Tyler Posey’s run as Beacon Hills resident in Teen Wolf came to an end in 2017, but it’s hard to forget the actor’s all too lovable role as Scott McCall. Earlier this year, Sony / Screen Gems announced that they would be giving the horror film Horrorscope a theatrical release on June 28, 2024. But in late October, Paramount announced that they were moving A Quiet Place: Day One from its previously announced March 8, 2024 release date to June 28. So it’s no surprise to hear (via Borys Kit) that Screen Gems has decided to shift Horrorscope forward to May 10th. Thanks to A Quiet Place: Day One, we’re going to see Horrorscope a month earlier.

Reed’s Point reunites several of the people behind 2018’s D-Railed, including director Dale Fabrigar (They Crawl Beneath), and co-writer Suzanne DeLaurentiis (Area 401) who wrote the script along with Sandy Lo and Tricia Aurand (Middleton Christmas). I found it to be a fun mash-up of monsters, ghosts, and a heist gone wrong. It starts with Kelsey (Madison Ekstrand) her boyfriend Alex (Evan Adams; The Wrong Valentine) and cousin Sarah (Sasha Anne) joining Kelsey’s father Greg on a business Rv trip. However, on the way to pick up the client, the driver swerves to avoid a deer and crashes.

While Hollywood has struggled to marry its affection for bombastic big-budget franchises and its audience’s hunger for the mid-budget romantic comedies that fell out of box-office fashion long ago, Netflix picked up the slack and ran with it. But bulking up its robust library of originals with a litany of rom-com offerings — a good thing! — doesn’t always equal with quality, even for a filmmaker-friendly streamer like Netflix. For every tender, funny hit like “To All the Boys,” there’s a retrograde entry like “The Kissing Booth.” For every clever “Always Be My Maybe,” there’s a forgettable waste of a good idea like “Love Wedding Repeat.” For every crowdpleaser like “Set It Up,” there’s a “Hey, what movie was that?” like “The Last Summer.”
Now there’s “Desperados,” which plays out like a needlessly gross-out version of the incredibly similarly themed “Ibiza,” an overlooked Netflix rom-com that...

Watch out, Noah Centineo, because you have some competition. Twenty-two-year-old Wolfgang Novogratz has two Netflix teen flicks under his belt (he plays Drew in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and Foster in The Last Summer), and he isn't showing any signs of slowing down. (Anyone want to sign our petition to make The Last Summer sequel happen?) As much as we love this rising star for his acting chops, it definitely doesn't hurt that Wolfgang is also pretty damn sexy. We've collected his sexiest pics for your viewing pleasure, and - even if you're strictly Team Noah - you'd be crazy not to think Wolfgang is giving him a run for his money.

It is easy to be dismissive and contemptuous about teen-campus flicks. Films about shallow preoccupations presume the characters indulging in them, to be shallow. Worse still, those filmmakers who direct films about superficial youngsters are presumed to be shallow too.
But "The Last Summer" is ample proof of just how much constructive thought goes into creating a film about youngsters obsessed with matters of the bed rather than the head.
Or maybe, that's not quite the character-chart that this far-more-clever-than-it-seems film pertains to traverse. There is a bright, sensitive student-filmmaker in the film -- Phoebe (played by Maia Mitchell) who talks about great art, great filmmakers and... well, just great artistes. Oddly, she doesn't seem like an oddball in this film about carnal desires and over-the-top emotions.
Perhaps the trick that the director William Bindley adopts is to not judge the characters -- all 1023 of them. I mean, there are...

Netflix's latest teen comedy offering, The Last Summer, follows a group of Chicago teens through the Summer between graduating high school and starting college. The cast is packed with some of young Hollywood's rising stars, including Wolfgang Novogratz, a young actor whom Netflix fans will likely recognize from last year's Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. This marks Wolfgang's second Netflix teen comedy in a row, and he does a great job portraying the ups and downs of being a teenager - but how old is he in real life?

Netflix's rom-com machine is back in full gear, and its latest offering is The Last Summer. The movie, which started streaming on May 3, is an ensemble comedy about a group of Chicago teens loving and living it up in the final Summer before they scatter for college. It's definitely a self-contained movie with a very specific time frame, but is there the possibility for a sequel? Right now, the answer is a big fat "maybe."
Unlike some of Netflix's other movies, like To All the Boys I've Loved Before, there's no blueprint to The Last Summer's future prospects. Why? Because it's an original script, not an adaptation of any existing material. The screenplay is an original by William Bindley (who also directs) and Scott Bindley. Since there's no preexisting material dictating whether or not the story can continue, there's no reason the writers couldn't continue the story if...

May is a busy month for Netflix, with a long list of new titles coming to the streaming service, including a whole lot of Netflix originals. One to look forward to is Netflix’s upcoming murder-thriller series “Dead to Me.” Debuting May 3, the series stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as two unlikely best friends –and one (or both) of them are keeping a dirty secret. As a welcomed bonus, we get a lot of screen time with James Marsden, who plays Cardellini’s impossibly charming, on-again, off-j again boyfriend with a few dark secrets up his own sleeve.
We’re also getting “Tuca & Bertie,” a new animated series about a pair of bird-besties voiced by Ali Wong and Tiffany Haddish, and “What/If,” an anthology series that explores morality starring Renée Zellweger. Add to that “Wine Country” starring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph, Season 3 of “Nailed It!,...

One day, I was talking with a group of coworkers about films. One of them stated that they felt that the superhero movie genre was dying and that after “Avengers: Endgame,” they didn’t see much hope for the genre. We talked about how film genres come in waves and questioned what genre will have it’s surge next. The answer? The Rom-Com. Thanks to Netflix.

"Sometimes I fear whether I'm even capable of love." Netflix has launched an official trailer for a new indie romantic comedy titled The Last Summer, another one of these sappy end-of-high-school coming-of-age kind of films about a bunch of teens enjoying their last summer just before they go to college (also see: The Spectacular Now). Here's the cheesy Netflix synopsis: Standing on the precipice of adulthood, a group of friends navigate new relationships, while reexamining others, during their final summer before college. Set in Chicago, The Last Summer stars K.J. Apa, Maia Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage, Sosie Bacon, and Tyler Posey. As bright and as charming as this film seems, it is just another beautiful people falling for other beautiful people film, most likely repeating the same lessons to learn from other teen films. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for William Bindley's The Last Summer, from Netflix's YouTube: Featuring several intersecting stories,...
