As the second half of Bridgerton Season 3 approaches, the events of Part 1 might already seem distant. Very much indeed happened in the first four episodes of the Netflix series’ third installment, which ended with a climactic carriage scene and cliffhanger that has left viewers longing for the rest of the season.
Below, find episodic recaps as to plotlines such as the Featherington fronts — Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) search for a suitor and her sisters’ attemps to get pregnant — as well as Colin’s (Luke Newton) attempts to help Penelope until he had some realizations of his own about his feelings toward her. Francesca Bridgerton also entered society at the beginning of Season 3, and of course, Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoah Andoh) have attempted to shepherd the Bridgertons and mold society in their own ways.

Based on Richard Gadd’s autobiographical one-man show of the same name, Netflix’s Baby Reindeer is based on Gadd’s real-life experience of being stalked by a woman named Martha. The series has surpassed expectations to become one of Netflix’s most popular TV shows of all time, taking its place on the streaming service’s Top 10 list.
With a total of 84.5 million views since its release on April 11th, Baby Reindeer is sitting pretty at the #10 spot, which means that it has bumped the first season of The Witcher off the list entirely. Sorry, Geralt. The list tracks how many views a show gets within its first 91 days on Netflix, and as Baby Reindeer still has a month to go before it reaches that limit, it could very well jump up a few positions.

Based on the series of novels by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton has become a much-needed way for people to escape the stresses of real life into the fictionalized Regency era. But even the world of lavish balls, glittering gowns and romantic happy endings can't protect one from the pain of heartbreak and trials of fate.
Between seasons 2 and 3 of Bridgerton, which were released more than two years apart, there was another premiere that expanded the Bridgerton universe and explained the backstory of Queen Charlotte. However, since the show's release, Bridgerton's fans have become aware of a tragedy that is now evident in every episode.
Bridgerton Queen Charlotte’s Wigs
It's no secret that Bridgerton's costume and makeup departments have always worked around some of the historical restrictions, creating their own take on Regency fashion that looks better on screen. However, there is one character whose gowns and wigs don't fit in with the rest,...

We’re not making this true story up: “Baby Reindeer” has officially booted “The Witcher” from Netflix’s Most Popular TV (English) list.
The Richard Gadd limited series has amassed 84.5 million views globally since its release on April 11. Season 1 of “The Witcher” snagged 83 million views over its first 91 days of availability, which is Netflix’s cutoff for the all-time Top 10 list. “Baby Reindeer” has about a month left, so expect it to climb higher in the ranks. “Bridgerton: Season 2,” “Stranger Things 3,” “Fool Me Once,” and “The Night Agent”: Donny and Martha are coming for you.
Yet “Baby Reindeer” is no longer making Netflix’s weekly Top 10. Just last week it spent its eighth week on the Top 10 weekly list, clocking in at No. 10, while “Bridgerton: Season 2” has spent a whopping 19 weeks in the Top 10 as the third season of “Bridgerton” has inspired a lot of rewatches.

‘Baby Reindeer’ Leaps Onto Netflix’s Most Popular Series List; ‘Under Paris’ Takes Streamer By Storm
It’s official — Baby Reindeer is one of Netflix’s most popular series of all time.
The thriller series has crept its way to No. 10 on the streamer’s all-time English-language TV series list after clocking 84.5 million views since its release April 11, bumping The Witcher Season 1 off the list.
And, there’s still time for it to keep moving on up. Baby Reindeer still has 30 days in its premiere window, which gives it an opening to secure an even higher spot, potentially rivaling Bridgerton Season 2 or Stranger Things 3. The most impressive aspect of Baby Reindeer‘s certified hit status is that it isn’t attached to any IP, like many of the series it sits among on the most popular list, and it relied on word-of-mouth for its growth trajectory.

While some Netflix viewers are looking forward to seeing the second part of Bridgerton Season 3, others are already sick of these vintage romances and dramatic sighs. Nevertheless, we can’t deny that people's interest in period titles is still strong.
Imagine what if a story set more than 100 years ago would also rock it as a satirical comedy? Oh, then it would be a Comedy Central sitcom that aired from 2015 to 2018 and perfectly mocked both period dramas and today’s reality shows, so let’s take a closer look at it.
We’re talking about the show titled Another Period, and its plot revolves around the Bellacourts, Rhode Island's first family of the Gilded Age. This clan is rich in not only money, but also imagination and ideas on how to spend time doing nothing. Their days are filled with laziness, intrigues and, of course, sex.

