Welcome to the Punch (2013)
Really Recommend seeing this
Just got back from seeing this at the cinema (always makes films better) but must admit I was really very impressed with this film! Had not seen the trailer or poster for it but did know the cast. Great performances from all and had a strong (pardon the pun Mark) performances from all of the cast. A modern day classic , reminded me of a modern long good Friday! The film is slick , moves at a steady pace and runs long enough to give a brilliant story with twist and turns and am surprised at how relatively low the budget was as it feels like a film that was made with a high budget. Don't expect some run of the mill Bruce Willis style action film with a seen it all before story that is so often churned out these days, this will (I hope) become a real British classic !
Wishmaster (1997)
Oh my god!
I cannot quite believe how bad a film this is! I'm sure in England it came out in 1998. Anyway after seeing films such as Scream 1& 2 and I know what you did last summer, I couldn't get enough of Wes Craven and horror films. I thought finally horror movies are back. Even Halloween H20 (the seventh Halloween film) was good, but this! This compares worse than Wes Craven's Final Nightmare. It was a good looking trailer, (and made me go at midnight to the cinema to watch it) but this movie was very poor. Not too sure why he made it or how much he actually had to do with it. Robert Englund obviously starred in this inbetween picking up his 'job seekers allowance'. All he could 'wish' for now is a part in A nightmare on elm street part 8 as supposed to a Wishmaster 2.
Bloodsport: The Dark Kumite (1999)
Not as cheesy as Edam!
I'm a martial arts fan, and I think it may be the only reason they keep making Bloodsport sequels! Basically what you have here is a film that is actually very watchable for this genre, even though low budget! Daniel Bernhardt is back, from the previous films, but not as Alex Kardo. This really has nothing to do with the other films. Overall it's better than three and as good as two, but at the end of the day I can't stop watching the Van Damme original!
