A Fun Flanders Episode with a Lot of Heart,
Fland Canyon is a terrific Simpsons episode with a very well written plot and a ton of funny scenes. It's an interesting set up as we are taken back in time to when the Simpsons went on a trip to the Grand Canyon with the Flanders, it was a wise choice to do this as they were able to play around with things that they could not do had it been set in present day, such as being able to allow Maggie Roswell reprise her role as Maude Flanders. I did feel that the characters were a bit "out of sync" at times, I understand that this is because it is a different time in their lives, but when Marge and Homer say or do something they never would usually, it did throw me out of the episode a little. I loved the relationship which is formed between the Simpsons and the Flanders here, as we see them working together in order to stay alive, it added a lot of depth and I would love to see the two families head off on another adventure in the future, the dynamics between them are very different, which is why it works so well. A lot of laughs and heart, Fland Canyon is certainly an enjoyable Simpsons.
A crisis brings the Simpsons closer with the Flanders during a vacation to the Grand Canyon.