In school, Jonathan Bailey studied “Mulholland Drive,” examining the nuances of Naomi Watts’ breakout performance. Now Bailey has the chance to grill the Oscar nominee about her process. In Ryan Murphy’s “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans” from FX, Watts portrays Babe Paley, the New York socialite and one of Truman Capote’s “swans,” whose falling out with the author was legendary. And after steaming up the screen in “Bridgerton,” Bailey takes on another sweeping romance with Showtime’s “Fellow Travelers,” this time as Tim, an idealistic congressional staffer who enters into a decades-long affair with a closeted World War II veteran and State Department official.
Naomi Watts: I heard that you were shooting three things at the same time: “Bridgerton,” “Fellow Travelers” and “Wicked.” Is this true?
Jonathan Bailey: That is true. [His voice cracks.] Did you hear? My voice just broke.
Watts: Yeah, because you have Ptsd?
Bailey: Maybe?...

Luke Thompson remains guarded about the possibility of his character Benedict taking center stage in Bridgerton Season 4. During a recent episode of The View, where he appeared with co-star Golda Rosheuvel, host Sara Haines posed the pivotal question. Rihanna is not only an established R&b singer but also a successful entrepreneur. After ruling the makeup industry with her Fenty Beauty, she has now ventured into hair care products and launched Fenty Hair last week. The launch event took place on Monday, and she chose to be authentic for this one as she sported her natural curls and also strengthened her Indian ties with them.
RiRi has been happy with her partner, A$ap Rocky, and their two boys. She visited India earlier this year for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash in Jamnagar. The Umbrella singer gave the guests and soon-to-be bride and groom a memorable evening with her electrifying performance. Exclusive: Shawn Ryan, whose thriller drama The Night Agent was the most watched TV series of 2023 on Netflix, has signed a big, four-year overall deal with the streamer, sources tell Deadline. Bill Pullman is a liar.
The star of “Murdaugh Murders: The Movie” doesn’t mean to be, but confesses he is one during our interview.

One of the things every Bridgerton fan knows about the show is that it's far from historically accurate. And for the most part, viewers tend to enjoy it. By skipping some of the etiquette rules, changing the classical music to modern tunes reimagined as instrumental covers, and creating its own fashion, the show becomes more relatable to modern viewers.
Even though fans are used to seeing all kinds of unexpected twists and turns, there are some things that are unusual even for the Bridgerton setting. But when it comes to the Queen and her glorious wigs, anything is possible.
Bridgerton Queen Charlotte’s Wigs

It may seem that Netflix has taken over the period dramas’ scene with the glowing success of Bridgerton, the series that got all the possible titles. However, Apple TV is now killing it with their period shows too, as you may have seen such gems, as Lessons in Chemistry (2023), Masters of the Air, The New Look, and Manhunt (all 2024).
This year the platform released a must-see miniseries that also takes us back in time, but here we embark on a journey together with one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, Benjamin Franklin. This show can even beat Bridgerton by its quality (and it surely does better when it comes to historical accuracy).
It starts by depicting the events of December 1776 after The Declaration of Independence was adopted. Franklin goes on a mission to France as commissioner for the United States, taking his 16-year-old grandson, William Temple Franklin with him.

In terms of minutes watched and views, both titles edged out “Bridgerton” Season 3, which has dominated the charts since its debut. With 432.3 million minutes watched, the Regency-era drama was the No. 4 series in its third week of availability, ranking just behind “Geek Girl” (439.7 million), though “Bridgerton” did get more views (2 million vs. 1.3 million). [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Doctor Who Season 1 Episode 6 “Rogue.”] “Oh my Bridgerton.” Doctor Who leans into the fun of the Netflix series with its trip to 1813, and while the Duchess (Indira Varma) may start by looking for a match for Ruby (Millie Gibson), it’s the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) who has a fun (but heartbreaking) romance. The Doctor crosses paths with a bounty hunter Rogue (Jonathan Groff), with both thinking the other is responsible for a dead body; there are Chuldurs (shape-shifters) in their midst, and after the classic misunderstanding comes the bonding (on both their ships), almost kiss (on the Tardis), sweet moments (a dance), and heartbreaking separation (Rogue takes Ruby’s spot in a trap designed to transport the Chuldur to a random barren dimension). The presence of a character played by Susan Twist continues (this time a portrait), and we can’t help but wonder who Rogue’s new boss is,...

