*may contain spoilers* A good story with strong cast which set in wartime and a tense situation. The baddies are the Nazis with help of jolly collaborator from Ireland played by donald sutherland in one of his memorable roles from 1970s. The film is fast moving, the plot rolls along. England is infiltrated by nazi supporters and spies and it's up to British with help of Americans based in england to help defeat fantastic plot to assassinate winston churchill. Some tense moments and ruthlessness of nazi spies/sympathisers highlighted as well as detail and plotting of people behind the plot who are portrayed as determined by stars michael caine, robert duvall and donald sutherland. The question is can plot be carried through or can it be stopped in time and British war effort kept on track. It's good title for a film saying Nazis have arrived in Britain

One of the better Margaret Rutherford films based on novel After the Funeral by Agatha Christie. A strong cast star including famous actors Robert Morley and Flora Robson. Both flora robson and margaret rutherford became British dames. The film is a nifty little mystery filmed in black and white with fairly good plot and pace. Again it features the nice little quaint music in opening sequence and again miss marple is joined by charles tingwwell as police inspector and real life husband stringer davis to assist sleuthing. Miss marple is sleuthing mainly at a horse riding family owned gallop where her suspects are based in murder case of aunt who owned valuable paintings. She comes close to finding out the killers identity once but is disturbed but near end she relies on her wits as she confronts murderer

The last of the four Miss Marple adventures starring margaret rutherford, it is maybe not up to standard of previous films and weak in screenplay. It's jolly but and it's good that it's based on a ship as setting. Charles Tingwell is back as inspector craddock and jollyness is around although a bit less than films before. The cool music is back, played at opening sequence as miss marple(margaret rutherford) tries on navy uniform. star names like lionel jeffries, nicholas parsons join cast and stringer davis aids miss marple again. There is a shipload of suspects and a few detours to viewer as to killers identity. there is nice use of lamp morse code signals from ship across bay to the shore
