Rosanna Arquette has joined the Season 3 cast of David E. Kelley’s “Big Sky” as recurring guest star. She will portray Jenny Hoyt’s (star Katheryn Winnick) charismatic and fast-talking mother, Virginia “Gigi” Cessna.
Her character summary is as follows: “She’s a world-class scam artist who used childhood Jenny in her grifts, much to present-day Jenny’s resentment. Gigi has an uncanny ability to charm her way into people’s lives and then disappear without a trace. When she returns to Helena to pull her latest con, Jenny catches onto her and mother-daughter must work through their difficult relationship.”
The ABC series follows private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) as she teams up with an ex-cop (Winnick) to solve a kidnapping case in Montana. The new installment, titled “Big Sky: Deadly Trials,” sees newly appointed sheriff Beau Arlen (Jensen Ackles) joining the duo’s efforts to maintain order in town.

In a pioneering alliance, Starzplay is partnering with Studiocanal, Europe’s leading film-tv production-distribution-sales company, on Starzplay’s first French co-production, the series “All Those Things We Never Said.”
Adapting the bestselling novel of the same title by Marc Levy, France’s most-read living author, the comedy-drama series is commissioned by Starzplay and Studiocanal parent, Vivendi’s Canal Plus Group — Europe’s second-biggest pay TV/SVOD operator.
Written by Levy, who will also showrun, the 10-part half-hour series has just initiated principal photography, starring Jean Reno and Alexandra Maria Lara. Studiocanal will handle international sales outside Starzplay and Cpg’s extensive distribution footprints.
Levy’s original novel was published in 2008. Described by Studiocanal, Starzplay and Cpg as “a bittersweet comedy with soul” and “wryly fun,” it taps into human relations — a reconnection with a father and a lost first love; a second chance at life — which carries new meaning as...

Pierfrancesco Favino and Kelly Reilly lead the cast of this film, which the French director and writer has adapted from her own international bestseller. Following on from 2017’s Holy Lands, which was shot between Israel and Belgium and starred Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Efrat Dor and James Caan in its cast, Amanda Sthers is stepping behind the camera once again to film Promises, a work based upon the French director and writer’s international bestseller of the same name, which was published by Grasset in 2015. Shooting on English-language work Promises has been underway in Rome for a few days now, with the set scheduled to move on to the Lazio coast and to London over the next seven weeks. Leading the cast is Italy’s Pierfrancesco Favino (honoured with an award at the most recent Venice Film Festival for his part in Padrenostro) alongside Brit Kelly Reilly (seen in this year’s Eight.
French multi-hyphenate Amanda Sthers (“Holy Lands”) has recruited the U.K.’s Kelly Reilly, Italy’s Pierfrancesco Favino and France’s Jean Reno for English-language romantic drama “Promises,” set in Italy and London, which started shooting in Rome on Monday.
Based on Sthers’ novel by the same title, “Promises” turns on an unfulfilled love affair between Alexander, played by Favino — who won best actor at Venice last year for his role in Italian drama “Padrenostro” — and Laura, played by Reilly.
Commenting on her casting choices, Sthers in a statement noted that she grew up watching movies from around the globe and therefore “allowed myself to choose talent over everything else, and wanted the global sentiment of the film reflected in casting.”
“Together, Favino and Reilly look like a quintessential cinematic couple bringing a sense of timelessness to our story,” Sthers added.
Rounding out the cast are Cara Theobold (“Downton Abbey...

"I hope the strange adventure you're on is bringing you happiness..." Studiocanal UK has released the official UK trailer for the Israeli drama Holy Lands, the latest feature film written and directed by French filmmaker Amanda Sthers. James Caan stars in Holy Lands as Harry Rosenmerck, an Ashkenazi Jewish American cardiologist, who decides to leave everything to become a pig farmer in the Holy Land. Filmed in the iconic landscapes of Israel, Holy Lands is "a universal story about love, family, loss and tolerance, told with incredible humour and heart through career best performances by a stellar ensemble cast." The film shows that, "even in the most dysfunctional of families, what matters is the courage to say what has been left unsaid." This also stars Tom Hollander, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Rosanna Arquette, Efrat Dor, Reem Kherici, Patrick Bruel, and Loai Nofi. Looks a bit odd, but seems like a heartfelt and honest film.

If you’re interested in a movie where James Caan plays a grumpy old retired cardiologist raising pigs in Israel, and one who used to be married to a younger woman, played by Rosanna Arquette, who now is stricken with terminal cancer, and who is also estranged from his playwright son (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), whose latest opus, titled Origins, punctuates the drama with several symbolic interpretive dance pieces, then maybe — just maybe — the film Holy Lands could be for you.

Efrat Dor (The Zookeeper’s Wife) is set for a recurring role on the upcoming third season of Amazon’s hit series Sneaky Pete.
Created by Bryan Cranston and David Shore, Sneaky Pete stars Emmy nominee Giovanni Ribisi as con man Marius, who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete, “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.
Dor will play Lizzie, an amoral con woman with boundless skill and no moral conscience. She’s not mean spirited. She’s more of a nihilist. Life has no meaning, so do what you want, and live for the thrill of today.
The series, which hails from Sony Pictures Television, also stars Marin Ireland as Julia Bowman, Margo Martindale as Audrey Bernhardt, Shane McRae as Taylor Bowman, Libe Barer...

Jonathan Rhys Myers is an actor, not a movie star. Within moments of meeting him on a balcony in a plush London hotel, HeyUGuys realises that the man we know best as Dracula, Henry VIII and Tom Cruise’s sidekick does not covet the tabloid attention he seems so capable of garnering. Far from it.
For today Rhys-Meyers is not in a great mood. It would seem his private life has once again preceded him. A previous interviewer ignored the request to talk about the movie he’s in town to promote – Syria-based spy thriller, Damascus Cover – choosing instead to refer to recent tabloid stories relating to alcohol and international travel.
We care little for tabloid tales. We arrived armed with questions about playing Ari Ben-Sion, a Mossad agent haunted by the death of his son, who is assigned the task of extracting a chemical weapon scientist from Syria, only...