Warning: this Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
This episode is delightful.
Thanks for reading, see you next week!
Ok, obviously there’s more to it than that. For a comparatively lightweight romp in which the Doctor and Ruby battle silly-looking bird aliens cosplaying an episode of Bridgerton, there’s plenty going on under the hood. But if you’re after the tl;dr, delightful really does the job. The writing by Kate Herron and Briony Redman, is sharp, full of funny lines and clever misdirects. The performances directed by Ben Chessell, are all on point – the leads are predictably great, but the guest stars are also completely dialled in, particularly Jonathan Groff. The costumes naturally look sensational because the BBC can do this stuff with its eyes closed. The whole thing is just a really good time.
So, where to start? Perhaps with a question that has been hanging in...

A six-minute music video for Ariana Grande's latest single, "The Boy is Mine," has been released, and it finds the pop megastar channelling iconic Batman baddie/love interest, Catwoman.
The premise of the video focuses on You star Penn Badgley as the mayor of an unnamed city (we're guessing they couldn't call it Gotham), who decides to unleash an army of stray cats to rid the streets of a rat infestation. Grande plays a woman who is obsessed with the mayor and creates a love potion to make him fall for her.
Then, in a scene which appears to pay homage to Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle creating her costume in Tim Burton's Batman Returns, Grande dons a homemade Catwoman suit of her own and takes to the streets.
The tune is a single from Grande’s newest album, Eternal Eunshine, and samples Brandy and Monica's 1998 hit of the same name.

The Bridgerton family tree has grown closer to completion in the onscreen adaptation of Julia Quinn’s books. With almost three full seasons on Netflix, the cast and characters have come a long way from Christmas 2020 when the first installment dropped.
As devotees know, Edmund Bridgerton (Rupert Evans) and Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmel) chose to name their eight children in alphabetical order as a means of organization. The late viscount and dowager viscountess had three sons — Anthony, Benedict and Colin — before their first daughter Daphne, who is followed by two more girls — Eloise and Francesca — and finally, Gregory and Hyacinth. Violet, who wants a love match for all of her children, oversees the marriage market seasons like a hawk, and her children who marry take after her in wanting a big family. Julia Quinn’s books detail more extensively the offspring of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) Bridgerton,...

While a vast amount of work goes into every single one of Golda Rosheuvel’s wigs in Bridgerton, one, in particular, took especially long to design and get approved.
In season 3 of the hit Netflix series, Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte wears a wig complete with motorized swans that appear like they’re swimming in a body of water. During an appearance on The View with co-star Luke Thompson, the actress revealed that it took a few years to make that wig.
“Erika [Ökvist], our designer, an amazing human being, a talent beyond talent, her brain is so messed up with ideas,” the actress said when asked about the motorized hair ensemble. “Some of the ideas I had to go, ‘No!’ At one point, she wanted a boat — a full ship — on my head, and I was like, ‘It’s not going to work, babe.'”

Netflix’s live roast of NFL great Tom Brady made it into the Nielsen streaming rankings for its premiere, despite only being available for a few hours of that week. After its first full week on the streamer, it rocketed to the top of the charts.
The Roast of Tom Brady gathered 1.67 billion minutes of viewing for the week of May 6-12, leading all streaming titles by a wide margin (the second-place finisher, Grey’s Anatomy, had 1.11 billion minutes of watch time for the week). The roast also had by far the biggest weekly viewing tally ever for a Netflix special; the previous high was 798 million minutes for Chris Rock’s stand-up special Selective Outrage in March 2023.
The 1.67 billion minutes of viewing for the roast in the United States translates to about 27.87 million hours, or about two thirds of Netflix’s reported worldwide total (42.2 million hours) for the special that week.

The strongest viewership of Netflix’s Bridgerton proved people still rave about period titles and, in particular, intricate stories, set in the 18-19th centuries. Besides, before the success of this series, we saw such gems of the 2010s, as Mia Wasikowska’s Jane Eyre (2011), Nicole Kidman’s The Beguiled (2017) and Saoirse Ronan’s Little Women (2019).
However, there is a female-led period movie that stands out among all of them. Back in 2018, it amazed the audience by its perfect mix of black comedy elements, deep drama, impeccable acting performances and quite an authentic atmosphere and tone.
Set in the early 18th century during the long war of England against France, the movie starts by introducing us to Queen Anne, who is in poor health and isn’t interested in governing at all. The one who is really into it is Sarah Churchill, her advisor and lover.
